My personal take on in-game narration is that it presents a dichotomy:
it either significantly enhances player connection to characters, atmosphere, and the scene, or it actively disengages and exhausts the player
Too often, games include narration filled with unnecessary, uninteresting, or unemotional content that completely misses the mark of its intended purpose
You didn't use a lot of narration, and in my personal opinion, that was a good decision. However, if I were to ever make a game, I'd use narration only for conveying engaging emotions and to highlight significant internal struggles, but I'd keep it minimal. This approach would allow players to breathe
