Can we hope for a vanilla game by Fujino or it's a lost cause? :ROFLMAO:
That depends on whether his supporters wants it. So the real question is "Would his supporters pay for a non-NTR story?" Personally I say no. Fujino has only done NTR-like stories. Doing a vanilla story now is too much a change to stomach.

True that.

Well, personally most of the suggestions in this thread have been good. First things that come to mind of NTR parody doujins are a Hestia one and QQ so would like to see either Danmachi or QQ parody

It is will be a long while before Fujino starts a new game. He said after SAO he will go back and finish one of his old games. So Sakura Part 2 or Nero Remake should be after SAO. But it is still fun to fantasize what he will do next in the meantime. (y)

Kirito doesn't have a harem, it's not canon. Girls like him because of his character and they only befriend him as a companion and a friend. Sinon and Alice don't have feelings of love for Kirito, he's only for them as a friend and a companion. Kirito and Asuna are a couple, Kirito is faithful and loyal to Asuna. This picture is fan-made, not canon. I know because I can distinguish friendly relationships from loving a person. I read LN SAO
I play SAO NTR just because Asuna is sexy and one of the waifu from SAO. For me SAO NTR is just a fantasy, I am a fan of the Kirito couple. I separate canon from SAO NTR fan hentai. The sources are LN, side stories written by author Kawahara and there is no harem in LN. The girls in the SAO anime do not try to take Kirito away from Asuna, they only respect their love and support Asuna and Kirito.

Kirito is not looked down on, and he is handsome to girls, that's why girls like Kirito because of his character and appearance. Asuna loves Kirito because he is nice, good, helpful, supports her and loyal. It's not because of his gaming skills and strength, but because of Kirito's personality and appearance. And what if Kirito is slim? A guy/girl who is slim can't have a girlfriend/boyfriend? Many people and even girls like a guy who is nice, helpful, supportive and who doesn't look down on them and especially isn't aggressive. Would you rather have an aggressive friend or a nice, good and friendly one? Because I'm a guy, I'd rather have a female friend or even a female friend who is nice, good, friendly and helpful, not aggressive, selfish, horrible.
This is exactly the problem with Kirito as a character. Kirito is a Mary Sue character that is too perfect! The story need external contrived circunstances for the plot to happen instead of a character-driven plot. These types of character are bad because they do not feel realistic.

The female characters have a one-sided attraction toward Kirito that was later retconned to be just friendship and wanting to support Kirito and Asuna as couple. This retcon just make the relationship of Kirito with the female character even more contrived.

Well yeah. From the beginning Kirito was nothing more a power fantasy character designed for kids to want to self-insert into created a young guy who didn't have much life experience to draw inspiration from. Coolness was more important than realism. Even Asuna was designed to be part of that power fantasy. Being a perfect wife character who is beautiful, rich, can cook, and is strong but not as strong as the guy is everything a young boy would want from a woman.

Out of curiosity, if you seen Solo Leveling, do you have the same criticism and dislike Jin-woo the same way as Kirito?

Jin-woo in Solo Leveling is also a Mary Sue but done a little bit better:
1. Jin-woo begin the story weak before completing the trial becoming overpowered and easily defeating everyone instead of already beginning the story overpowered like Kirito.
2. The focus of the story is just on fights and powering-up.
3. The female characters also have a one-sided attraction toward Jin-woo but Jin-woo never enters any relationship.
4. There are contrived external circunstances that drive the plot but there is no excessive drama and shock value scenes.
