Where do you get that idea? Honestly this game is basic as fuck compared to most AVNs / H games that exist nowadays. There are at least 2 people working on it (not solo dev.) It uses basic 2d cartoony art. The plot is completely linear/kinetic, there are no meaningful choices and no branching story paths. I really don't know how they could make it any simpler lmao. Which makes it even more hilarious that they keep crying "OHHHH WE NEED MORE TIME TO POLISH" uhhhh there are a lot of way better games with much more complex structures and higher quality art, that crank out updates much faster. The developer team trying to create a game that can not be finished before +10 years.

Once again, please tell us where the "fake promises" are. Devs continously adding tasks are exactly the opposite of a "promise". On a daily basis, they are explicitly telling everyone the game is not ready and there are still more work to do. The pace has been glacial during all this 0.7 cycle due to reasons we all know about. They even said on their weekly report that this polishing phase may take a few months, and it's only been a week since then. You are free to not believe them but at least be honest there, people having wrong expectations (or being unable to understand a simple chart) is not equal to devs making fake promises. The game is good you're right. The release between update seems a bit exaggerated to say the least. I think people here are fed up with fake promises. I mean 2 years to get a few tenth of percentages every couple days (it was a couple percentages by the start of the V0.7) they clearly are shiftless. Plus now 100% content is claimed, they start increasing tenth of percentages every day of "polishing", seems like a joke.
Yeah ok we don't have to pay for the release, i don't support them on patreon for this particular reason. The amount of time between updates seems out of reason, and I think it's ok tu put a finger on those milking behaviors and - i hope i'm wrong - fake promises.
Again this word "milking".... put a finger on those milking behaviors and - i hope i'm wrong - fake promises.

I don't really understand the hate toward the progress tracker. How it works? Well, it's explained in the faq section: they plan in advance how many 'tasks' (an arbitrary measure of their work, based on their experience) would be needed to complete the update, and then they keep updating their progress, adding on a daily basis both the tasks they've completed and the new tasks they've realize would be needed too, on top of the original ones. But you don't really need to understand it or even believe that those numbers reflect their actual work, all that matters is that you can see they are saying they still have around 100 tasks to do and they advance at 2-4 tasks per day. Now, if people can't grasp these basic maths and have 'toxic expectations' when it's obvious that the pace is this slow, at least don't blame the progress tracker. Toxic expectations would arise if devs were saying totally esotheric things like 'we are getting there', as no one could really know where 'there' is and how fast we are 'getting' there. But that's not what's happening with WaL. Asking devs to remove this tracker would mean giving everyone a free pass to go even wilder with their personal assumptions, which wouldn't benefit anyone.Honestly how does the progress bar even work? I feel like 9/10 I don't understand the real progress behind the scene, progress bar just shouldn't exist IMO, it just creates toxic expectation. We don't really know how much those percentages actually calculate in real time
But at the end of the day it's free, so unless you're paying, your voice doesn't matter. As much as I dislike patreon milking, those things are optional and people who complain when they don't pay just sound salty. (Am I jelly they are making banks while I toil in minimum wage? Who doesn't... Just check their Patreon earning it's 7k a month for 2 people... not exactly millionaire wage)
You need to play more games of this site if actually believe thisThere is hardly a single game that is as transparent, as consistent and as professionalized as What a Legend on the entire forum.
Shouldn't they have obligations to the community? most likely not, most likely they don't care, we're just stalling, telling you that we'll update this one day. beautiful. What professionalism?Sometimes I feel like CountMorado, and I don't really want to.
But this thing has been explained a thousand times along the thread, and the trolls, the lazy ones, and the ones who want to see the world burn keep throwing knives over and over and over.
We all know why the game is getting late, but both devs are/were/had been crystal clear from the beggining. Even with the polishing phase, they said TWICE that it was gonna take a few months minimum.
Now, I really want to ask you all who are fed up and always raging the thread with all this nonsensical comments:
Why do you continue to treat honest, hard-working developers like this?
There is hardly a single game that is as transparent, as consistent and as professionalized as What a Legend on the entire forum.
They're taking their time and you're really pissed off, understandably.
But it's a shame that the transparency these two work with is so vilified and they finally choose to remove the progress bar and end up working like most developers on this site.
Really, it would be a truly shame
They have obligations to the community, for sure. And those obligations are staying truth to the Patreon benefits they promised, and being as transparent as possible about their work so that people can make an informed decision on whether support them or not. And I'd say they are doing a good job on that regard: every patron is getting their respective Patreon benefits for their money (Discord access, weekly reports, spoilery art and WIPs, voting rights, and they'll eventually get the update 24h earlier than its public release), and if devs decide to 'postpone' the progress as you say, adding 10 more tasks to the counter, we'll know it the very next day thanks to the progress tracker, the same way we got critical info about the reasons for this slower progress. By the way, they haven't said 'we'll update this one day'. That would be leading on people if they couldn't meet that deadline. Their more accurate public deadline has been 'we're still a few months away' when the polishing phase began. So at least use these devs actual behavior when raising your concerns.Shouldn't they have obligations to the community? most likely not, most likely they don't care, we're just stalling, telling you that we'll update this one day. beautiful. If the game were ready, I would agree with you. However, at the moment, it's a never-ending story on the brink of crisis, failure and fiasco. All living stones, whales and amoebas are crossing their fingers in the hope that the counter will not be updated by another 10 points and that the "development" will not postpone the progress for another six months of waiting
Why do you continue to treat honest, hard-working developers like this?
This is simply an excellent breeding of whales. They have obligations to the community, for sure. Now please tell us what other obligations you think they have or should have.
You're right, it looks exactly like the milfy city thread. A dev giving excuses every week on why the update is not ready and a bunch of idiot simps (like you) defending them for free! Simping for porn game devs is a whole new level of pathetic, but don't let me stop you, keep going!and people like you crying about it here making this game more popular, probably you are working hard than the devs either
anyway, the thread looks like milfy city 2.0 for me
Who the fuck defending Milfy City, lol. You're right, it looks exactly like the milfy city thread. I thought I deleted the comment? Anyway, agree to disagree. Anyway I think the thread should be lock, it isnt discussing anything but is just hating on the patreon business model. I don't care if Patreon is le bad, I'm not paying for anything anyway. If people are just jelly that Dev is making 3k a month each just create your own patreon scam like jesus.I don't really understand the hate toward the progress tracker. How it works?
