I know what you mean, and i have basicly the same opinion like you.

But what really triggers me is the fact that no matter what Ocean would have done with the update/rework, some people wouldn't have cared at all.
The update was too short, too long, the model is no longer to my taste, the story is suddenly different, false information is spread that this release would have been unnecessary because it only contains filler content or it would already be the umpteenth rework and so on.
Ocean is well aware of the content/time ratio and has also said so in the discord itself. The whole thing from duds who you don't see in the thread for months, but come crawling out of their hole after an update, talk everything down and immediately throw around the term milker in an almost inflationary manner. Only to then (fortunately) piss off again until the next update and the game starts all over again...

I had and I have my criticisms, towards the times but more to the communication (this post that you shared seems to me magnificent, but it was not necessary to get to this moment to warn, he even left his health by stress) But I must say that I fully agree with you in the anger that gives people who do not contribute money say that Ocean milks his patreons.

Tbh, I didn't care if she was asian or whatever. I just felt you where already trapped into a relationship from the get go where you might end up later drop her to pursue other li's. Which in turn just make the mc look like a bastard.

Finally played the remake. Ok yeah, now I understand why it took so long. And while I clearly am praising his work for detail. I feel like he either forgot or neglets the 80/20 rule. It's visually fantastic, really, but not efficient nor required.

For those unaware: The Pareto Principle, suggests that 20 percent of your work will account for 80 percent of your results.
This applies to everything: Work, economics and so on, programming and game design included.

To put it in perspective: How much did you (the player) inspect every single detail of every scene in the game? Because I can easily assume each single detail took around months to get it just right like he wanted it to. The average joe will only glance at it for a few seconds and move on.

Except if he wants this game to be his magnum opus to his life because of the amount of time it takes, he better starts cutting corners where necessary real soon because he set the bar WAY too high for such a small developer, there's a good reason why most small indie developers graphics ain't cut of the art compared to a big studio one and even the latter takes months if not years in completing their work just to get those very same details right.

I like the work but I can't say that it will be a healthy project ,unless he changes things because it's simply way too difficult to keep the same amount of quality (especially compared to the pay-off).

It's been a long time since i checked up on this game. After i heard about the rework i just decided to patiently wait for him to finish it. Now that it's done, I'll try this again. I'm curious to see what's different about this from the old since i played that one since the start.
