Yes.
Just looking at the road map the things getting overhauled will likely dent up any saves. Things like the building update flat out removes and replaces old textures so theres bound to be issues. I'm sure the dev will work to make it more compatible but theres a lot of foundation stuff to fix so thats not a good sign for old saves.

I would say its safe to assume at least for the next few full updates that saves wont transfer well between versions. Even with the valve updater theres a lot of things that could bug out so proceed with cautious optimism and start over each time or wait for like January when the foundation stuff is all fixed (hopefully! dev is a bit lazy) and it becomes more about adding new content.

Also I'll say it again, theres really not too drastic of a difference between demo and "full" right now. So if you're just looking to get in early,then go for it, but if you're looking for a more complete experience wait maybe a month or so.
alright thx for the advice. i think imma wait instead. kind of annoying if i have to build everything again for every update :HideThePain:

I genuinely do not understand why you keep saying this. It makes me think you haven't actually played the full version. The map is so much bigger and has so much more to offer. More NPCs. More quests. More areas to explore. The demo was made small to just give the player a taste of what the full map might be like.
I'm not even trying to defend the game. No need it can do that for itself. It just seems to me after playing hundreds of hours in this game that you really haven't spent much time in it at all. There is probably a 10:1 size difference in map size. At least 5 NPCs that give quests. A dragon that has a quest and you can ride albeit a bugged and inconsistent one. Many different monster camps. The Iron Creed fort. Forest areas with wolves and ore deposits. Desert area with sand and scorpions and wasps. Five or six drake towers spread around the map. Minotaur mazes. Six different dungeons. I don't get it man, do you find this much stuff in the demo? How are these two versions so close to one another? I'm not trying to be an ass, but your statement seems to be either intentionally petty or you really haven't played the full version much at all. I don't think anyone here that has played the full version would agree with your assessment, so could you please elaborate on that statement a bit so that it doesn't just seem like your just bitter about people calling it a "full" version, which by the way is referring to the map size not the development state.

It really will be something major. I think I'm going to stop being a cheapskate and buy it on Steam when its released. Here is a post about it from the dev. Fair warning tho, expect a wave of new bugs. Its an ongoing trend with this dev.

**️ BIG BUILDING SYSTEM UPDATE IN THE WORKS!**

We’re currently hard at work on a **huge overhaul of the building system** in *Wicked Island*, one that opens the door to far more **creative freedom, cozy homes, and detailed player-made environments** than ever before.

> While this update isn’t live yet, here’s a preview of what’s coming:

---

** More Pieces, More Creativity**

The total number of wooden build pieces is expanding to **around 60**, with many **entirely new shapes**, including half/quarter walls, decorative beams, and far more **roofing options**.

All old wood pieces have been replaced with the **new visual style**, making your builds feel **sharper, warmer, and more cohesive**.

Whether you're building a **modest hut** or an **elaborate hillside fortress**, this update aims to give you the **freedom to make it yours**.

---

**️ Furniture & Decoration**

This update is also about making your home feel **lived-in and personal**.
There will be **20+ new furniture items** and **18 decorative props**, including:

* Storage options
* Statues & banners
* Lighting
* Clutter decorations

> ⚠ *Note:* Storage furniture is **functional**, but most new props are **purely decorative**.

You’ll finally be able to turn your builds into **true homes**, not just empty halls.

---

**⚙ Improved Build Experience**

The system has been refined to make building **smoother and more satisfying**:

* Toggle **"no collision" placement mode** for precise decorating
* Fixes for **deleting pieces** and bugs that caused frustration or crashes
* Better **snapping & placement logic** for a cleaner experience

> The goal is to make building **as effortless and fun as possible**.

All the things you mentioned are in the demo. Sans a couple quest givers. But the mazes,map,towers,forest, fort, wolf queen, vampires, servant system and even the dragon are ALL in the demo! In fact theyre even in the older demo version you can get from the OP right here. My guess is you played a much older demo version long ago and ignored the ones on ITCH that the dev steadily updated.

I keep saying it, because its true. Honestly most folks in the comments here on itch and on the steam page are more concerned with the sex stuff, which hasnt really been touched ( though there are some fixes) and will likely feel cheated if they notice the versions are nearly identical in this respect.

