FWIW Carnal Instinct has complainers as well, a good amount of them sharing similar comments to the ones you see here in the WL thread. Visit Carnal Instinct's F95 thread if you haven't already. Regardless of what developers are doing, there will always be those that aren't pleased and feel the need to make sure others are aware and are equally miserable.Carnal Instinct. Yes, they also cut out a lot when switching to UE 5, but it's still a game, with a WORKING RPG system, action, cutscenes, plot and even dungeons. And if I'm not mistaken, it's been in development for 3 years. I don't really like their visual style, but it's a matter of taste, I'm talking specifically about the competence of the developers
However, CL is a game, and it's already pretty clear what it will be like on release. Absolutely nothing is unclear about WL, not even a concept is emerging yet. This is exactly what is just a collection of assets and tools for them.FWIW Carnal Instinct has complainers as well, a good amount of them sharing similar comments to the ones you see here in the WL thread. Because they started to develop the game from the right end. It's much easier to add customization, new animations and models than to try to assemble a bunch of ready-made parts into something meaningful. It seems to me that the story of Yandere-dev has found a continuation in this projectCI has the gameplay and world a lot more fleshed out but it's lacking everything WL does well. Character customization is mediocre to say the least, there's not that many animations, and the system for viewing animations is really bad.

I just want to understand in which direction the developers are developing their project, but it seems to me that they themselves no longer understand. Or they realize that they are not coping with the development, and imitate some kind of activity. Why don't they hire a coder to fix basic things for them?
I like this project, I like how some things are implemented, I'm not a hater or a whiner, but from build to build I only see how three new placeholders were added to the map, new "characters" and clothes to them. It feels like the development of this game is in chaos. A lot of assets, animations, models are being made, but the basis, the concept on which all these things are planted is missing
And it all boils down to the fact that WL has nothing but high-quality animations... 7 years of development? Yeah, cool, you made a sandbox. I LIKE IT, BUT: what are you developing? A sandbox, or a game? If the sandbox, then it is necessary to develop it, add a face poser, sculpting models, a skin texture editor, etc. If the game is to start making a game. But not all of them and not at the same timeI haven't played CI since it switched to UE5, but I did play the most recent UE4 build before the switch and the content there outside of the porn was like a further developed version of what WL has to offer. They have combat and quests that looks and feels much more fleshed out than WL's for sure, but I wouldn't say it feels leaps ahead of WL. I just think it comes down to both developers choosing to focus different things. To be frank, Carnal Instinct is lacking quality wise with the actual porn. They used fixed camera angles to reduce the work load of animating and doing body physics. Subverse did the same thing. They focused more on the gameplay/story than the porn quality and caught a decent amount of criticism for it.
Each game has their strengths and will likely improve with time. Carnal Instinct and Subverse has a good chunk of quality content with porn, Wild Life has a bunch of quality porn but lacks in actual content, but unlike the others, WL offers Sandbox that allows users to make and share their own content in the meantime.
I think the quests in WL feel less cohesive because everything still feels and looks WIP if that makes sense, but then again they are still WIP and the devs have made that apparent so it's hard to fault them for that, in my opinion at least.
I think this is just where we're gonna disagree. Personally, I don't view the Sandbox as standalone. It's part of the game. Wild Life isn't just the campaign side of things, the whole game encompasses both game modes, so to say it's just animations isn't accurate since it offers more than that. I can respect that some people don't care for the Sandbox, that's cool. But that doesn't invalidate the work the devs put into it and means people get to pretend it doesn't exist just to say the devs haven't progressed over the years. And it all boils down to the fact that WL has nothing but high-quality animations... 7 years of development? I'm assuming you're on an AMD gpu. Set the game to run with dx11. Hope the devs find a fix with the game not liking AMD for some reason.I've been having problems with the last couple of build. Everytime I try to open the inventory the game crushes and freezes, I have to use task manager to close the program. I tried change resolution and screen settings but nothing seems to work. Can someone help me there?
well that would explain it. thanks a lot my dudeI'm assuming you're on an AMD gpu. Set the game to run with dx11. Hope the devs find a fix with the game not liking AMD for some reason.
