For fuck's sake just look at Hentai Manga that can also have Plots and Scenarios and they don't need to suck dick for 20 pages before you are given a fuck.
Never understood the whole "stairway to heaven" progress thing in porn games.

A lot of women don't like giving blowjobs to start with then there is the fact they get nothing out of it so no date would end on that alone, they would expect the favour returning.

It's weird.

Women are not playing these games, men are, at least in a bigger proportion. The starwayy to heaven progression is so you can have more content with the women.

It is true that you need to use the the advantages you have with each character so it isn't always the same. A girl has big tits? BJ+TJ. A girl is bigger and stronger than the protagonist? Make it so she lift him to give him a blowjob. Is she very very small? She should give you a blowjob stanging.

These kind of things go hand in hand with the creativity of a dev and also the setting, of course. And you can say the same about satistying gameplay to tie in everything else.

Otherwise, as I said in a different thread, at least know the difference between a visual novel and a game (or at least a VN that tries to be a game).

There should be two kinds of adult games: one for the average gamer with a lot of challenge gameplay and another for the average porn addict. For example, to accommodate my mood, I find myself switching between games with easy gameplay and those with difficult gameplay. So it's better to just add a sex scene library for when the player wants to get to stuff he wants to fap with, or just add a few characters on the map who are specifically for those times.

Grind and challenge kind of different things. :)

Can't remember any games with challenge or skill here, only with grind.

upd. Actually most of average players may be very discouraged about games with challenge but... it seems like they tolerating grind. :(

Oh, I didn't mean like visual novel porn games. I meant fully fledged 3D games with porn elements in them, such as a game that played like a visual novel but had 3D gameplay; there were a lot of these types of games.

Actually, the only type of visual novel that I found challenging was one with a lot of mini games present, such as earning money by playing video games, and let me tell you, it wasn't the best type of gameplay.

I believe that the best way to challenge a player is to force him the ability to make decisions for himself and to have a very high risk to reward ratio.

This discussion simply goes beyond the point of actual design.

There are 2 types of 'lewd'-games basically: 'Normal' games that got changed into 'lewd' ones by replacing or modding some content into a more lewd version (Sims sex mods or Skyrim lewd mods are a good example for these).
And then there is the game that uses the lewd stuff as a reward for its game play (one of the more famous ones would be HoneyPop stuff for example).

What many refer to here is not a game to begin with. Novels with mini-games dont qualify as games. Many of these use the latter example from above just to create a similar effect - some kind of mini-game or simplified mechanic to create 'rewarding' moments.

The main difference between a game and a novel is where the focus is. Games main focus is always on the interactivity - even if they have story that focus will not change. Their mechanics and interaction are what they excel in - or at least try to.

Novels only offer 'interactive choices' to split into different ways to play out a story. Adding a pseudo-challenge by using a mini-game etc is just a way to make choices either more difficult or in the believe that this is making it a game - which is simply wrong.

Since the story is the focus of a novel those elements are actually a distraction from it. For the player there is basically no difference in these 2 versions:

The outcome of the next scene will define where the player is heading in the story path. Scene is a fight with someone. I have 2 outcomes. I either win or loose the fight. Version 1 offers me to 2 clickable buttons with options 'win fight' or 'loose fight'. Version 2 starts a mini-game to decide the outcome.

In terms of content they already bore me to death.
"Stairway to heaven" is bad precisely because its the Default and Overdone.
I extremely disagree. And it also seems like the problem is that you want a different kind of content, not the content itself. It if isn't broken, don't fix it.
Novels with mini-games dont qualify as games
WarioWare qualifies as a game despite this. I don't see why they wouldn't. There's also stuff like aforementioned Phoenix Wright and Danganronpa. Although I agree with most of your points, my problem is that devs should either at least try or not at all and stick with straight Visual Novels.

