Go to your "game" directory of old version and copy the "saves" folder to the new "game" directory and select to overwrite. Should work what issue are you having?

There are two save locations, one is the local save. You can find it in your game folder under game/saves. And the 2nd one is the backup, if you start playing a newer version of the game, so you can continue where you have left. You can access it with %appdata%, search for renpy and your wished game. In this case it is probably: "WhereTheHeartIs-1519902503"
You will get all 11 episodes. But i would recommend you to be a bit patient and wait for the full version. Because in the "Episode 11 Alpha" you are missing 2 sex scenes. The developer has probably published today the full version for his patreons. So it should be uploaded in the next few days here on this forum.

That doesn't bother me at all. I chose the ladies over the money anyway. The MC is still going to be rich even if he doesn't get the rest of the inheritance. He get to keep the car, the beach house, and the $100k regardless. I've never seen a beach house anywhere that was worth less than a couple million. So the MC could sell it and still live comfortably for the rest of his life if he isn't stupid with his money.
