I hope you've reached out to the mods here before making this decision. The abandoned tag is reversible if the game shows signs of development. If you've had it out with them and this is a decision you're making then good luck with the game in future, sincerely.

This game is fantastic, as is your mod for it, so if you don't return at least know you've still got some fans over here.

I think you're being a bit too dramatic. It's not like the mods have it in for you, it's just a site rule.

Abandoned: The game has been abandoned (confirmed by the dev) or the developer hasn't posted anything related to the game for at least 3 months.

A lot of devs bypass that rule by posting real or bs status updates. I don't know if you haven't done so or if it's just a misunderstanding. Worst case is abandoned tag would be removed the next time you update the game.

But obviously it's your choice where you spend your time so good look in the future with the game.

Hey,
it's a shame seeing the tag and knowing the game is still active, especially when the team is answering actively on the forum and other platforms. I don't know if something happened other than a mod setting the abandonned tag but I'll make sure to follow on the project on discord.

Im really sorry that dev team is abandoning this platform, as its the only one I check.
I hope mods will revert the tag. As a creative project, especially one that has a history of longer periods between updates and delivering, its not good to post nonUpdates often. They can push audience away from the game, as nothing seems to be new and worth playing. I have stopped caring about a lot of games due to updates without any new content, just for the sake of updating.
I know that cutoff must be made sometime, but imo 3 months is not enough time to declare it abandoned, especially when community is active and there is comunication from dev team.

I remember when the last update released, it was said that it would take a while for the next update to be released due to the complexities of the game, so unsure why it got the abandoned tag. Anyway good luck with that.

I'll let folks know when the next version goes into playtest mode. Public release will follow shortly thereafter. Until then, the timing is unknown, as I never know how long the upgrades and new content will ultimately take.

I always thought games get the abandoned tag after 1 year of no updates, which doesn't seem to be the case here yet.

Nevermind, turns out they left F95 due to "the actions of the Moderation Staff", which is rather unfortunate, but not a first.
Shame.

I can see their point. They've been porting the game for three years and releasing bug fix and new art updates. 3 years ago they were on 0.7c and now we are on 0.7o2 with the same client list we have had for more than 3 years. Their game gets marked abandoned while Female Agent continues to milk the patreons. I'd be a bit salty too.

I mean in the years since the renpy version came out they have essentially added no new content beyond what was in the SCAGS version... so I kinda get it. Also, a couple years ago even the hypnopics forum (their main forum) declared the project abandoned after an absurd 2-year(?) period to port the initial content into renpy (while they all pretended like they were making a "custom engine").

They keep acting like the game is super complex but, it's no more complex than plenty of renpy games - so it's a weak ass excuse.

Don't blame the forum mods for reacting to some of the slowest dev times.

• Anne’s third session should now be properly shut off (prior content was buggy and contemplated additional scenes that aren’t yet implemented)

From November 13, 2021 0.7o:

• Post-training content for Alexis the Personal Assistant; this was the main focus of this update
• New client selection system giving players three choices: 1. default system, 2. random allocation of clients to waves without reference to your reputation, and 3. full player choice of which clients become available in each wave.
• Notification when examining or reviewing files for a character if a hypnotic trigger has been implanted
Changed:
• New prospects no longer become available while you have an existing client • Training period for Alexis extended by 2 weeks
• Training success thresholds for Alexis are also now easier, while getting the money bonus from her boss for training her is more difficult

The premise of the game is genius. You start with pictures of pornstars fully clothed looking normal, and then you play the game and you are shown their porn. Put some text around it to imply mind control and training and you can basically write a story around almost any pornstar with any scene. The client list is surprisingly short given how creative the structure allows one to be.

I find it confusing that a game with such infrequent releases has a community manager, lead writer, lead programmer, and several playtesters.

I have to strongly disagree with most of this and the prior few posts.

It’s easy to write up a hyper-summary like “Alexis’ post-training content” as if the brevity of that phrase suggests a scene or two. In actuality, that content is maybe ten to twelve HOURS of gameplay, if you explore the branching paths. It’s NOT A SMALL UPDATE.

One of the previous posts suggested the game isn’t that complex. The programming may not deviate that far from standard Ren’py, but the number of meaningful player decisions is STAGGERING. There are literally hundreds of scenes you will never see unless you make specific choices. The game updates are *exponentially* larger and more complex than similar updates from similar games.

The branching paths and meaningful decisions give a sense of depth and reality to the characters that one seldom encounters in any adult game. The mind control and training feel real,, since each character has her own quirks, her own preexisting relationships, her own character traits that force you to adapt your mechanism.

Where most mind control and training games suffer from repetitive and unmeaningful approaches — “gee, I’ll just push my mind control button like I did for the last 55 women” “let me use the same potion and see the same progression” “I’ll speak my magic phrase and she’ll respond like all the rest of them do” — each character here has a personalized approach playing to the character’s personality. The *math* is different for each character, the *writing* is different for each character, the *psychology* is different for each character.

The thing is, my hyper summary is taken directly from the published patch notes. The sparseness of description is not my creation. Also, if you look at their writing approach published on Hypnopics, most of the content should be fairly easy to unlock and shouldn't require esoteric conditions to unlock. To quote:

30% of the porn should be accessible as easily as falling out of bed. People are playing this for the porn; don’t make them wait too long or work too hard to get some.

60% of it should be achievable with a little thought and effort, and maybe one or two playthroughs to get an understanding of the client. This is the meat of the story and the stuff the players will truly enjoy because they earned it.

10% of the content should be very difficult to get or rely on an unusual sequence of events. This will provide substance for people who really get into the game and want to explore it thoroughly.

"There are literally hundreds of scenes you will never see unless you make specific choices." This would seem to go against the stated goal of the 30-60-10 rule.

The game is awesome and complex. Porting from one engine to another isn't easy. The worry is that they have been porting existing content for literal years. They already know what interactions between characters they want to include. To that extent, they are not having to recreate the wheel and write new stories or new scenes. Given that they already split duties between writing and programming, yeah, I kinda thought we would have seen more clients than what was included in RAGS.
