Personally I'd be surprised. Also, I think the year comes up mid Jan - there was the beta around christmas, then the full in Jan (which was one tiny additional scene and grammar fixes from memory).
Ocean's not spoken about animations or steam in detail, normally the dev logs show what he's focused on, so it would be surprising to see a release without him having spoken about steam. It's possible he'll release a beta, but seeing he changed the 2024 release date on steam, I'm not going to hold my breath.

My understanding is that she is going back for their city first and William will join later. Regardless, there is no way in hell that Miru does not found out that you fucked Daphne, mayne not right away, but she will. I think it would fall more on cheating, but I guess that Daphne could steal William from Miru, this is a interesting thought. I don't even know anymore, everyone has a defination of NTR that the original meaning is irrelevant now, it has become a umbrella term.

WiAB Chapter 4 - Dev Log #20
Hello,
I confused something, and said in the last Dev Log that the next log would be released on Christmas Eve.
And I still thought the next log had to be released on the 24th. Yesterday, however, I felt an itch to write a log and checked the date of my latest log… And yeah… I have no idea why I said Christmas Eve.
Anyway, let’s get into it.
Workstation news. Currently I’m still bottlenecked by my PC, it’s unable to render all the images created during the day.
I got the wonderful 2022 tax invoice, cried myself to sleep, and then paid it.
This means I can now finally plan for the Workstation. As it looks right now, I will order it in January.
Currently, my PC can render ~20 to 50 images a night, depending on the number of characters in the scene.
When the new Workstation arrives, the amount effectively triples. Then, the PC I’m currently using can continue rendering during the day while I set up new scenes on the Workstation.
One PC can theoretically render 24/7.
I might need to install a NAS system if I add a third PC for animations when the 50xx cards come out.
I’m still working on the treats. Robin from SG will be the next one to release.
WiAB - Season 1 - Chapter 4
Yesterday, while I checked up on what's left to do, I was a little surprised to see that we're actually closing in.
By my estimations, we're looking at around 29 days of still image rendering and the stills for Chapter 4 are done.
That's around 1300 renders left.
The number is calculated by what my PC can render a night. It doesn't matter if I can do more if he needs X time to render it.
After the still renders, I will start with the animations and render them during postwork and testing.

I mentioned on Discord that I'd be showing renders I wouldn't usually preview.
Back to work.
I'm actually getting excited now.
I'll see you in two weeks. (Maybe less because of the Robin treat).

I'm assuming Ocean won't release a beta for 4, but will release 4 as early access on steam - so the stills will be finished roughly a year after Ch3 full was released, but we still have animations left - as I imagine Ocean won't leave the end of 4 without an animation, and I'm guessing there will be a bunch of animations required to accompany some of these saucy renders.
It kinda feels like this is picking up speed a little, which is encouraging.
Also, there's a lot of landing strips. William can find his way home now.

I'm okay with the semantics in this case, I'm thinking more about how the forum allocates tags.
It's still the longest time between updates of any update I think, you'd know better than I.
But the importance to me is things are becoming more and more quantified. That is a big positive.

Chapter 1 was 17 months for less than 800 renders and 16k frames of animation, so no, it's still not the longest period of time between up dates.

Okay, so based on what's said, the stills will be 13 months after the beta for 3, then however long for the animations, and the steam approval. It's still feeling like it's gathering a bit more momentum. Momentum is good.
