Its all about the depth and cheracter development ofc in most other games you basicly have no storys or heavy decissions only harem sex scenes than you can have 8 cheapters and end the game with no story you dont need time for cheracter development or skill in writting but if you want cheracter development and a deep and meaningful story there is no way that this is possible with 8 or 10 cheapters unless ocean has a full team behind him and the cheapters are way longer so yes if you want qualitiy with ocean as one man army it will be probably be over 20 cheapters
yes and no, that is, I partially agree. We already see many vn with many chapters, as a basis for a more developed story, but I do not agree that it is a necessity for character development. Ocean himself teaches how to establish personality and characteristics in little space, here in the old WIAB with Katie, he only needed a flashback scene to show all the depth of a character that in principle only seemed the hollow harpy, in SG with only the old initial sequence (I read that he changed it) you already understood totally the world where the MC is buried, the darkness, the rain, the loneliness, the contempt for others and for life itself.
For my part, I think the mistake was to announce their idea of having 30 chapters, although if we see the old WIAB, the chapters were not so long, the story advanced in another manner and it was logical to need that amount, but if you see SG, each entire chapter is huge, and the more time passes, the more huge it will be, unless the characters disappear certain chapters and the arcs evolve individually through skipped chapters.
