i really do understand that, supply and demand is the basis of all commerce ...but why only the video games why is there so little of it in other adult media? or is it simply more hidden? harder to find? or maybe its less believable in live action? as you know they are just actors? or is it simply that in a game...your in control...yeah the nature of the interaction...

It's not in real porn, because in few countries realistic depictions of rape is illegal, such as the UK and Germany. I don't believe it's technically "illegal" in the US, just that most porn sites don't allow it. At least, that's the little I know about it. Could be entirely wrong.

Pixels aren't real, but if a real human is fake-raped, it hits different. There is less tolerance for it. Many porn sites ban too realistic looking rape porn, if they have any at all (mostly for legal reasons and to avoid getting fucked by credit card companies).
The issue is, that sometimes it isn't easy to differentiate if the scene is ONLY acted and not real or an actuall crime.
But rape porn is still out there and there is plenty of it (porn comics, hentai animes/mangas and also JAVs (japanese adult videos) usually don't shy away from that).

In the past (70s, 80s) rape in action movies where a common thing. It was an easy and cheap way to portray how evil and terrible the villain was and (probably more important for those sleazy filmmakers) to have some tits and ass in their movie.
But this approach fell out of fashion because it is really cheap filmmaking, it just shows a lack of imagination (showing that the villain is evil by having him rape someone is just as dumb, as having the hero have sex with his wife just to show he has a functioning marriage).

However, perhaps you should list the 5-6 games you state do not have the rape tag but you believe have rape in them so that we can review, ourselves.

Please, don't use expressions like "Occam's razor" when you have no fucking clue what they mean and are totally unable to do some basic critical thinking.

Rape being illegal, any video featuring a rape, even a faked one, would be removed by the hosting platform and, if it's a real rape, it would be used as proof during your trial. If it's a faked rape, it would still be removed by the hosting platfrom, and could still lead to legal issues, with both actors having to face a judge and explain not only that they were consenting, but also why they thought that filming, then broadcasting, a rape would be a good idea.

As Occam's razor principle say, the simplest explanation is the most likely to be true. And, from my point of view, "rape is illegal" is a simpler explanation than "it's hidden" and all the bullshit you came with.


Oh, by the way, I'm pretty sure that there's even more rape in porn literature than in porn games.

Well, when you look at the tags cloud...

Remove what isn't sex related ((2|3)DCG and animated), you end with: Vaginal Sex, Oral Sex, Male protagonist, big tits, big ass, anal sex, creampie, then the level 3 tags. Those tags being, in alphabetical order, female protagonist, groping, group sex, handjob, lesbian, masturbation, rape, teasing.
Big tits and asses aren't sexual practice, as well as the protagonist gender and sexual orientation, what lead to: Vaginal sex, Oral sex, Anal sex, Creampie, then at equality the combo Groping, Group sex, Handjob, Rape, Masturbation.

but as social animals humans also have strong altruistic instincts to look out for the other members of the herd, to keep them safe and stop them from suffering. one of those is empathy, which is a chemical reaction in our brain designed to cause that altruistic social behavior. it's the backstop for not exerting power over others to hurt them, just because it feels good. instead empathy makes us feel incredibly bad to see others suffer.

so the underlying reason for enjoying rape fantasies is the same as why fictional violence in general is massively popular in mainstream: it's a safe way to experience dark power play fantasies without endangering anyone. in an action movie no one is actually hurt. in a rape story no one gets actually raped. but you still get the pleasure of exerting power.

it used to be absolutely everywhere. every older romantic movie used to have the male star raping or forcing himself on the romantic interest, and almost every romantic movie used to be about stalking your victim until she gives in.

then about 20 years ago or so people started acknowledging that maybe we shouldn't teach young people that 'no' is just foreplay, and that she'll come around from even hating a guy if you just manipulate and force yourself on her arrogantly enough. and that's why it's rare now in other than sex media, but it definitely wasn't before.

Why there's so much rape in the games here? There's another answer next to the ones you already got. The adult game scene is full and full with horny men. More horny men means more coomer-brained stuff. Most rape "plotlines" you find here are coomer-brained.

You still have 10,264 games to choose from. That is enough of a selection for you to play a different game each day for more than 28 years, and by that time, you'd have more than 4 times as many to choose from to continue ... or go back to the 10,264 and play their updated versions by that time.

You are not doing your best to avoid them if you think you see a tag which is affiliated with non-consensual sex and think you can avoid it in some way.

Blackmail is non-consensual. Corruption is non-consensual. Drugs (when attempting to dope potential partners) is non-consensual. Mind control is non-consensual. Slave is non-consensual. Sleep sex is non-consensual. And, of course, Rape is non-consensual.

first off they gave what they thought the answer is, wither or not its the true answer or if there are many true answers is the whole point.
this isn't a scientific fact this isn't something with one correct answer, so to claim i was given my answer is simply incorrect. but in fairness many of the points brought up are valid arguments/reasoning and have certainly helped me better understand things.
yes people have given me good advice and i thank them for it, really i am truly thankful for it.
and please do not make such assumptions...if i was looking for moral outcry would i use such respectful language? not once have i disparaged anyhow who creates, distributes or enjoys content that i do not.
you may not think it true but i really am just looking for peoples thoughts on the matter, not hear to rile up the mod to hunt anyone down, hell im shocked this topic did not have more trolls and that there are people willing to broach the topic seriously
