The thing is - NO, their income is not FROM Patreon, but VIA Patreon.
Their source of income is their community.
I can't see patron-only pages anymore, so I can't see if patrons was ok with that character twist. And I don't remember how much of a problem that was for them. But there is a huge difference between what Patreon wants and what patrons wants.
Considering how long ago that change was and current patron support and the fact that patrons voted for the goth look? Patrons got what they wanted or were ok with the change.
Tho other then the goth look what other options were for Lilian?

If they have a subscribestar ready they could risk the jump, otherwise no trying to satisfy the community will just get the patreon and all of the money deleted. And realistically there's going to be a bunch of dead accounts they'd lose in the transition.
Subscribestar is notorious for not verifying accounts with no feedback for years.

Yeah, I agree, there is a risk and there should be a balance between doing what community wants and keepeng the original project original vision.
And THAT looks like some crucial info. I've heard things like that from creators, but AFAIK, that is common thing for Subs, and does not depend on the quality of the project or its contents

Have you considered, that there isn't a will? Patreon pressured, and they changed the underage girl to a goth girl. Most people love goth girls. Then why do so much to keep the original girl in? To appease the minority that, by principle, cannot openly demand what they like?
I think everything related to her sister was removed, so that scene was probably among them. I think there was a scene when she was pretending to be a peasant. Probably picrelated, but it was a while ago, so I dont remember.

I dunno if most people like goth or not, but if partons was ok about that change, then it's ok as long as it doesn't ruin dev's vision of that character.

If you're talking about next update being completed it should be released to the public soon. If you're talking about the game being finished, about 15 more updates are too come before it's marked as complete, so it'll be a long time before it's finished.
Game supposed to have slave and love routes, and so far only slave route is somewhat near the end. And some of devs or artists left. So ~45% complete.
