When people live for 8 decades or so, rounding to the nearest decade is a pretty inaccurate way to approximate time. Tell everyone who has a four year old they haven't even got a kid by your rounding.

Where it all began - Chapter 4 - Dev Log #15
Hello,

I did quite a bit of writing over the past couple of days, continued to work on doing some animations in Blender, and also started rendering some new scenes in Daz.

The whole endeavor with visiting my family and the 7h long drive sadly completely ruined my sleep schedule again, and it took me a day to get back on track. (Thanks neighbours and their early morning drilling.)

But on the days I was able to work, good progress was made.

Previews:
I changed my mind last minute about what previews to show. I decided to keep the scene a secret, and instead, you'll get some more emergency Katie.

A rather short dev log and also a day late. But sometimes I'm just so in the zone that the hours just fly by and under no circumstances do I want to interrupt my hyperfocus-sessions.

I came up with some new ideas for some mini-cinematics... But I will have to do some tests first, because I think proper sounddesign is the key here. No music, but ambient sound.

I'll see if I can create these sounds myself by either recording their real counterpart, or by software.

We'll see. I'll keep you guys updated.

Hello,

I think if we consider SG, he's already done a minimum of 2500 renders, up to 4000 renders (5-8k anticipated) while we have a ton of different scenes with different backgrounds. This emergency Katie is from an earlier previewed scene with Kata if I remember correctly. So the holdup is really Ocean second guessing the direction of the game/future proofing - he can get the renders finished in time based on SG workflows. I'd rather he DOESN'T rush the writing just to get me more Katie sooner, I'll survive on previews for a while yet. If he must fiddle with the story (which will have repurcussions all the way through the series as this is foundational), I'd rather he now measure 5 times before cutting, so to speak. But tomorrow is also a good day for a release, I won't deny it.

Based on the SG workflow, the WIAB up date was released a month and a half ago.
And seriously, the still renders are not the concern, as long as it's 2500 renders and not 3500/4000 (I hope he just exaggerated) but all the added work in animations, that's time consuming.

I am not holding my breath for anything before February, he is aiming at bigger updates plus animations, and now it seems he is written/rewritten the game to accommodate the changes. Then we have post-work, testings and Steam. Don't think that December is a likely release, I am not too bumped about it though, if the update is big enough.

Suicide if you ask me....especially if SG gets its 'promised' update before the end of the year. If that also gets pushed back....I think I'll just leave both threads for a while to be honest...they will be unbearable.

I think that WiaB still is updated first, SG seems that will be even bigger, plus phone code, import saves, new ui and code is not Ocean strength.That said, is not impossible that SG is put out first, as now is the only thing that brings money and the people who switch to SS, are die hard fan. Will need a lot to those people to jump the boat.

I think that there is good arguments that a December release is possible, I just kinda prefer to damp my expectations. First week of february seems like a more comfortable one, if comes before all the better.
