My take on the new content (because everyone cares):
- Pretty good overall, definitely long
- The art quality stayed up to standard, I don't agree with those saying it dropped noticeably
- Yea you are kinda locked in with almost no interactions to do, which is whatever.
- Feels like the best content was squished to the back half of the whole thing, like there's sexy bits in the beginning, then a major long drought of nothing during the whole boneman part (literally fell asleep in the middle of it lol), and then a whole heap of sex from there to the end. Anyone else felt that way?

I don't know about quality drops but I just started playing this update and finished it seems pretty consistent quality to me.
Agree with orc axe quest in bone island seems like a whole nothing quest just to lead back to sex scenes.
Still the ending of orc axe quest was nice.
Honestly, I get why some people weren’t thrilled with Rose’s update. If it had dropped sooner, I think it would’ve been received much better at the time. Weirdly enough, I feel like the Gomira update was just as good as Rose’s, but I, and I think most players, enjoyed Gomira’s a lot more. Why? Because Gomira, as a character, was something of an unknown quantity.
What I mean is, throughout the main story, we already had a good grasp of Rose’s personality. Sure, the update expanded on the whole “demonic possession” aspect, which was cool, but we’d already seen what Rose was like and had a decent idea of how hot her scenes would be. There wasn’t as much mystery or novelty.
Gomira, on the other hand, was a blank slate. Apart from that insanely hot gloryhole scene, all we knew was that she was a fierce warrior. But would she treat the MC kindly like Myrtle and Rose? Or would she lean more toward Holly’s... abrasive side? That intrigue, combined with her distinct look as an orc, really gave her update an edge. And let’s be honest, her being a total visual knockout didn’t hurt either.
That said, let’s not ignore the elephant in the room: this update took two years. No matter how good it turned out, that’s just way too long to wait.
And now... here’s where I have to ask Magic Nuts’ Patreon followers: what the hell were you thinking voting for Holly as the next update!? Are you dumb, or are you stupid?
Look, I’m sure Holly’s update will make her more likable, probably around the time she marries the MC, but seriously? You picked her over a main story continuation, which we know will be focused on Madeline, or an update for someone like Gretta? Gretta, who, like Gomira, is another “unknown quantity” with loads of potential. She’s unique, stands out visually, and, let’s be real, she’s the only real MILF in the game at the moment.
After waiting two years for Gomira’s update, you chose Holly; the safest, most boring option on the table. The only ray of light I see in this is that Holly’s already reasonably established as a character, so there’s not as much to explore compared to a character like Anne or Gretta. Thus, I hope that this update will be smaller, and will subsequently take a lot less time to produce than Gomira’s did; this update can’t take any longer than fifteen months because it’s for a a character who’s had pretty much half her arc covered in the main story

The poll which picked Holly for 0.8 happened a few weeks after 0.6 came out, so at that point no one knew how long 0.7 was going to take to get to the finish line. And the Main Story only lost by a few votes (less than 5 I think), so I am hopeful it's going to win the 0.9 poll. Fingers crossed!
You just sound salty because you have some MILF fetish and wanted Madeline or Gretta content and didn't get it. Well, unlike you, people actually like Holly and are interested in her story too, so just accept it and move on.

Or I appreciate good storytelling which the main story has an abundance of, whereas Holly's has very little. It's okay though lad, there are a lot of people like you in the world who fail to appreciate good narratives and ways to surprise the reader, so you're not alone
Realistically, it would make sense for the main story to follow 0.8 because I think by the time Magic Nuts have released Holly's update, players will be yearning for more of that central story arc. The trouble is, that update for the main story is probably going to be just as big, if not bigger than this Gomira update, and it took two years to complete; so, considering we now have to get through Holly's update first, I fear that we won't see a continuation of the main story until at least 2028, and that's me being optimistic.

They have already said that, from now on, they plan to release those bigger updates in chunks. And the next main story update is likely to be one of those.
I really enjoyed that update, which kind of makes me mad. Mad because this game is just one of the very best of its kind but given that only two people are working on it, the pace of updates is just... yeah I think we all know about that by now. But by god, once again these two showed that if they deliver, they DELIVER. I especially liked how there were some scenes with different art styles. That was fun, that was creative! You don't often see that in many games and even less often see that done so well.
Given that they were very transparent in their communication (well, at least for game devs in this genre) I truly hope they end up with quicker releases.
The quality of the latest update makes me give them the benefit of the doubt.. for let's say the next eight months.

Fairly new to VNs, but it seems that there seems to be a lot of controvesey about the updates to games I've played recently. First Monster College, then Desert Stalker, and now What A Legend Not sure if me or VNs in general.
But I enjoyed the Gomira update a lot. Funny, great art - all stuff that makes WaL great. Not sure I'd have been happy waiting two years on Patreon (bought elsewhere), but I understand why it happened.
