There is a lot of things that need to be done and comparing a game like Assassins Creed that is made by a team of 1000+ people being made in 2 years
So according to you, following games are very small scale so they are extremely easy to make(to the point they absolutely can't be compared to wild life:ROFLMAO:) and also made by team of 1000+ people in 2 years with AAA budget:
  • Risk of Rain 2
  • Hades
  • Ring of Pain
  • Art of Rally
  • Othercide
  • Enter the Gungeon
  • Hollow Knight
  • Rogue Legacy 1 & 2
  • Wizard of Legend
  • Darkest Dungeon
  • Undertale
  • SUPERHOT
  • The Messenger

Am I missing some crucial information about porn games that somehow makes them two or three times harder to make than a normal game? If so, please enlighten me if you know it so well to the point you find yourself eligible for defending a game that takes too long to be completed by devs ;)

You aren't a game dev to understand how long it takes to make a game of this scale with a small studio like this.
I can understand how long it takes to make a game "with this scale" the same way I can understand, learn and write programs without necesserily becoming a professional developer. Besides programming, I also happen to know a few basic things about animation.

Actually curious to check out your list of high quality finished H games that had a reasonable development cycle. 3D wise, I can't think of anything outside of Japan.
I don't check the dev cycles of every game I play and even if I did, not all developers share the time they spent developing their games. The ones I found however(not h or AAA games) indicate this game and a few other games I follow on f95zone should've been completed already.

I get the feeling you aren't actually familiar with many good H games to share a good list of. That's a shame, you spoke like an authority on the subject and I would of liked to try out some good H titles. That being said, I dont think a list of decent western 3d H games even Exists.

I agree that the H game scene is in an infuriatingly incompetent state. The key issue you likely have overlooked about H games is that they are nowhere near as commercially viable as normal games. Most talented devs would just work on vanilla games that are far likelier to earn them success and sales. Those who are left over to do H games are subpar often money grubbing hacks with those who are genuinely passionate about creating erotic games being rare.

I have a few h games that I find better compared to others but I don't know how long it took for devs to make them, so I think they aren't relevant to the discussion, that's why I didn't write them. But if you still want to know, here you go(in no particular order):
  • The Fairy Tale of Holy Knight Ricca
  • ErisDysnomia
  • Monster Girl Club Bifrost
  • Last Evil
  • Goblin Burrow: I'll Borne
  • Seed of the Dead 2
  • Magical Girl Celesphonia
  • CUSTOM ORDER MAID 3D2
  • Koikatsu(and other illusion games)

I'm inclined to believe wild life devs aren't hacks but they probably have no plans(or had no plans in the beginning) about the future of this game. Otherwise this game would've been completed already. But to be honest, I only look at the results and I think everyone should do too, because they(and I) are potential customers and we have no obligation to learn "how to develop a game" just to understand the hardships devs may or may not have gone through. I am a simple man, if I see a game being developed for more than 4 years and its still not even close to being finished, I see it as a huge redflag and assume its gonna be very bad. It is usually a signal of either bad management, scam, or simply incompetent devs. All of those are basically same to me because end result is the same: a bad game. Exceptions exist but they are called exceptions for a reason. Anyway, I am done writing about this, I'll check this thread again in a few months, lets see if devs can turn this into an actual game by that time

AdeptusSteve himself has said earlier in this thread that all sex is planned to be consensual because of Patreon ToS and his personal vision for the game. No forced sex mechanics like modded Skyrim.

Side note, the rules behind crowdfunding websites basically make the development of bestiality or forced sex games impossible. Even Adventures of Kincaid, a sidescrolling furry game built around forced sex encounters, was recently changed to make the sex consensual, presumably because of vendor issues.
You mean like im games such as Tales of Androgyny instead? I wouldnt say modded Skyrim is a good example since moda are always something you can add or remove so making it personally consensual. Different is a case like ToA in which by booting the game itself youre already exposed to be raped....

