Call me crazy, but I think we're gonna get another incompetency report card next week. Maybe they'll have another ready-made excuse at their disposal such as "We're having our fifth child!" or "Guys... I gotta go in for surgery again... I broke a nail". At this point I know more about the devs personal lives than what they've actually done in terms of working on the game. I just love when you work with somebody incompetent, and they throw their life story on you as a means of excusing work they just don't wanna do but could.

You know what is funny, they actually didn't need any extra excuses.
Before they started working on this update they asked their supporters if they preferred "small" or "big" updates and they picked the last option. Now the problem, there is no "big" update for comparison so if someone asked they only needed to say "But that's what a *BIGGER* update is, it requires much more time than the *smaller* ones you know."
So in my opinion they just wasted good excuses that they could very well used in other circumstances, but that's their problem now.

In the off chance that they do start giving a new excuse, how do you guys think the people would react? My guess is that there will be some expected outrage here, but the people who are still supporters are essentially cultists and they wouldn't care. So nothing would change.
It's been 2 years since I've visited this thread is the game finished/almost completed. Or is the game still being developed on?

The only reason people are complaining is because it's actually a really good game.
I wasn't looking forward to an episode all about Rose, and after 10 months of development they released a really good episode. I really got into it.
This episode, if they've stuck to their style, will probably be equally as entertaining, even if it is about an orc. The long development time aside, if the game is fun, the game is fun.
But it's also fun to pile on to the "excessive development time hate" in this thread.

I'm not a native English speaker, but as far as I understand it, an insectivore is someone who feeds on insects. A bug is an insect, and the production of this game is full of bugs, so anyone who is an insectivore is well fed. I got the joke, but I didn't find it amusing.

I do enjoy making charts, but I enjoy the game more, so I won't be disappointed. Also, when/if the update comes out we'll start over with the next update, delays, complains, progress reports, charts, etc. It's a win-win!

The game is not finished by a far stretch, and it's also not abandoned in the sense the devs keep communicating. The devs have been working on the next update for a little over two years, as they decided to go for a bigger update. There is no estimated release date, but there are progress reports, and the devs say they are close to finishing the update.
That's for the facts. Now for my personal opinion: if you're interested in the game, I'd advise you to come back and check here again at the beginning of next year.

Why this update's so long? It’s rumored that there's an incredibly tricky bug in the begining: figuring out how to have Gomira bite the MC's dick without drawing blood. You know how scary Gomira's teeth can be!

They are pretty transparent how much work there is and how much gets done.

I agree this shouldn't have the abandoned tag but, with the rules as written, it's indeed deserved.
I'm guessing it's meant to signal projects that might be scams, where devs keep posting news but never deliver an actual product, to keep milking patrons.
I personally don't think this is the case here. But other people think otherwise, and I can't say in good faith that they don't have reasons to think so.
I think our system should introduce a new tag: "milking"