I'd recommend you stop projecting, and actually look into things before you start calling people names, you'll be happier. If you're a fanboy,good for you, its a cool project and deserves supporters but please spare us the tantrums and non-spoilered overview.

Edit: I think I realized what went wrong here. You think Im talking about the steam demo dont you? Not the beta release demo's that we've been getting on his itch page and posted to this forum.

Edit2: Wait wtf, what do you mean you didnt buy it yet? Where did all that passion come from if you're not playing the early access version?!

HAPPY FUCKING DAY!!!!

I have been losing my mind over the building pieces for wood structures, especially the 1/2 and 1/4 wall pieces. I do hope they have 1/2 diagonal and vertical pieces.
Also, when I get done building my home, I have this boring wide open warehouse on the inside with pretty much nothing to make it look like a house.

Yes, he does think you are talking about the Steam Demo. I thought the exact same thing when I read your comments.

The version that is on this site, is not some 'beta demo' version that came from Itch. The version that is here on F95 is the full version of the game and it comes directly from the Dev's Subscribestar page.

The Demo version is what is available on Itch. There is no full/beta version on Itch. If you read the main page on Itch, it even says that you can get the FULL VERSION on Steam as the Early Access version.

Basically, what the Dev did was take the version on Itch and upload it as a Demo of the game on Steam.
They also put their Subscribestar version on Steam as the Early Release version.

So, yes, the moment you declared you were playing the DEMO and had all the widgets and gadgets of the full version there was definitely questions about what you were talking about.

Agreed, tables and chairs is all I can really do with this build. I was doing it again with another wooden building next to the start area and while it was going well I noticed the new additions being promoted in the new build coming up. Suddenly I lost the energy to place this mundane shit anymore. I want the new stuff now so I'm probably going to wait for the new build and take the plunge. Doesn't help anyone here, but maybe we'll eventually figure out a way. Otherwise, I don't think this thread will ever get updated again with the full version. Anyone willing to pay for it on steam likely will not be also subbing on SS and willing to share the build.

Well, from what I see the 8.5 which was the version I got from here and tested against the steam version a few days back is specifically called DEMO on the Itch page that I did read in full before all this maincharacter energy. So I was operating under the assumption theres 2 versions, the "demo" and the "full". And that version seems to have all I specified. I just checked it again and yes, the version I grabbed from here, 8.5 and the one called demo on the itch page are the same.

I actually didnt notice the 8.6 got updated here which yes, is the substar version and likely the full. I dont know I'm not a subscriber. My main point remains unchanged no matter what language you apply or ideas that a full version magically means full map and not simply buying the game all its updates until completion, just like every single other early access full means.

Last time I'm going to humor this, beyond this point I give up. The point I was making and continue to stress is as of now there is no full version of the game, and little more added beyond what you can find here. Unless you haunt the discord or have been following development for some time, when you see that price tag, you may rightly assume theres a much larger game behind it then what you can find here. This isnt a dig at the game or a way to invalidate your time spent with the product. Its an answer to the question that will be asked dozens of times throughout the thread in the months before full release.

Make a male character, keep the female character for his prime mate, if you do this, I will then play it, and buy it on Steam. I have NO interest being submissive toy for monsters. Now killing them, and competition raids, with sex rewards, like Viking Raids, you will get a cookie, and a cigar. I gave Fancy Pants award on Steam to a guy suggesting a male character, he even said he would accept a Futa. They went into the pregnancy branch as acceptable, I don't care if you add that option. But to enjoy the pregnancy add a system of probability for monsters vs protagonist being the father, it will be OUT Fucking Standing then. Let the player pick the MC race (human whatever with your system creator), You will sell it better, more work we know because of the many images.

Anyone have the updated wersion
I seriously doubt this thread will get updated with a new build ever again. Supporters that have paid at least $30 get a Steam key. Once on Steam it most likely cannot be shared here. People that have the key but still continue to support the dev on subscribestar will surely not want to counter that effort by posting the full version on a pirate site. So I don't see a scenario where this thread gets updated ever again. That is unless someone figures out how to extract the files from their Steam directory, but I don't think Steam makes that easy even with a game like this that doesn't require to be installed. Surely Steam will attach their own installer which will not allow it to work without a key. Otherwise you can play the demo for free.

