I was referring to unavoidable scenes not involving the MCs, but I would be interested in knowing if there will be lewd scenes forced regardless of choice, whether that be coercion, blackmail or something else entirely. FWIW I'm a loyalty route guy and really enjoying this so far. A lot of these type games don't offer that route so I thank you! What do you mean by forced scenes ? scenes using coercion or unskippable scenes where npcs get-together ?
The only unavoidable sex scenes for FMC or MMC will be the ones happening between them. The ones involving others will be avoidbale.I was referring to unavoidable scenes not involving the MCs, but I would be interested in knowing if there will be lewd scenes forced regardless of choice, whether that be coercion, blackmail or something else entirely. Yes you have summed up my plans for the sandbox perfectly. The idea is that you can click on certain locations on certain days and time to continue with different events( or stories or episodes as you put it). And as the story progress each event will have increasing stat requirements. I also plan to have a few locations where you can "grind" some extra stats only if you missed them in the main story line or if you decide to change your route mid game. Also I have put the fast forward option because I don't want to force the player to click many times just to get through a day at office. So how much freedom will the sandbox element allow? There's icons that are grey on the little side menu, and the current objective still says "completely the introduction" which I assume is something akin to the "prologue" of the game that sets everything up before allowing a bit more freedom?
Are the events and big scenes that move the plot forward gonna be like "episodes" that you choose from the map during the correct time of day (since there's a date and time of day at the top and it seems like you'll be able to fast forward periods and days) like in Steps of Debauchery?
A lot of people don't like the sandbox element because there's usually unnecessary grinding which doesn't look like it will be present here at all (because you probably get all the stats required by choosing to go through with an action or not during certain events). But a sandbox like this which gives you more freedom to choose your next move without involving any grinding is actually better when it comes to immersion.
But most importantly when it comes to sandbox, are there gonna be repeatable scenes? Like we already know Sarah is gonna be visiting the Nightclub, and even though Jessica was mentioned when you choose to tell her to go without Neil, will she be able to go alone for example on a Friday night, pick up some random guy, bring him home, have a wild one night stand and then continue the next day like normal?
Not fan of clicking on location on certain day or time. Why repeatable events, after play 2-3 times player can be bored no?Yes you have summed up my plans for the sandbox perfectly. I am planing to have repeatable events with extra scenes coming up with every repeat, but this has not been finalized yet.
One place I am still struggling is how to elegantly handle the sandbox for two MCs. Like if you select a location on the map are you doing it as Alex or Sarah. Right now it has been forced by the story but when we switch to fully sandbox it should be different is my feeling.
Awesome! The more I see where this game is going the more exciting it sounds like.Yes you have summed up my plans for the sandbox perfectly. Repeatable events as in optional sex scenes you can repeat. Imo that's way more immersive than going to the gallery. Like if you want Sarah to have fun at the nightclub for example, you lead her there yourself, instead of just clicking the gallery and watching the same sex scene. The latter doesn't feel like it's actually "happening" while the first one evokes that feeling in the player, making it more immersive, like it's part of her daily life. Not fan of clicking on location on certain day or time. Why repeatable events, after play 2-3 times player can be bored no?
I am thinking of implementing it in a nice way. Maybe click on the objectives menu and the game jumps to that day and time maybe. Not fan of clicking on location on certain day or time. Why repeatable events, after play 2-3 times player can be bored no?
That would be good. That way I can avoid all the annoying clicks to skip time and days. I want to avoid the sandbox and repeatable events as much as possible.I am thinking of implementing it in a nice way. Maybe click on the objectives menu and the game jumps to that day and time maybe.
I wish you all the best with your project, but that's just killed any interest for me I'm afraid.click on certain locations on certain days and time
The dev said this after.I wish you all the best with your project, but that's just killed any interest for me I'm afraid.
You wouldn't have to click anymore than you would on a linear VN.I am thinking of implementing it in a nice way. Maybe click on the objectives menu and the game jumps to that day and time maybe.
Which kind of defeats the purpose of doing it all in the first place doesn't it? Just fancy code and game design purely for the sake of having fancy code and game design, especially when it was never there originally. The dev said this after.

But you would have to move the mouse cursor around a lot more! You wouldn't have to click anymore than you would on a linear VN.
Well, not really, it just gives people more options, which is a good thing unless said options are garbage which many sandbox games have due to icky interactions the players have to go through with the game because the devs just can't seem to get it right most of the time. And that makes people's experience with sandbox games bad and it's understandable when they're being skeptical.Which kind of defeats the purpose of doing it all in the first place doesn't it? Usually only ends up one way when this happens.
