That they are allies is clear, but there should be men loyal to Helen (or Dylan)
Again and again and again. Tony probably took what was left of the family's muscle with him. He looks like he ran them.

Dylan's plan is understandable: he appears weak in order to lure some of the attackers into a trap and track down the mastermind. The problem is that the Zanes don't appear weak, they are.
You're not wrong there. Dylan does not seem to be the brains of the family, and that might have something to do with the brother and sister heading off on their own.

I agree, either Abigail Spencer is the worst cop ever, or else the most corrupt. It's strange that when we go to her office, there's not an Internal Affairs agent sitting at her desk watching her every move XD

But it seems like a separation that happened a long time ago, it's strange that they haven't bolstered the ranks.
See, my impression was that it was recent, after Joe went apeshit on the Krayt boss and got sent to prison. I don't know why, I'd have to replay it again to see, but I've got so many games waiting for runs right now, and I just finished this.

Also, Wollust doesn't seem to be a huge city, like where Will, Daphne, and Miru were living. It seems more like a small city or town. There's only one police station.

The thing is, Joe is being released in a few weeks. If he almost beat a guy to death, he'd be getting a few years in prison, at least.

No one looks at Abagail and thinks "wow, what a proper cop."

Didn't someone higher up the chain than her call off the Helen investigation?

I'll give you the impression that this is a separation that happened in the past, from how the feds treat the other coppers of the Zane family, as established in their "domains." Or at least that's the impression it gives me.

I wonder how much evidence about Helen he made disappear

Which is why all of his muscle are now loyal to Leia, she's had time to promote and manipulate them into being hers.

Yeah, she has a boss, a superintendant if not the mayor, or burgomeister, or whatever the fuck Wollust uses. In this case, when the Feds take over a case the local cops are either brought in or ordered to stand down.

I wouldn't say manipulate, they saw her take over his operation and likely just continued as is.
I doubt they called Joe 'Princess' ...or maybe that's why it was so easy for Leia to take over? And not just the muscle. The Bibis, Ladies and Serpents evolved out of Joes establishment. Lei'as gone and built her team within the existing structure.

The talk Leia will have with Joe will be interesting. I'm wondering if Joe left Emilio and Riri to oversee Leia, and that's why they insisted she call William.

This!
I was too lazy to plot out that, but yeah, it looks like Wollust is owned by the Families. I think they could even make it look like a legitimate exception on documents. For example, the Zane family rents out a building on their land next to their house (the guest house) to the Wollust Social Service.
They send kids there with certain life circumstances, ofc the candidates would be Leia and William. Social Service contracts with the Zanes to run this branch of the orphanage. EDIT: Under the service representative supervision, of course.
The Zanes also make a generous donation to Social Service, blah, blah...

Did these details change anything in the plot? Nothing. They're just unnecessary details. Well, except maybe for some distrustful players.
I found a nice plot hole: since Katarina is all about sports and Lucas is only interested in internet activities, who’s going to be Arano's heir?

I know we constantly rehash this over and over.

I really enjoy WIAB/SG (post-original render upgrades) because:

(a) I can invest myself in the characters (even the ones I despise).

(b) I like the overall emotional audio-visual resonance/experience, and

(c) I enjoy the interpersonal interactions between OceanVerse characters.

Thus, I am happy to overlook overarching plot flaws (present in all iterations), use of porn logic, fantastical/improbable elements, and the use of the Genglish language [DISCLAIMER: I don't play AVNs for any particular fetishes, so I have no particular expectations in that regard].

I mean, WIAB/SG, like most AVNs, are closer to 70s European porn than some grand Dennis Potter screenplay [and Potter's 'The Singing Detective' screenplay is a masterpiece in presenting an incomprehensible jigsaw puzzle that only fits together and makes perfect sense at the very end].

Both WIAB/SG could have gone either way (original intent versus reworked intent) and I would still enjoy them, warts and all.

The added bonus of playing WIAB/SG is getting to read multiple perspectives and participate in some interesting debates here on F95.

PS - it doesn't matter what version of these AVNs we enjoy as players, we ALL concoct justifications to ignore/downplay flaws present in our preferred version.

Are you sure that Arano's heir will be an Arano? Are you sure that family will exist by the times of SG?

Lucas is actually researching how to be mafia on the internet, and is reading this forum right now to get tips from RNasc :KEK:

He probably passed the MC president title to someone else, presumably the MC is still around assuming he is the one Nika met

Is Lucas' research primarily focused on playing GTA?
Weellllll.... maybe a little? I mean what else is there that could help a young mafioso learn accurate and true ways to navigate a traumatic world with fast cars like Leia's?
