i feel like there's a weird trend where the majority of games tend toward grotesque art style for their girls. like i don't mean, plump or whatever, you know in the real world beauty comes in all sorts of shapes. but not these shapes lol. these are just truly grotesque and weird. why is that so popular as an art style for porn?

yeah none of the popular ones I came across are ugly so you would need to name some examples. Only one I can maybe see is Kindra from Artemis and even that is a stretch she just has weird facial expressions once in awhile in the early chapters.

You need to give examples when making statements based on personal taste. Just going by the fan art and appreciation threads alone it would seem you are in the minority but no telling unless we know what you are talking about.

Yes, i agree, but since there are at least a few people who like this kind of exaggerations the stuff is justified to be made, i guess.
I myself "feel" that there are way to many females with bodyparts that could have their own zip-codes. But that is just my aesthetic taste that complaints in my head, because these over exaggerated bodies look not so beautiful with clothes on.

haven't seen it, but yeah things like that. i've seen droopy banana shaped breasts, comically huge breasts, nipples larger than fists, all sorts of just grotesque stuff that seems like itself should be a tagged fetish lol. and it's not stuff that exists in real life, it's like a caricature you would get drawn in a touristy area, but porn.
maybe this is a mean thread. i'm just venting lol. a tag would be a horrible idea cause it's subjective i guess, but i think grotesque to the point of fetish is a thing "niche" is overrepresented in these games.

I would really like to know where the idea for it being "realistic" to have an ugly girl than a hot one comes from. Like what does that even mean?

either a) the "uglier" ones are better in bed or b) its not an actual ugly lady (since beauty is subjective) but features that are generally seen as unattractive

Subjective first and foremost, but from a creator viewpoint. Often they don't see what others see when working on their project, cause they are immersed in it 24/7. Don't want to call out individuals, so just listing a few common things:
- Mousso assets tend to have strong jawlines and beady eyes that you start to notice with a lot of games that use em.
- Pencil necks. Applying multiple morphs so that your chars aren't cookie cutter, proportions can get wonky.
- Not seeing how the char looks from various angles and after hundreds of images in, its too late to fix.
- Body proportions.

Beauty is subjective. The beauty trends will vary greatly between cultures and ethnicity. However, there is definitely a sort of a very general scale of attractiveness that will apply regardless of those cultural variations (at least if we are talking about the modern era). Some of the examples shown in this thread are certainly placed in the bottom percentile of that scale. Those ugly ass bitches could be the result of one of two things. The dev's sense of beauty does not align with the average person, or the dev is intentionally using ugly models for the sake of "realism."
Like a chubby, trailer trash looking mom character might not have much aeasthetic appeal, but it could increase certain people's sense of immersion and the incest fantasy.
