With rendering done, post work should be more fast - I think - maybe not a March release but a early April because Steam. I can't remember but did not Ocean hired a codder ? I am hoping that this log gives us - or rather his patreon- a clear indication of when the update might drop.



Why so much Leia hate ? Her only crime was love too much. And sexual exploration and drugs deals. In a more serious tone, I get why people hates Leia but at the same time I am surprised with how much they hate her. So far I can't see a reason for hate the amount some people do. Sure she is a bitch, but bitch girls are clearly a Ocean kinky as much as thicc ones, and has some shady business, that we know next to nothing. As far as a pimp and drug dealers can go, Leia might be the most ethical one

There is a sheer FUCK-tonne of work left after all the animations are done. But Ocean's done the renpy rodeo more than once, so he'll have been doing a fair bit of it as he went I'm guessing. I'm still hopeful of something soonish. I mean, if he said all the renders are done for the animations as well? We'd know it's really close. He'll still need to get testers to play it make sure there's no continuity errors with any branches he might have put, ie making sure there's no NTR on the vanilla playthrough etc. But I'm hopeful

Leia hate: well, she kinda hate's Willi the whole way through the game so far. Sure there's the tension, but I'd just hang out with Dylan and Katie and tell her to fuck off with her games. Her reaction to his imprisonment? 'Don't come NEAR my club!!! Argggghhh!!!' I mean, she pushes him away when he's trying to be good. She's worn me out with her tantrums. Katie actually listens to Willi, takes stuff on board, and isn't blinded by her 'love'. And her infatuation with Willi isn't love. She had an obsession, she kept it alive.

She can't forgive Willi for not being who she remembers.

What should Willi do? Become a fetish doll of himself for her to play with?

Other reasons - holding a grudge against Mon this whole time and wanting Willi to seduce her? Messed up. Being a drug dealer who uses muscle thugs to protect her pimp club? Messed up. She might not be the worst person in the game later on, but right now she is. She's the only criminal we actually know of. We're told about Krayt and the cult, but we know as much as WIlli about them or Asavera, and it's almost entirely because of Leia. Who is (currently) actually worse than her?

But as a source of drama, she's GREAT.

I want more plots to open up fast. I think the reason I've never been into WiAB much is I'm just not interested in most of the characters or current plotlines.

- I want to hang out with Gina more.
- I want to know more about Kat's teacher problem.
- I want Katie to have something else (more interesting) going on other than trying to get Leia's money to launch her clothing line.
- I want Miru to have something else going on other than clinging to William. Maybe it's too soon for the fighting studio but the porn thing doesn't interest me in the least.
- More info on Willi's background from the time he left Wollust till the start of the game could be interesting. Including prison time.
- I want William to make up for what he did to Mon.

I couldn't care less about Asavera, Krayt, Helen's accident, the drug dealing, the pimping, the spiders, uncle Joe, etc...

Let's see where this goes. And how is gonna dig himself out of the no parental relation hole. With Ocean's track record I'm expecting I'm gonna be shitting on this one too for years to come

- I'm guessing Gina will be a definite source of worthy plots. Aside from the lewd things about her boyfriend, I think she'll be important to the Krayt plotline in some way - she's the one bringing it up, and I can imagine Willi will be doing more to them than what he did to bathroom boy.
- Kat's teacher problems I'm guessing will be tied to Donna. Which makes that who thing very mysterious. I kinda thought maybe Helen and Kat on the porch could be Kat telling Helen all about it, because she know Helen can keep the secret. But them I wonder if the intruder makes their presence known before or after that. At least we know Kat's got an eventful night in store.
- I kinda see Katie's plots as being fairly introspective, they'll revolve maily around what happened to caus Willi to leave, and she'll offer him a way to reintegrate to Wollust, seeing she's the social one, not Leia.
- Well her trip away and seeing her naked in their old apartment suggest there's going to be something going on. Maybe this time while she's back home, her ninja family find her? Or the bad guys, whoever they are trap her alone. Hopefully her gaming session won't be a tabletop experience...
- Yes, like layers of an onion. Ocean will draw it out I'm sure, something left for chapter 5 at least. Ch5 will probably hav a cliffhanger with relevations, or whatever chapter Ocean ends the 1st season on.
- Yes, Mon deserves something nice. I hope the nice thing isn't only Willi seducing her, but there is a chance to treat her honourably if we chose. I hate that most games act like bang LI=good, reject LI=hate. I'd hope for a more mature approach to her path.

