I decided to try the plots again since it does seem to work for others maybe most others. I laid down 4 of them on top of the roof of my fort so they were all on flat surfaces in case that was the issue. I loaded them up with spoiled food and when I put seeds in them the seed count dropped some immediately. This told me it was trying to work. I used wheat and it soon started to show early growth. It eventually grew larger and then I harvested them. Kind of a relief. But then I decided to try carrots. The carrots grew as well, but they could never be harvested so I guess they are bugged specifically. I deleted the plots and the carrots stayed on the map. Looks weird, but oh well its on the roof lol.You are not the only one that is having that issue with the farm plots.
I built 2 plots on the most recent version and dropped a stack of about 50 fiber seeds and 50ish spoiled food and nothing ever happened, except for the spoiled food disappearing. I got tired of them not doing anything except consuming spoiled food and just deleted the things.
It is always possible that the farming plots got nerfed somehow and now take hours of real time to grow anything, where it used to be that you added a handful of seeds and spoilage and after about a game day or so you had grown materials that could be harvested.
If the plots are working on this version, they are so slow, they are just not worth the effort or resources. The random crap on the ground respawns much faster than those plots.
Anyway, laid down 4 more plots and tried wheat, berries and carrots same time to see if I could reproduce the carrots issue and it happened again. The berries and wheat grew and I could harvest them, but the carrots once again cannot be harvested.
Try it again on a perfectly flat surface and see if it works. They eat up between 10-20 seeds and it might need the full capacity in order to start.
