I am thinking of toning down Neil in the sharing and faith full route sand giving more control to the couple. But of course in other routes Neil will be even more menacing.

Well Mr Fable as long as Neil remains the same or like you said becomes even more menacing in the cheating route then its totally fine..I have always liked him as a villain and in my game where Sarah is slowly but definitely turning into a hottt cheating slut he is the first one with whom she's going to have cheating sex with so Neil and Sarah for the win always while Alex remains blissfully unaware what his naughty hottt wife is doing behind his back lol..

Honestly, the only thing I would avoid on my save is Alex cheating on Sarah and vice versa.

He didn't say it would be unavoidable. The bit you quoted literally said his hope would be that more people would try Neil's scenes on the sharing route, which already tells you that it's going to be avoidable because if they don't try it they won't see it.

i think the idea being missed is one of you considers any neil sex scenes with ANY character undesirable. I don't, but whatever.

The only undesirable is anything forced (with anyone) on either Alex or Sarah. Since all of that is avoidable, and the other scenes we've had do not involve Alex or Sarah, we're golden so long as that doesn't change. Dev said he had some intense scenes with Neil planned and the implication is that they will involve Sarah. It's understandable that he would want as many people as possible to see those scenes, but the way he worded it was quite clear that they wouldn't be forced upon us.

I might not like Neil, but that's because of his malicious (as far as the POV marriage goes) intentions towards Sarah and disregard of Alex in that equation. I'm fine seeing his scenes with other women, even if I might want my Alex to pursue those women (e.g., Abigail). I'd rather not see them, of course, but in that example, I'm focused on Abigail, not Neil!

Understood - I'm not voicing my take but rather taking at stab at what OWSam meant was stuff like the Neil-Abigail.

I have no problem with those personally, I view them as separate porn vignettes from the main story.

Yeah, my comment on it was in response to the second part, saying the intention to show Neil's scene on all paths was disappointing. I think you and I are in the same place regarding this one. I'd much rather it be Alex getting those scenes with women like Abigail, but we're not at that point of the game yet, and I love the speed we're going at as I think it feels much more natural than most games, where it ends up being forced in early just to get the excitement going.

I always took the Neil scenes (and the Eva flashback) as more tickboxes in that respect than story items, although there are story elements to them, e.g., the hold Neil has over Eva.

Agreed on story elements - I do think the Abigail one was the most....superfluous in that regard. As much as I hate bbc tropes, the early erik scene was a story beat to set the relationship context with jessica, and the eva scene her blackmail leverage as you mentioned.

I'm ever so slightly concerned at the pacing - while I think it's much better to be slow burn than too much - and it's certainly near to what I'd consider optimal, the last few updates have kinda ....(dragged isnt the right word....meandered?) for me more than I would have preferred. I.E. - we have the setup, we have the characters in place, we know the narrative, the world is built. Now it's time for the characters to interact with more "umph". I do think the massage scene was in the right direction - that's something I would have expected an update or 2 ago though.

Yeah just played. Great game. I love the control that you have with it. But I will say, the only thing I eliminated was Neil getting any sort of action with the FMC. I mean I found many of the solo male choices for FMC to be cartoon villain, creepy, or childish lol. The ones in relationships were far better adjusted. The beach boys were cool too. My main path is sharing and running a happy couple path too. Will likely get to the betrayal paths (I find them ok, but not very entertaining) at some point but even then...no Neil lol.

My two cents, I would not really bother with this too much. The character type is meant for a certain content group and for them he is great as is. For others, it feels too late to change him, the blackmail of the doctor and manipulations to this point got him into a bucket. Any major changes to make him more "acceptable" would likely feel forced. What makes him "fun" for some and likely fun to write for in terms of those intense scenes is that he the person he is. However you do you on that end. I would just request the ability to continue to be able to reject partners.

Chris is, IMO, the ultimate in an Evil 'best friend' and has shown no redeeming qualities.

I am hoping that we can use the RLP as a gate to 'filter' out those who we do not want to spend time with (other than to perhaps check out a scene in the replay gallery).

I like the longer-term consequences of choice that the different paths take us down.

In my primary playthrough, Alex now has the same RLP score as Jessica and Sarah chooses to masturbate to her fantasies versus have sex with Alex.

I'm hoping that the dialogue and Alex choices (with Sarah and with other female LIs) changes based on how badly the Alex/Sarah RLP has deteriorated.

Perhaps Emma decides to take up jogging and asks Alex to help her build up her stamina or Alex runs into Rachel in a coffee shop, they exchange numbers and they start swimming together outside of gym get togethers.

Low Alex/Sarah RLP scores give Alex the option to share these encounters with Sarah where RLP scores in the 20's (for ex.) automatically cause Alex to keep that information to himself - he feels he deserves something for himself the same way Sarah is obviously making her own unique experiences and not sharing more than the barest of details with him.

I think the dialogue has done a great job showing the change in marital dynamics so far and I hope it can continue to do so as those marital dynamics change more dramatically.