I'll start from the Nami thing. I didn't like Nami until the rework, because she was so obsessed. Now, she seems more balanced. We're also seeing her from Nika's perspective, just like we see Leia from Willi's. IN SG Nami purshes Nika to be better, more social, and even accept his interest in other LI's. You don't have to respond to her as a LI, and she'll accept it. It's only if you're playing around while going for her that she gets jealous. Here, Willi and Leia's story is baked in, we don't know really anything yet. But three chapters worth of Leia's snark, with no redeeming feature is my opinion. Too hard basket, pass on that one.

And we see the flashback, she was obsessed while Willi was still into video games. She was an afterthought to him at that point, just something different. Who knows how that changed? But Mon was pretty much right before he left town, so in his mind, he still wasn't committed to Leia until he did THAT to Mon.

What I'm getting at is that the relationship they had was not 100% balanced or reciprocal at any given point. Willi is mercurial. He gets emotional, but can immediately be a bastard. BUt he's grown into someone Leia doesn't know, and that more than anything is what she's struggling with. He's not who she is obsessed with in her mind, he isn't the image she has of him, that she wants to torture.

As some point there will be a reset with her, maybe at the start of the new chapter, but I still will think she's not worth the effort. I prefer her as a source of story drama than a LI.

I agree that "bitch girls are clearly a kinky Ocean" but Bella is mostly harmless, Leia is straight up criminal.
Furthermore, not knowing the new dynamics of William's disappearance well, it is difficult to say how excessive she is in her reactions, at least for me.

WiAB Chapter 4 - Dev Log #25

Hello,

So, I've finished setting up the story still renders, but they haven't fully rendered yet. The queue finishes ~20-25 renders in 8h and there's currently 200 renders in the queue.

Me waiting for them to finish.



It takes this long because it's that big scene with all the characters.

I noticed that if you want to add another character to a scene this big, it takes almost 20min for it to load in.

The bigger the scene, the longer it takes for a new character to load in... I have no idea why Daz is that way.

Still Renders created over the past 12 days: 331 (214 for WIAB). I'm currently working on the animations and I think I've done around 7 in the past few days.

Render count: 3871 -> ~ 4085 (I added the ones in the queue, too.) I can give you a final render count after I'm done with postwork.

The current focus is on the the lewd animations. I could technically do 4-5 a day... But I noticed that the quality suffered as a result.

I've taken yesterday to test the timings for different animations. I have a big whiteboard here and it's now full of animation timings and a few drawings of tiddies.

At first I tested how many frames it really needs to have a good boob jiggle, then I did the same with the ass, hair, thighs, nipple piercings, and ear-rings.

The boob tests gave me a good base to work with. With hair I'm kinda familiar with as OG SG players will know.

Anyways, I can probably do 2-3 lewd animations a day now. They take significantly longer to set up, but the detail speaks for itself.

Extras
With the new Chapter I will introduce collectibles and new viewpoints.

I still have to code it in, create a gallery for it, and render 47 collectible renders. (CH1 to CH4)

It would be weird if the first three Chapters didn't have any to collect, so I'll add them there too.

Who and how many collectibles does X get:

My 49" monitor is getting old and grey... Literally, I have a weird grey-fog on it. (I tried Nvidia settings, reinstalling, etc.) I just hope nothing is off with the postwork.

It's happening on both PCs with just this monitor. The other one is totally fine.

I'll upgrade the monitor when I see a 49" on sale.

WiAB Chapter 4 - Dev Log #25

Hello,

So, I've finished setting up the story still renders, but they haven't fully rendered yet. The queue finishes ~20-25 renders in 8h and there's currently 200 renders in the queue.

It takes this long because it's that big scene with all the characters.

I noticed that if you want to add another character to a scene this big, it takes almost 20min for it to load in.

The bigger the scene, the longer it takes for a new character to load in... I have no idea why Daz is that way.

Still Renders created over the past 12 days: 331 (214 for WIAB). I'm currently working on the animations and I think I've done around 7 in the past few days.

Render count: 3871 -> ~ 4085 (I added the ones in the queue, too.) I can give you a final render count after I'm done with postwork.

The current focus is on the the lewd animations. I could technically do 4-5 a day... But I noticed that the quality suffered as a result.

I've taken yesterday to test the timings for different animations. I have a big whiteboard here and it's now full of animation timings and a few drawings of tiddies.

At first I tested how many frames it really needs to have a good boob jiggle, then I did the same with the ass, hair, thighs, nipple piercings, and ear-rings.

The boob tests gave me a good base to work with. With hair I'm kinda familiar with as OG SG players will know.

Anyways, I can probably do 2-3 lewd animations a day now. They take significantly longer to set up, but the detail speaks for itself.

Extras
With the new Chapter I will introduce collectibles and new viewpoints.