Well I looked through about half of the titles you listed and some of them have console level graphics and the scale of the majority of them seem pretty small. I don't think you're missing any crucial information outside of trying to compare games that take much less effort to produce than wildlife in terms of visuals.

Honestly looks like a quarter of the games could be played on a browser, you just can't really compare their dev cycle to one that has a much bigger scope and requires more detail and polish since it's not some side scroller platformer like a handful on this list.

People who discuss if a game is gonna be finished or not are always arguing about the same points and always go in circles. Doesn't matter if its this game or litterally any other that has a rather open development blog.
In the end it always comes down to that both sides call each other out and try to pick apart every bit of argument that is being made.
If you want to support something, then do and if you dont want to support it, then dont. Most of the time you wont be able to change someones mind anyways.

And lets be honest, very often those that start these discussion with something like "omg how can you support this, its never gonna finish" are trolls anyways, who just want to rile up the crowd, since there are always those that then have to tell them "no sir, you are wrong and here is why....". And in the end the game thread is 10 pages longer with nothing important in it.

This game won't have pony or any other "feral" content, as it's not permitted by Patreon. In fact, while AdeptusSteve is releasing new variations and animations for each skeleton already in the game, he doesn't plan on releasing any new skeletons, meaning that the porn side of the game is basically feature complete at this point. You get what you see, which is human on human, human on anthro, and anthro on anthro, with a small amount of futa and ugly bastard sprinkled in.

The vast majority of the developer's resources are now being spent making the actual game, which is going to be a third person action rpg with sex minigames.
I had in mind more stuff like regular human girls that ride boys on all four or on a chariot...

Is it just me or this game really heats up the computer
Well, it is. I think that the main problem i that the game is not capable of disabling objects that you cannot see. So if you have a lot of models/lights sources/effects enabled in ur scene - performance is diving deep. You can disable them urself though manually or through the event system.

One, all of those games are lower scale than an oper-world RPG with multiple factions. Two, a team this size making an open-world RPG isn't particularly easy, especially when this is their first game and industry vets aren't exactly looking to come aboard.

I can understand someone going that the scope of the game might be a little big, but I don't understand the whining about the game not being done. It gets regular updates and the dev team is very transparent in communication. I'm not sure what people want, other than a rushed title.

I fail to see "open-world rpg with multiple factions" you are talking about in wild life.

Fair enough. Out of all those low quality bait tier posts, this is an actual valid counter argument.

I'm not whining, what you're seeing is people getting triggered because I basically said "is this game still not finished?".

If anyone is blind enough to not see this thread's start date, its Jul 20, 2017. That's more than 5 years IF we assume devs started development of this game on the same day this thread has started, which I doubt. So, basically more than 5 years of development and there is only a sandbox and a few maps with literally nothing to do in them(and they all run like shit).
I can't understand how this can be considered being "rushed" for completion of the game.
And for comparison, a game with AAA graphics and solid animations, made by a solo dev in his spare time while working on a full time job:

A short and linear game to compare, sure, but I don't see wild life utilizing its open world in any comparable shape to that game. That is, if you can even call this game's world an "open world". The first crysis game released in 2007 probably has bigger sandbox levels than this "open world rpg". Hell, I think gta sanandreas has a bigger and better real open world compared to this game, and gta sa was released in 2004 for ps2. I fail to understand what is taking so long, despite not even reaching the quality of a game(level design wise) made in 2004. I can't even compare the rpg aspect of this game to others, because it doesn't exist in this game. If it took 5+ years only for sex animations, I can't even imagine the time it is going to take to complete the game. Jesus christ, come to think of it, star citizen might actually be finished by that time.

Btw, I'm actually going to ignore this thread entirely for a few months, for real this time, just to see the progress after that. Let's see if something significant and meaningful happens in the meanwhile, or will it be the same ol' "added moar animations" type of progress? We'll see.
