This needs a tutorial of some kind, I have no idea how to actually bottle a potion.
The instructions in the thread said to 'drag the bottle over the cauldron' but that's not doing anything.
I've dropped like 4 bottles into that thing, what the fuck are you supposed to even do?
Drag the bottle to overlap with the cauldron, not above it. Then, without releasing the mouse button, drag it to an empty slot in your inventory.

This works even on previously filled bottles. Additionally, there seems to be no penalty for handing the random townsfolk a random potion, for now at least, other than different people paying different prices for the potions.

So, in order to make money early, just make a potion for the first rando to walk in the door and fill every bottle you have with it. Then, sell those potions.
You can later on swap the potions in those bottles for other potions, but it seems you really only need to do this for the fisherman and the farmer's daughter (forgot their names.)

EDIT: Ignore that stuff I said about being able to sell random potions, I hadn't actually tried it myself. What happens, if you're curious, is the customer will take your potion, give you nothing (except, presumably, the finger) and walk out.

Is there an easier way to unlock all of the scenes than having to restart the game?

EDIT: Actually it's pointless to unlock scenes in the current build, as they will not unlock on the main menu.

Man, I closed the game because I couldn't figure this out, then found this comment, pressed Continue in the main menyu, got the ingredients and everything right, and then when I checked the chest, all the potions were gone.

Imma just wait for an update at this point.

In the latest version, the ingredients are saved after the game is released.

The bottles are in your chest, or they can be brought by a merchant.
In new verssion chest is empty..

merchant is really random thing.. had to turn down 4 customers before he came to sell something, although had to sell some of the starters ingridients to buy that (with 0 money you can't buy bottle)

Sorry but I will have to write a mostly negative comment.
1. Operating with items is clunky.
2. Managing recipes and items is clunky in general.
3. Brewing potions is either too damn strict or it doesn't work at all. I hope it's the former. This feature HAS to get better anyway.
4. I can literally throw bottles and/or ingredients offscreen and I lose them forever.
5. The quest guide feature is at a very low level at the moment. I really hope it gets better soon enough.

The only thing I managed to enjoy is the good visuals of the game. But it's kinda unplayable.

3/10.

Quick question: Can you get the fisherman quest again if you refuse? I'd like to say "we still don't have such potion/ingredients/whatever", but this option doesn't exist, and I'm tired of restarting a game that stop loading if I try to change window to do other things while it loads (you may say "it's just some seconds", but try to multiply these seconds for countless times). Same goes for the girl who's being asked for marriage, except that we don't even get to refuse giving her the next step she should take (aka "come back in a few days and I will help will kill these motherfuckers").

I've run into a problem. The girl who has to choose who to marry showed up, and I told her to go with the miller's son. But then she came back and asked for a transformation potion. She gave me the recipe and some human flesh, which is great, but the potion also needs mistletoe berries, which I don't have. I had to give her a random potion to get her to go away, but she keeps coming back and asking again. At first I was sort of okay with wasting random potions to get her to go away, as I had duplicates of a few of them, but the merchant has come a couple of times already and he's never had the berries in stock. Even worse, now she's showed up and when I drag a potion over her, it just drops on the floor, so I have no way to get her to leave. Has anyone else run into this issue? Any workaround or resolution for it?

There is a solution, all you have to do is download the latest version of the game.

People need to calm down, its an alpha version, expect a lot of bugs, placeholders and unfinished stuff, its a nice idea of a game tho, it neeeds a good tutorial, that pauses the game to teach how to play, and displays the text clearly for people to read, and maybe add an option to get ingredients from more reliable sources other than the RNG merchant.

It's a nice concept but there's a lot of stuff that needs improvement.

-So far, it seems you can only create very few potions. You only have around six bottles to work with and there doesn't seem to be a way stock up on them.
-Same with herbs, really. Some lady wanted me to brew a love potion but I don't have the ingredients nor did I see a way to make them. At this point I just alt+f4'd the game because I was pretty infuriated.

The guy who brings you herbs at the start of the game should either come every few days to stock you up, or give us the choice to go shopping whenever.

-I don't know if I'm the only one, but I also found the recipe book quite confusing. Some recipes say to heat up the cauldron first and then add herbs, others say that you need to add herbs first and only heat up the cauldron as a last step... In reality the order of steps doesn't matter. I had the cauldron heated up from previous cooking session and despite the recipe saying to heat up in last step, it didn't really matter.

Which brings me to my last point. If the steps DO matter, give us a choice to cool down the cauldron between brewing sessions. Some recipes require different degrees and setting up the time to go x100 just to wait for it to cool down is a waste.

You certainly don't have to listen to my criticism. These are just a few of the points that made me quit the game without even seeing any tits.
