You get to choose who he loses his viginity too. Like someone else says Maple's sex scene was the first one added to the game but you're given the option to lose it to someone else. Right now you can lose it to either Maple, Lana, Myrtle, Rose, or Celestina. Pretty much any of the Li with sex scenes who don't have a prerequisite to you starting their questline. Lana's is the only one directly connected to the main quest so if you pretty much just focus on the main quest you're most likely to lose it to Lana.

The gomira update was really good, I've forgotten how amazing the art in this game is. There is so much detail to every screen, like the trinkets, posters, banners and random clutter. There was a lot of content 2, it took me a few days to complete the story [not continuous reading of course]. The devs mentioned they got things sorted now, so hopefully their release schedule gets back to normal. Anyway great game.

Porn game sfx / voice acting tend to be bottom of the barrel quality. WAL has a nice fantasy musical score and let's leave it at that. Well I think from MC's perspective the problem is IIRC King Sev told him he has like a year to live or something.
From a narrative design standpoint, the problem is the devs introduced a cool concept (gaining magical powers by fucking magical girls) but then he's fucked several magical girls since and gained nothing. So it feels like maybe they decided to drop the entire mechanic, which is a damn shame.
Agreed! Not enough people give this game credit where it's due. Not only is Chestnut's art absolutely gorgeous, not only is there a lovely soundtrack and a great script with unique wonderful ladies to romance... it's also genuinely funny. It reminds me of a slightly less crass Leisure Suit Larry, if anyone else here is old enough to have played that one. Larry, like our MC, is kind of a hapless doofus who's endlessly horny for chicks way out of his league and winds up kind of bumbling his way into their panties rather than being the stereotypical strong muscular action hero that gets the girl.
WAL's MC is a lot more wholesome than Larry though, and I like how it's neither his brains nor his looks, nor even his colossal wang, but his good and kind heart that wins him love. Really a feelgood story through and through. There are tons of porn games and VN's where the themes revolve around humiliation, misogyny, hurt/torture, harems/bondage, and cruel and dominant MC's. It's refreshing to find a game that's as relentlessly horny as WAL but is still really about finding true love, and the MC never lets his hardon dictate terms to his heart (though it certainly overpowers his brain regularly, lol).

The mechanism is not dropped; it just a bit more complex lore-wise than simply 'fuck a magical girl and you'll get it'. Only a few characters have magical 'gifts' that the MC can learn by fucking them thanks to his Master Gift. Gifts are a special kind of inherited magic that runs through the veins of the kingdom's oldest families, but these gits are dying out because having a gift apparently decreases your fertility rate. So far, only Princess Serena, Lana, and Lady Madelaine Goldenbush are known to have a gift that the MC will be able to learn. Many other girls can have different kinds of magic (curses, learned spells, or race-based magic like pixie's magic), but the MC won't learn those through sex. All of this is explained by Sev and Serena in a couple of optional convo trees. Long time ago, devs said that learning gifts will only happen in the main quest: we have already learned the 'ghost eye' magic from Lana, and we'll likely get the 'mind-reading' gift from Lady Mad in 0.9 (the next update focused on the main quest); we'll eventually get Princess Serena's gifts too (shapeshifting and teleporting) and a few others from other girls we still don't know - but only a few.