I still have to code it in, create a gallery for it, and render 47 collectible renders. (CH1 to CH4)

It would be weird if the first three Chapters didn't have any to collect, so I'll add them there too.

Collectibles are extra images that you can unlock.

Who and how many collectibles does X get:

Miru: 6 collectibles + 2 ntr collectible

Leia: 6 collectibles + 1 ntr collectible

Daphne: 2 collectibles

Katie 6 collectibles + 1 ntr collectible

Monica: 5 collectibles

Gina: 4 collectibles + 1 ntr collectible.

Kata: 4 collectibles

Dana: 4 collectibles + 1 ntr collectible

Helen: 5 collectibles

With Chapter 5 I'll introduced another sort of collectible. It's awesome.

Sometimes the leaf won't unlock a render and instead it shows you a different point of view... and sometimes even behind closed curtains...

As soon as the update is live, I'd love some feedback on these two thingies.

I'm not sure if I have told you that before, but I counted the lines and just judging by the lines of dialogue and code, Chapter 4 has ~11.000.

Chapter 1 - 3 have 12.000.

Other stuff:
I've picked up a Python course again. While I never plan to become a first class coder, I'd like to have a base understanding of what's going on.

What led me to do it is that Blender is also based on Python, and while I never planned to create my own addons/scripts, it might be a way to cut down mundane work in the future.

Even something as "simple" as a random-dresser for background characters would go a long way.

I'm enjoying the course, and whatever I learn, I immediately try out in Ren'Py itself. It gave me a few neat ideas. (Hour-long freeroams... just kidding.)

I'll start from the Nami thing. I didn't like Nami until the rework, because she was so obsessed. Now, she seems more balanced. We're also seeing her from Nika's perspective, just like we see Leia from Willi's. IN SG Nami purshes Nika to be better, more social, and even accept his interest in other LI's. You don't have to respond to her as a LI, and she'll accept it. It's only if you're playing around while going for her that she gets jealous. Here, Willi and Leia's story is baked in, we don't know really anything yet. But three chapters worth of Leia's snark, with no redeeming feature is my opinion. Too hard basket, pass on that one.

And we see the flashback, she was obsessed while Willi was still into video games. She was an afterthought to him at that point, just something different. Who knows how that changed? But Mon was pretty much right before he left town, so in his mind, he still wasn't committed to Leia until he did THAT to Mon.

What I'm getting at is that the relationship they had was not 100% balanced or reciprocal at any given point. Willi is mercurial. He gets emotional, but can immediately be a bastard. BUt he's grown into someone Leia doesn't know, and that more than anything is what she's struggling with. He's not who she is obsessed with in her mind, he isn't the image she has of him, that she wants to torture.

As some point there will be a reset with her, maybe at the start of the new chapter, but I still will think she's not worth the effort. I prefer her as a source of story drama than a LI.

We also have some implications as to how she responded to Nika and Summer relationship, not much better than Leia - though still better- and the circumstances also were not the same. My point is that I can easily see a more bitter, Leia like, version of Nami if things were a bit more different. Nami by the whole S1 is pushing boundaries with Nika, sure in the rework she is less obsessed but she still heavily pursues Nika. The lake, the jucuzzi, are all hard coded. Also Nami do get jealousy, very much so, only when Nika is on her and other paths ? Sure. But this is what William was doing or at least what is insinuated that he was doing. I honestly can see much parallels between William and Leia and Nika and Nami. Not to enter on the discussion about changes - as I will refrain to discuss those- but this is the reason I think that Leia will get the Nami treatment. Everything changes but nothing really does.

Yeah, but we are not talking adults here, and the timelines doesn't help. When was that flashback ? When did the Mon thing happened ? There are 14 years old fucking in the world. Sure Leia was more invested than him. But she was what a 14 to 16 years girl who was high on her first love ? I don't really see how she can be a fault here. And William was just too imature to dealt with it all and fled when shit hit the fan, leaving his - something- behind. I can sympathize with Leia. Does this makes okay to become a criminal ? No. Does this justifies her behavior towards William ? Absolutely.

About William not being the same person. I absolutely agree. This is another thing for Leia. She never really got any closure to William, she did not got the chance to scream, punch, ignore him, instead she just give up on living. But the thing is. The William who she could/should done that no longer exists, he is a different person, but he still is the person who left her behind. She tries to ignore it but she can't. The whole bar scene was about it. How she don't know how to act around him, how he can get under her skin. The jail thing is not about she making the thing about her, is about how this information changes how she viewed William up to that point, and he drops the bomb and fuck out, to have a upper hand, of course she is pissed. I am not defending Leia as a LI, or trying to recruit you, I am just elaborating on why I find her character so interesting.
