I havent see any good game released here for so long and also good games releases are slow af or none at all, what happened? devs dont focus that much since theres no more Covid / F95 blacklisting good games/ its me? or whats the reason? i think its a very clear decline, no offense but 90% of new games looks like a kid got a project to finish at home in 1-2 weeks to make a Visual Novel and thats the end result minus the NSFW part. So it is just me that i see that or what?

I completely agree with you , new games are either trash with same art style or really promising good games that will take ages to finish.

Like cmon dude who fucking enjoys these type of games with same plot and same boring looking characters.

Perhaps the problem doesn't reside within the many others, but rather that you have played so many games that you have become desensitized to the simple novelty of the adult video game experience?

There is nothing new under the sun - and just like movies, tv shows, novels, general video games - hundreds, thousands are churned out every year with similar storylines, concepts, etc but only very few become popular and fewer become critically acclaimed. Even fewer turn tropes on end or subvert expectations. However, most people don't attempt to see them all, read the all, etc --- but it seems there is a trend on F95 in attempting to play them all. When people do attempt to see/read all movies, tv shows, novels, etc -- similar complaints are made in those areas of entertainment as well.

Also, it is good to remember that most of the developers of the adult video games found on F95 are not full-time creators -- this is their hobby, second job, activity outside of education, a way to expand/build/develop their skills in coding/writing/art, or building their portfolio for later works.

I would agree with this but its not the case, i still like the games i played before if anything yeah maybe my expectation bar went abit higher, its just only by looking at screenshots of new games they seem very low quality and low effort renders that i cant even attempt to try em to see if they actually good since for me personally renders/animation quality comes first, im not into uncanny things etc, but lately i barely even see new games that at least "look" promising comparing to 1-2 years ago.
I was expecting this market to grow and keep getting better and better, was expecting maybe some small quality studios to start making good games etc, i prob pushed my expectation bar too high but wasnt expecting at all to be a decline, i though at worse that the "evolution" gonna be very slow with way too few expectations that i would expect and meanwhile other things related to this like 3D/2D art/animations always getting better.

Sorry man, I'll try to work faster.
well tbh you dont need to please me, im pretty pickly lol, theres plenty of fish in the water, i was thinking to make a game myself since i already made few animations/renders, but i know if ill get myself into this ill start seeing this with different eyes and i wont enjoy consuming this anymore. "If you like something dont do it" just consume/enjoy it and i dont wanna cut things from my list of things i like/enjoy

As would be expected. I didn't say you weren't liking things you already liked playing. Part of the reason would be nostalgia - because I would be willing to wager if you were to run into some of those games today for the first time that you probably wouldn't be as interested in them because of some of the arguments you made in your first post (if you were to look objectively, without already having a connection to them). You would see they have the same storylines that you see in other games; the art may not actually be as impressive as your subjectivity may tell you; you may have found some of them later in their development cycles than the new games just getting underway that you are finding today.

It would be extremely unexpected for small quality studios to get into this market. It most likely won't happen until some lucky adult video game gains mainstream acceptance (Summertime Saga probably getting the closest to this than almost any other game you find on F95). I mean, movies and tv studios and mainstream video games today are less spicy, lewd, etc than 20 years ago or 40 years ago. That's not the trend right now. Look at movie studios - except for Blumhouse and a couple of others - even horror movies are attempting to go the PG-13 instead of the R or NC-17 route.

Also, unless this is a newer account for you - it looks like you joined at the start of the COVID epidemic. Because so many people were stuck at home (and many without jobs) during that long period - there would expected to be a spike in amateur and independent adult content development. That spike made some think that there was a goldmine in "easy money" in making adult games - and so we saw a glut of opportunists joining the honest developers. As people have gone back to their 'real' jobs and lives - it would also be expected that there would be a downturn in production of new content as well as downturn in productivity of current content.

Finally, remember, for the most part - most people on here (95%+) are downloading the games from this site without the developer's consent and the players don't contribute a penny to the development of the games. Yes, there are developers which specifically upload here, or know their games are uploaded here and just accept it with the hope that some of the players will convert over to subscribers or consumers. If you are simply downloading from here and not subscribing or buying anything - there is a lot less motivation for any small studios or frustrated developers to get into the market. If they can't pay their bills, they can't afford to use their time to develop. As such - players on this site shouldn't expect anything more than they are actually getting.

Again - this is the best advice:

I mean, even if you look at Japan where they work on porn games for way longer the technology barely changed and they are still heavily using RPGM there.

We are talking about porn here, the goal is to get horny, not to get mindblown by visuals... If anything the tendency is for things to become more and more standardized, unless a new tool that makes this process even easier shows up.

Makes a good point.

Look at the golden era of adult movies of the 1970s and early 1980s (before VHS became popular) that were created for actual movie theatres (albeit with trench coats and sticky floors) - There were some that made mainstream headlines for their quality and movies like "Behind the Green Door" and "The Devil in Miss Jones" were screenings for the well-to-do, influencers, and celebrities to be seen during that time. Some of the creators and talent were even able to parlay that into some mainstream acceptance.

Now, anyone with a cellphone can (and many do) post drivel all the time on various sites - there is a glut of content out there and only a select few studios put out meaningful content with any kind of legitimate budget. Which circles back to my first post in this thread and Lerd's advice to "look harder."

You should share your gaming backlog so maybe people with clear choicess can help you.

But overall is hard to imagine there's nothing on this page that can catch your attention anymore.

It's not that the new games are so bad. The problem is something else.

I see more and more new games, but they all have the same plots, the same picture style, the same stupid colorful lighting, the same character faces. It's as if it's AI that creates them according to a preset program, not living people. I realize that it's not worth wasting my time on this because all of these projects are about to be abandoned.

Well I am one of the amateur game developers, doing bad porno games with stolen or ai generated art was easy way to learn coding and game design for me plus I was hoping of making some big bucks. I didn't get any big bucks, but at least I learned some new things about games and coding, so at least something.

Oddly enough, for me it's the opposite. Coding is easy, I've been doing it for 20 years professionally, it's the art that's hard. Sure I could swipe some renders to play around with, but I'm old school enough to want my work to be 100% my work.
