Cool game so far. Isssue with the combat though. Not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, if so, sorry for the repeat. I really like it, but you really need to figure out a fix for the enemy fly off the map during. Also flying behind the UI windows. Got stuck in sim because the I couldn't target the enemy. Fix that and I'll jump back into it. No point until then.

Hold right click on your mouse and drag the visible area of the map so you can see and follow ships when they "fly off the map"(they don't, you just need to figure out how to follow them to areas of the map not on your scree. Hint: the map is a lot bigger than what you see on the screen).

Yeah, it needs more work; it's always a tradeoff between technical tasks, main story and sandbox content. The tacmap's definitely getting more love in the near future. One of the things I do need to do is rewrite the map navigation; I thought holding RMB and scrolling was pretty logical, but enough people have missed out on it that it's clear I should use another method.

Actually, I think it is quite intuitive, but lots of people miss things for various reasons... That said I think it would be very easily fixed with a LoM style tutorial. Big text, big button, concise instruction, and don't give an opt out for the first time through. If someone wants to click past the instructions that's their problem, and complaining about it usually ends up being just humiliating enough to teach a lesson. Jus' Sayin'

Right Mouse click and hold. I need even think of that, I knew how to scroll out, but didn't know you could move the map. Sorry never saw that. I will try that. Thanks. Must have missed that part when I was reading through the how to guide there.

Yeah, plugged in the mouse. Works just fine. Love your work man, played all of them. Love of Magic is still my number one. Be tough to top, but so far this one is lookin like a real contender. Keep it up.

not really sure if you should use denar (as the allies and colonies called it, instead of denarius) or as (with the plural being asses... not joking), since a denar was 16 asses, not ten. the american dozen comes from the latin way of utilizing monetary values, where asses where split in 12 (uncia) or 24 as the lowest denomination and most things were calculated from that. if anything, using "asses for your thoughts" or "aes for your thoughts" would make it even funnier. meh, just nerd talk from someone who had to study latin as a required language back in the 90's.

Will this one have a linear story or multiple routes/endings? Your previous games are linear from what I remember, but this one seems like it could be different since there's multiple powers with different goals and Persona inspired event progression.

No, there is one central story. The side stories can change, but the central story is unchanging (so it's quite similar to Love of Magic in both scope and side-content). Morningstar was less linear (with 4 distinct endings, multiple principal LIs). In the end I decided I preferred LoM's format for story-telling.

Damn, that's a shame. Girls look good and story seems cool, but I find it hard to get immersed in linear games, especially if they're sandboxes. Appreciate the reply tho. I'll give the game a shot.

It might be too soon to ask, but are you planning on a 290ish day game like LoM, or something in between Morningstar and LoM?

If whoever does the writing on this game isn't a major David Weber fan, I will eat my hat.
Oh, absolutely :D

The writing inspirations include Weber, CJ Cherryh, Elizabeth Moon, Heinlein, Jack Campbell and David Drake.

Expect big ass battles, missiles flying so dense they block out the sun, and characters muttering "for what we are about to receive, oh Gods, make us truly grateful".

If you have not read it, the Vorkosigan Saga is an absolute gem.

If you're wondering what gave it away, it was the rephrasing of Battlecruiser doctrine, when describing the role of a fast attack carrier.

:)

Yeah, I've read the Vorkosigen saga, loved the early Admiral Naysmith part :) MC in LoM/MS occasionally references it (Forward momentum).

I'm late to this party, I'm sure.

The evening before arriving in New Caledonia: talk to Keira in the bar and you basically debrief the mission you are going to run the next day. Makes more sense once you have of course, I was trying to figure out what we were talking about.

Sounds like it's just unlocking a day early, I'll have a look. There is some weirdness caused by allowing a lot of what was original night-time activities to be unlocked during the evening as well, which meant that things that were previously safe (because the night is spoken for) can now be accessed through the evening.
