Bleh. Such a damn good game that I've kept tabs on almost since day1.
Gotta say. I keep seeing new chapters posted but since there is no harem I just can't bring myself to play anymore.
You guys made all the girls so good I just can't fucking pick. So I won't.

Don't develop all the characters so well if you don't want to go for a harem option as a developer. There's a reason why side characters should be just side characters in such a case.
I don't care if the developer originally didn't intend to go for a harem path. The way he developed all the characters including their interactions with the MC made it nearly impossible for quite a lot of players not to go for it.
So, now the developer should do simply both: Plan out the game with multiple endings as he already intended to do but also add an ending with a harem path to it. Then everyone is satisfied.

When I play these I'm not looking for 100% realism, as long as it's 50% believable and 50% accounted for by a somewhat decent explanation that's enough in my books.

I don't know if this was patched since then (since I didn't play again), but remember the first scene in EP17? The discussion about what happened in Jolinas Bedroom? That happened regardless of wheter or not you actually went with her into that bedroom. The dev WANTED you to play around with her. The Nerd-Girl gave you her blessing, even pushed you to do it, as you would expect from a harem game.

If you play without a harem in mind, this game is frankly boring and lacks the appeal to play it multiple times every time a new patch comes out... the days just fly by with barely any content, unless you go for all the girls simultaniously. Are there ANY Events or scenes in this game you don't get to see, unless you limit yourself to a specific character? Not that I know of. So why should anyone excercise "self-control or discipline" in the first place???

Let's be realistic here, the people who are so disappointed at no getting a harem, that they're no longer playing or going to play the game, didn't care enough to ever read the thread or notice the lack of harem tag. They expect it. Much like the people who confuse this for an incest game and erroneously call the incest mod, a patch - they expect it to be an incest game.

This is far from the only porn game where the MC doesn't have a harem, and those who're "butt hurt" over not getting one, only care about the pics, not the story or characters. They see themselves as the MC, and all the women as theirs regardless.

"update only" means UPDATE ONLY (not a whole game), and applying it (ie updating a game) usually requires some patching/patch.

They are 2 diff things , Update is a straight download of the game which will be small just the next chapter or w/e. Then a patch will be like incest or something u may have to fix. Thats the whole point of what i was saying.

You're purposefully restricting those words to suit your point of view, when in reality both have different meanings according to the context surrounding those words, even going as far as deliberately ignoring the word "only" in the very post you're replying to.

A patch is not solely for incest. For this game it absolutely is not for incest.
This isn't an incest game, that's why there's a mod that adds it, by changing more than just character relationships, but the core of the story and rewriting huge swathes of dialogue.
Hotfixes are patches.
Bigfixes are patches.

No it's not the point. Being able to name the MC is nothing more than a courtesy, and it's not always implemented.

As much as a game's protagonist is our avatar inside of a world being presented, they are not us. It's not our story, it's the story which the dev guides us through, regardless of choices presented.

No it doesn't need to include harem, there's been good games that's only focused on 1 FMC with side girls. Porn is easier, but immersion porn is much harder, and literally every other thing out there is step sisters and boring. As for WVM, yeah you have a good looking dude with a millionaire future getting a lot of girls, that's reasonable enough for this genre.