Both commonly are defined as adventures and not novels thus defined as games. In both examples its the detective mechanics that are the focus

It took a month to write, I figured it should take a month to read.
That's nothing compared to a screenplay format... it took me a whole month to write a 15 minute peace if you read slowly and thoroughly you might get 20.

They are still very text heavy and the gameplay doesn't necessarily rely on motor skills. My point is that the interactivity is there, and so it can be in other games.

I understood you in the first place - but you insist a bit too much on 'motor skills'. Interactivity doesnt mean that. Interactivity means the interaction with the gameworld, elements etc. It does not mean 'click as fast or as smart as you can'.

Its why i took a game like Skyrim as an example. That is also 'text heavy' because there is story but the main focus is gameplay and interaction with others, the world etc. Story/length of text alone is not a defining element for the type of a product.

No no, I know, I'm just saying that you don't need motor skills for a game to be a game when you can have a game by just text alone or something like Brain Age that were just mini-games with math and stuff like that. As I said, my point is that you can interact with the gameworld in very different ways. I think that it depends a lot on how you implement whatever mini-game you are using and how it fits into the world.

If you give me an amazing premise with an amazing story and then you just give me pong to paddle game time, sure, it's not good at all. Although, I could argue that if you give pong a nice skin fitting to the theme, then it's cool. Take a look at Subverse, which is basically XCOM and Asteroids.

It's not really unpopular. It's something you heard all the time.

It's just that most developers don't care about what people perceive as easy. And that's a good thing, lol.

Why was it such an unpopular opinion to want a porn game to be easy?

I understand the need to have interactive experiences & engagement to connect and give context between each CG / scene unlocks (so they don't ended up becoming just a gallery viewer), but i really don't see the reason why some games have to make it sooo grindy.

It's a porn game, i'm not here to "git gud", i'm here to git nut.
I would say the issue of grind is a matter of bad choice or design on some game developers not that they think it is needed.
This comes about probably from a number of factors.
The first being trying to extend out the limited amount of content a game has. This is especially true where art is hand created vs that of rendered art.
However, you still find it in games with rendered art. Often though as you see a game develop you see the grind go down. Example: Fashion business when the game was first created the grind was insane and it has been reduced over time because the developer has more content to fill in between with. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it is a good game has to many plot issues for my taste but I have to say they have at least worked on the grind issue.
Other factors are they are amateurs when it comes to game development so they have less tools in their repertoire to solve issues with. Another factor can be life experience, most people haven't done the stuff they are writing about and all they have to go by is what they read watch and hear from others. Most of that is really bad reference material. Intellectual power can be a huge factor how smart a person is limits how much of picture they can see at once what effects transfer across larger areas and can cause other residual effects.

I can't say I heard anyone claiming a game need to be more grindy. I've seen plenty of comments including my own regarding the quality of plot and other issues, quality aspects.

If all you are interested in is busting a nut there are far easier ways. Just watch porn or call your girlfriend up. The porn you don't have to deal with 10,000 mouse or keyboard clicks to move forward you can just watch and focus on getting off. Your girlfriend would probably love the attention.
You play a porn game because you are looking for something more than that. There aspects a porn game fills that those can't well. That said grind isn't one of the qualities we are looking for when we play it.

Honestly, I have more trouble with porn games being over simplified unrealistic in nature. The issue usually comes about because the writer is lazy or can't actually understand what really goes on. I've discussed the issue of blackmail to no end on this site. But a lot of really shitty authors will half ass it just to move a plot in a direction. They pretend the character being blackmailed has no choice and use stupid lines even like, "I have no choice but to go along with it." when in fact they have 10,000 real choices that are vastly better than going along with it. Worse yet, the author will build the character up in the beginning as being smart and talented and not let them actually act to that level in the game. Example: Special Request.

In that respect I guess you can say we do want the level increased but that has ZERO to do with grind. It is more like we prefer to have the immersion turned up and maybe required to use our brains for a little more than taking up space.
