It's not stated, I think it's just a nickname, but the fact he uses it infront of their mutual friends, it's something everyone knows I assume. Maybe she's a good swimmer? Or maybe there's an embarrassing story seeing he seems to be pulling her down when he says it.

Seems like one of Ocean-isms, like "bibi"
I remember Nika called Nami "You're an annoying red fish." No idea what does it mean :HideThePain:

It's probably some trauma to do with why he's called himself Ocean, plenty of fish in the sea right??? :KEK:

In German, the word for "fish" is "Fisch" (pronounced "fich"). While there isn't a direct equivalent to the English slang usage, the German word for "fish" can be used in a similar playful way in specific contexts. For example, you might jokingly call someone "Fisch" if they are gullible or if you want to playfully tease them.

Oh wow. My dumb ass always thought it had something to do with the time William spent in prison. Given that "fish" is/was the term used to refer to new prisioners in the US. To those that are newbies or lower on the "food chain".

But yeah I guess it could be a nickname, maybe tied to some childhood story. Or maybe Katie just pouts too much and that's what he started calling her.

Didn't Ocean say that Season 1 of this will be released in late 2024? At least that's what its stated when you finish Summer's Gone s1. Still waiting

That's why we have devlogs to read - here's the most recent. We're getting quite close to the release. Ocean's probably in the second guessing everything stage at the moment, I guess.