I am pretty sure that the game could be ripped from Steam, I don't know if it will work for every game on Steam though.

The game Carnal Instinct is an excellent example of it. The Patreon version has DRM that is attached to a specific Patreon User account, so anyone that tried to upload their copy would have to upload their Patreon account to make it work and get their account banned from the Patreon page since the Devs do watch the thread on this site.
So, people wait until the game gets updated on Steam and then download and 'work their magic on it' to make it playable without needing a Steam or Patreon account. I have no idea how it is done, but I do know that it can be done.

The question I have would be does the Steam version get updated at the same time as the Patreon version or would it just stagnate as a certain build level, while the Patreon version still gets updated. It could be that people are waiting to see which way the updates go before trying to upload a new version here.

Steam is likely going to be the bigger audience, so I suspect he will cater to that community primarily now. Thats why I suspect Steam will be the main avenue for the updates. Its another reason I think he will focus on Steam protection against piracy as well. The more I see the more I understand and this dev is really at his limits of capability and trying to bank off it best he can. Nothing really wrong with that tho. And thats fine so long as he delivers, but delivering is continually the question here. He has a coder that helps, but he is still the point man and a lot of what he does is still solo. Animations have never improved, which is something I hear a lot of complaints about. I don't mind that part as much, but there are a LOT of complaints about it with no improvement and likely there never will be. Many other things will never improve like the laggy area loading has been addressed and his coder has said that can't be helped and is as good as it can be. This particular topic is one of my greatest issues as it seems to be the reason I cannot use the dragon for mroe than a few seconds before it abandons me in the sky left to ponder my life choices and then left to ponder when i last saved.
I don't mean to shit on the dev and I know this sounds like I am. I just mean that there are a lot of expectations both delusional and realistic that are not going to happen, but they are still expected regardless. And any person that frequents this thread should not have the expectation of acquiring the end product of this game for free. There seems to be much effort in preventing that now.
If someone is willing to put the effort into making a Steam version playable here that's great. But they would likely need an incentive or just really want to do it. I can't see an incentive after they paid for it.

Steam protection against piracy
What protection? Being on Steam doesn't prevent anything, it's been easily crackable for years. Also, the Steam build doesn't even have any DRM to begin with.

That's pretty much why this forum exists in the first place, though. You get the game here, you try it and you decide if it's worth buying or not, at least that's what I do.

The game will be updated at some point in the future, just not right away. Also, if the dev didn't ask for a 35$ price tag, I'm sure the thread would have been updated already.

Then why are you here? This game isn't for you, there's plenty of games like that already with male protags. Go play those then.

I would rather advocate for people to see this build on this site as the last free build. If you like it then support the dev and buy it on Steam which will be updated to all future builds. Its only $35 and I've spent more than that on alcohol last week. My only issue with that is I may not want the next build seeing how some can be overly buggy. I wish Steam had a rollback feature, but we instead have to rely on the dev to issue a hotfix if its bad enough and this dev rarely does that.

Things against your argument:

1. It literally took me two minutes on the clock to find the current cracked Steam version, obviously. I don’t know if you know how this works judging by your comments, I’d guess you don’t but if multimillion-dollar companies have their games cracked in days or even less, do you really think this guy has reinvented the anti-piracy system? Buddy, I don’t think so.

That brings us to number 2. This is a PIRATE games site. In your great utopia, you want to promote people buying the game that’s fine, everyone can live their life but don’t lie by saying they can’t get it. And if you want to do that, this is clearly not the place.

And finally, number 3. You don’t know Steam’s new policy, do you? Adult games on Steam don’t have long left they’re either going to remove them all or strip out the adult content. The rule came out barely a week ago. And he’s probably already gotten an email saying, well, what I’m explaining to you: “If you don’t remove the +18 content, we’ll delete it.” That’s why a fairly famous game here, like House Party, recently moved all its +18 content to a paid DLC.

PS: If you want to find it, it’s as easy as typing the game’s name, its current version, and downloading it via torrent. There’s no big mystery to it.
