There is real problems behind adding kerpali costumes and not adding male costumes. All of that is vanity shit, which can be added anytime. Literally, ANY time. And no one is going to whine about it.You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
BUT! when core systems and mechanics are not ready - u can die, adding over9000 costumes, and nobody give a damn about it, coz core mechanics are broken. More than one project has plunged itself straight into shit coz of this. Coz they've been literally milking their community for years adding some retextured shit instead of working on base mechanics. And when criticall mass of daves has start to ask questions - it was too late.
When you have base systems and mechanics ready and polished - u can answer every question about any vanity thing. But wnen all you do is milking - nobody is going to believe your "pals, pals, its ok, we're goint to work that out". Coz next question will be "and why the f u did not fix it all this YEARS before?"
For what i've seen, there was tremendous amount of work done, totally worth of waiting 5 years. Yet, I can't see any signs of working game mechanics. And I mean not the collision bugs in sword fight or cringe bow shooting - no. What I mean - I can't see the core, the Idea behind it all. Will fighting be one of main mechanics? Then it SHOULD more possibilities - adequate targeting, autolock, block or roll. Will shooting be present? Then there must be the way to take cover - and this leads to changes in design of levels.
Wil 3 red marks mean permanent hate from NPC? Or not? Whats the way to remove them?
Hundreds of questions, which demands answers now. Because implementing core mechanics later will be a nightmare for devs and disaster to project.
I'm saying all of this not because I want some answers from the devs. I don't want to struck my nose in developing process. But I want warn them and those, who expect miracles to happen on everyday basis. Gamedev - it is not an easy work.
Well, how about trying to sort that out then?i have a suggestion, why not make it a survival type game where you build a little house or something, gather things, and find other characters in the wild you can capture, have sex with, etc? Give up on the story line/fetch quest stuff and just go for Minecraft type or other survival type game (I haven't played any of them but i think i get the gist of what they are)
For survival they need to implement hunger and food items and hunger system. And maybe some simple agricultire system. And cooking.
And resuorce managing - collecting, mining, processing.
Also, crafting. And building. And shelter parameters for structures. A whole collision thing for building mechanics. And few big areas to survive.
And for all of that a shitload of models, textures, meshes, behavior blueprints, and so on and so forth.
Ready to wait another 10 years?
On the other hand, story - it is in fact just a text, which can be typped on a phone during bus ride. Which can be reviewed and edited counltless times before it became interesting - with no additional resources. And only when those few thousand words it transforms into complete live story - only then it needs additional resources like voice acting and maybe lipsync.
