Well, that assumes we know the plot. Finding out what Leia's doing illegally is something we had no knowledge of. It advances her character and motivations, and makes her calling William in some fashion rather suspect. We also see the fact she can reach William is probably due to Emilio and her own criminal empire she's building. So I'd say that the appearance of Emilio, the scenes with Leia at the club DO advance the plot. We simply don't know what is currently the important information, just like WIlliam. Even if I don't know about old Donna, her character creates some sense that something is off, that there are things happing surreptiously.

It's also been 2 (?) days William's been back. Hardly enough time to reconcile a decade of absence and grievance. I think his meeting with Leia at the start of Ch4 is likely to advance things in that direction quite fast (as well as all the Katie gym renders).

Again, I don't really disagree with anything. Maybe we have different things in mind when talking about plot advancement. My original point was that Ch3 wasn't, in my view, more fast-paced than the other two regarding LIs' relationships. The plot did move, but not considered more fast than the others or in a significant matter; everything still is kinda the same as it was when the update started. We learn a few new things, advance a few more relationships, but nothing really changed. As you even said, we don't really know the plot yet or how those bits of information form a whole. I'm not saying it's bad; just that the pace has been consistent since the start. Each update we learn a little more and advance a little more, and Ch3 wasn't different. I don't see a reason why Ch4 would be.

Well, that's exactly what we've been talking about since the log. WIAB was banned for incest, being that the new version only has sexual scenes with Miru, imagine what a “worried” anonymous consumer can do if he makes the connection between both stories...

That's why my position (and some others) is to rip that band-aid off, so that there is no room for interpretation by some Patreon reviewer.

I agree, but the question then becomes what is under the band-aid ? Is still a fresh wound that is healing or is a something that can be exposed with out fear of a infection ? - maybe the worse analogy ever - because Ocean had ripped the band-aid off and shortly after he put it back on. I don't know and we will only know once Ch4 comes out, maybe he dosent really wants to change his story or is not 100% sure of what alteration is the best. I am just have a feeling, after the change in the devlog, that this may not be as clear as we thought, at least reguarding Leia.

I quite agree, and I do not know anything, I am just speculating, I am not saying that this or that will happen this way or that way. Just how some new information makes me to think on how he will handle some topics, is not like things are that much clear in SG either. I would prefer the band-aid off and now we have a new reality or we do not, I just am less sure if is really the route he will go.

i have a good feeling three quarters of the characters in summers gone are in some way from the zane family.. in the end they will find out they all banged each other and are related lol.

I do not know, but it stand to reason that if his reason to change the relationship status of Helen, Kate, Kat, Scarlet and Dylan was to avoid problems he keeping Leia and William related may signify that she will no longer be a LI. Again I do not know anything I am just musing.

Very much doubt that, Ocean will not risk it, maybe before all the reworks it was a possibilite but if it once was I don't think it is anymore. Neither WiaB or SG will feature incest.

Yes, it has been like that from the beginning... but, after the ban on patreon, and the need to protect SG, many things could change... And that's the open debate, neither Steam nor SS ban incest, so the original story could be told without a "nothing related to dev" patch, but that would mean problems for SG patreon (currently the most consistent cash inflow for Ocean) if the WIAB story makes any SG character a child of incest or, even worse, the MC is related to any LI.

i totally understand money is behind the reasons the story is told the way it is but i fear that because of that it will eventually take away from the story. if it cant be written the way it was meant to be then how long will ocean want to make a VN that cant properly be told and just focus on SG because that is clearly the biggest money maker for him. which sucks because WIAB is the better story and the character's are just as good of not better than SG.. i fear eventually it will get abandoned or just postponed for a very long time. like right now waiting on a update because im sure SG has a much higher priority

In return I will answer you what Ocean always tells me “I will never abandon WIAB, no matter what happens, it will take as long as it has to take but I will not abandon it”.

And although we have had back and forth about many issues, I believe him (until I get depressed and go out to criticize him fiercely, that is, first I send him a DM with the same thing I'm going to write in public).

I believe that is true but at 1 update a year SG will probably go at least 5 to 7 years maybe more. Waiting until 2030 for WIAB to be a priority is a long time lol loooooooong time

I would consider Ocean removing the original premise of his story equivalent to him abandoning his vision for the story and his heart will never be in it as much as if he stuck to it.

Should be this week I think.

I'm just hoping for a good story with lots of Katie, and plenty of cloak and dagger shenanigans. I think it'll be great even if it's different to what I thought it would be when I first discovered it pre-rework. The original premise was pretty much stumbled into playing the pre-rework - Ocean's not the same person he was back then, none of us are. He's probably refined his sense of what is uniquely WiaB and can't be altered, and what parts were just being provocative for their own sake.

As long as I keep enjoying it and Ocean keeps rendering, I'll probably pay attention.

I'm eagerly waiting for the next update of WiaB and hope Ocean does the steam release by December or at least January 2025. Looking forward to the story and how it unfolds in the future update.