This is how I view it as well. A NSFW rpg that's lacking in the NSFW department is meaningless to me when there are proper rpgs I could play. For ex. a modded Skyrim is the complete package. It's a proper rpg that also offers decent quality porn through mods. In a full on NSFW game, the porn side is more important to nail first imo considering it's being sold specifically as an Adult/NSFW game. That's what separates it from normal rpgs, so it needs to have that down first and foremost. These open world RPG projects are too much wasted manpower imo.
Wild Life nails what it needs to with nsfw animations and customization. Carnal Instinct may have more passable "gameplay" but at what cost?
If I want a good RPG I'm not turning to adult indie developers. Even if all these devs manage to complete that extremely ambitious nsfw open world RPG when nsfw content is lacking there's little reason to play it.
Go to:well that would explain it. thanks a lot my dude
PD: any clue on how to set it to run on dx11? sorry the ignorance, I checked all the graphics options and culdn't find it
Thank you bro you are a true savior, It worked perfectly and I will do that next time.Go to:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\WildLifeC\Saved\Config\Windows
then open Engine.ini and add the following line at the bottom:
[/Script/WindowsTargetPlatform.WindowsTargetSettings]
DefaultGraphicsRHI=DefaultGraphicsRHI_DX11
Btw, the only reason I saw your edit was because I was editing one of my own messages. Make a reply so ppl get a notification otherwise might miss your message.
You are basically arguing theme of a game is more important than actual gameplay it offers. If that was true there wouldn't be any difference between a game and a movie. This is how I view it as well. Great preset! Can you share this preset? Please.
I believe you're either taking what I said out of context or misunderstood. What I said was that a NSFW game should prioritize the NSFW content first, as that's what separates it from SFW games sharing similar genres, not that gameplay is somehow less important. You are basically arguing theme of a game is more important than actual gameplay it offers. Here's just an example. There is a hell of a difference between watching a marvel movie and playing a marvel game. I can watch a spiderman movie and say it was ok but my reaction would instantly change the moment you tell me that movie was not a movie but was an open world roleplaying game and creators of it simply didn't "nail" game part of it yet because it was more important to "nail" the superhero theme.
I'm not going to continue to argue with you on this point. You can go back and reread my other replies until you're satisfied or find someone else to argue with.I'm honestly baffled how someone can do mental gymnastics like that just to defend a so called "open world adult roleplaying game" they like.
Modding in general, not just Bethesda games, comes down to reading and lots of trial and error. Wabbajack modlists in particular go through a lot of testing between entire communities so the official ones are rather stable. Anyway, I've been modding Skyrim for years before Wabbajack came along so it's not really an issue for me, but modding is nowhere near as daunting as it used to be thanks to all the tools created over the years to spot what's causing crashes and tools to automate patching to a degree. Storage required for larger modlists are pretty much the only concern. Also good luck with downloading hundreds of gigabytes of modpacks for skyrim and not getting a crash that could be related to any mod among thousands of them you've just downloaded. And their size are usually more than 400gb, seen one that needs 800gb according to wabbajack, lmao).
You tried to justify non-existent gameplay of WL by saying theme(porn) should be "prioritized" first. Which literally means gameplay is less important. Forget about gaming and porn, you simply can't say x should be prioritized over y and then say they are both equally important, that's a fucking retarded way to argue about anything. You are doing mental gymnastics again. Just say you don't give a fuck about gameplay and be done with it, jesus christ...I believe you're either taking what I said out of context or misunderstood. What I said was that a NSFW game should prioritize the NSFW content first, as that's what separates it from SFW games sharing similar genres, not that gameplay is somehow less important.
