That has to be expected, or better to say, that depends what version will be leaked here first. The steam version or the stuff from SS, both versions will most likely have different save locations. And hand on heart, for 95% of the normal zoners here, copying saves from one directory to another is an insurmountable obstacle.
We will be steam rolled here after the release from pebcak and 1di0t error users ...
I can't - or don't want - even imaging how much the SG thread will suffer after the the next release because of exact this reason.

WiAB - Chapter 4 - #XX
Hello,
It's been six business days since I submitted the game, and I haven't heard anything yet. Neither from Steam nor GOG.
Some other small bits of info.
won't be updating the gallery for Chapter 4. I would have to redo it all again with the next update and the new main menu design.
Saves work. None of my testers had any issues.
The new update's playtime is around 4-7 hours (as Reported by testers). I know some 201 IQ lads will finish it in 20 minutes. 4 rp/s (Renders per second.)
The pricing on Steam and GOG will be $9,99 + a 20% launch discount.
I have a backup of the new update so that no matter what happens, I can upload the final version of it.
The reason why I'm even mentioning it is that I have had two bluescreens in the past 3 weeks, and twice my Workstation didn't start.
(I did a sys-scan and it found damaged files and repaired them. I haven't had a bluescreen since but it's only been like 10 days.
Today again, I was forced to restart because of a graphic glitch and it took about five minutes to shutdown, and then hitting the power button didn't do anything. The light didn't switch on, but the insides started up.
About ten minutes later, it sprang to life.
I checked for an error code on the mainboard, but it kept switching around between different codes.
It makes me so anxious.
What doesn't make me anxious is the upcoming release... Finally, man.
Please hurry up Steam and GOGi.

Good news, the changes do not touch variables... I'm still going to start it from scratch.

I'm not hating on him to be clear. I back L&P who is pretty much doing the same. This is a much better story though. I'd be willing to just read it as I've been getting back into reading. That says something about the game.

So no subcribestar or Patreon, or will they be updated after he gets it on Steam?

Wiab has no patreon page, it got nuked. And the subs won't get the chance to leak it before it's available on steam/gog. If I were Ocean, I'd release gog a couple of days after steam, as Ocean getting the game solidly supported on steam gives metrics that can increase the reach of the game on steam.

GOG is a bit different, since they pride their releases on no matter what you OWN the game. So, with that, you can download an offline installer if GOG ever dies.
Steam and GOG are really no different in the way you get them from Patreon or SS or Itch (whever) besides them being a market release which can be ran on any OS in a single package.
Some games also use Steam DRM which is pretty easy to bypass but there is only a handful of Ren'Py Steam games that deploy DRM.
I think Summers Gone had a bunch of bonus things for Steam if I remember right.

Was this teaser showed on discord? After seeing this here, I have taken a look in the discord but found nothing. At least not in the patreon or announcements channels.

Nah, Ocean mentioned it though - it needed to be uploaded for the steam submission for them to check. There was a little bit of discussion about it.

Yeah, the GOG installers seem to be the bare minimum - if WiaB has DLC's they'll likely be separate downloads, and you don't have to use their launcher to install, which is a big plus for me.
