Maybe if they were less focused on trying, for some ungodly reason, to turn themselves into an actual game studio, and more focused on the work itself there might be some actual progress made in this game. Instead, they're another cautionary tale to potential investors.

There's some quest that you can do. Haven't done it myself, but those that have done so in earlier builds have reported issues. Combat is also in the game, even if it's wonky.

There's a quest and a combat system now, the sex is still the main draw though, the release of the vertical slice (it's like a proof of concept demo of sorts) should be coming up in the next few months assuming they don't push it for a later date, you'll have an idea what the final game will be like then.

I can understand where the hate comes from - there's a lot of such cases that proved to be nothing more but hollow promises. But do tell me about even one with this amount of stuff. Animations are not the easiest thing to do, especially good ones - sure, they prolly have one or more people who are simply good and have experience so they can dish out simple animations rather fast, but these are very good actually.

I am sure they worked on the game(s too) before and they know what they're doing, but even then, they did put quite some work into it. Fighting system? Why not - a lot of shitty Souls like games with poor combat. Mix that with fucking - Why - Fucking - Not.

For many 65k$ is a lot - but it's not that much in reality. 10$ per patron basically. Even 50$ per month is nothing for a lot of people, since believe it or not, the number of semi-rich people is big. By semi-rich I mean people who can easily spend a thousand or so per month on anything but rent, food, etc. so for them 50$ or 100$ on something that *can* be interesting, is really nothing.

Not to mention the game does look good, better than many other games, including AAA. But that's their selling point, so fret not that I will omit that - they advertised this as a sex game, but they did note RPG. Except... RPG is not the same as cRPG - RPG is a more broad definition, since it can mean simply playing as a character you make, and that's it really. Skills, etc. are not mandatory for this. They could also make a story. Or actually add combat and skills. Or even MP at some point, like that sex chat game I forgot the name of, where you can fuck with people. Their money in the end. If they bail on everyone, well, shucks to be us in the end. But looking at money they make - they sure do look like a normal studio, and the amount of work they do is actually very normal for game making groups, especially if they are actually experimenting with what they will do. I for one hope they do go with combat, since god help, how many sex animations can you make and not start being repetitive. Combat at least is something else to do. And depending on how they do it, it will either be "visit the sex gallery" mode or actually play some video game with sex as a bonus.

I think you're missing the point. It's not about supporters being able to afford to give them that kind of money. The commentary is aimed at the developers themselves, that need that kind of money monthly. Just like it almost always is with threads about games funded through Patreon.

The thing is that for the longest time this game was only a sex gallery and nothing more. And all along they were planning to make this an actual game, and not just a gallery. So it's taken them a long time to implement some sort of working quest at all.

The original commentator didnt seem to understand how expensive and complex game development is tho. So trying to criticize the devs here for saying they need more money isnt really a considerate thing to do.
He says that instead of focusing on trying to be a game studio they should do the game. I say what the hell does he think game studios do? In fact its actually clever to try and become an established game dev studio with a well-adapted team as that way they will be much more efficient than just one dude making 50k+ and paying a bunch of lazy, uncommunicative and unreliable freelancers he doesnt know and never had any offline contact to and to organize their work like that, while eventually getting some stupid letter from the IRA because he didnt give a single shit about accounting and taxation for the past 3 years.

You forget that the majority of this time they have been a very small team and have grown this big only comparatively recently. So no, I disagree. They have every right to experiment around and they should do that too if they want to end up with a good product. After all this isnt the sort of game you can just copy-paste from the previous adult rpg by 'big game studio xyz'.


I may have mentioned this in the past but Ill just do it again. Complaining about how long these people take to make the game is really dumb. Do you know how long it takes other game dev companies to get their games done? With millions of dollars in budget, established studio pipelines, workflows and asset libraries and teams five or even ten times the size? Still several years. And here is Wild Life trying to be one of those games but with sex content, a lot of it, in a form and quality that has never been displayed before. So the least we can do is offer constructive criticism instead of subjective rants.

One awesome Optimization Job on the IQ/Performance/System Scaling relation (hope it further improves so that your awesome artists work doesn't vanishes behind to much diffusion, looks very coherent overall though in combination with the Art Direction, careful though of a FarCRY 4, WatchDog Streaming latency disaster) and Target Hit @ Steve and Team

Is the Logic Part all running still in BluePrints ?

Quest was pretty flawless working nice mini Story worked out needing to fly to the nest target immediately lets the player get into the flight system nice tutorial task.

AI fights where a relative good experience, except sometimes the strange AI behavior , Alpha Heyena has strange Vision of Detection sometimes no reaction at all until being attacked

Especially the Roll Jumping away mechanic works great and was heavenly needed for Chakar in close Combat

And the Flight System really works out Great already improved nicely i love the back hold Landing it's looking awesome, and the Player will get really fast into it just by using it that's a good easy design

Well, if this game doesn't produce the "bestiality" content you are looking for there are technically other developers out there that are doing stuff like this. ie The Rack 2.

As for the whole argument about bestiality in games, is the same argument used for necrophilia or pedophilia in games: If a politician, who doesn't play games or understand video games sees that content in a game, they'll think its real and the people who engage in it or support it are monsters (figuratively). So, the reason Patreon cannot allow it is because governments would ban Patreon in their countries and they'd lose massive amounts of income and large amounts of their potential markets. So, even if Patreon itself has nothing against bestiality in video games, they aren't going to risk their business model allowing it, so to be safe, they ban it. I don't find bestiality all that interesting myself, but each to their own. I got my fetishes, and others have theirs. No particular weird fetish should be banned in my opinion, but I can understand why Patreon does it.

In Germany, the average yearly salary (note salary not hourly) of a developer is roughly 54K USD. Divided by 12 months, that is $4,500 monthly. I believe they have said that their team is what 11 people? So monthly costs for just labor is $49,500 USD. Then you have to factor in other monthly costs; renting the office space, utilities for the office space, internet costs, spare cash in case a computer fails, costs to backup data (to avoid losing all your progress) and a bunch of other things like cost to stock the office fridge. So they could easily be eating up 56-60K a month. That is of course assuming they are paying at the average and not paying higher than the average.

And this is the low end of costs. If they were in the USA, the average developer costs about twice the amount of a German developer ~ 107K USD salary.
