Just play silver, it's basically the same game but Silver has more things... Last time I play silver it has some rough edges, but it's been how long, like 1 or 2 years and the silver page basically get updated monthly, so I doubt those rough edges isn't fixed.

disagree, i tried playing silver mod again and again and i can't get into it. performance is awful, the new UI looks soulless, it adds so much unnecessary bloat to the game, the writing for the new stuff isn't on par with akabur, the new girls are not nearly on the same level as hermione. there is also the problem that they just stole assets from star channel 34 which is kind of messed up

Yes, how dare a game steal characters and artwork from other sources. Why, Akabur's Jasmine, April O'Neill, Hermione, Lara Croft, and Jessica Rabbit would be shocked!

Is there some specific event I'm missing to get the game "started"? I've tried two playthroughs at this point and in the first one i started a little late hanging out with snape, but still have slytherin on a massive lead (1000+ points to gryffindors ~400), and i've hung out with snape so often that he just won't hang out anymore - but hermione has never once asked for a favour beyond asking for initial tutoring.

The only options I have with her are chit-chat and gift. She's not upset with me, do I just have to keep gifting her things arbitrarily?

I started a second playthrough with the goal of hanging out with snape as early and often as possible, I've got slytherin at 248 vs gryffindor 124 - but still hermione doesn't ask for any favours like a couple walkthroughs say.

Is there some trigger i've somehow missed to get the game properly started?

The game may have bugs.

It was enough to talk normally with Hermione and the "training" began. You didn't have to do anything but wait for her and talk to Snape in the meantime.

Personally, I recommend Silver Mod for this game. At the moment, it's basically a separate production and is still being developed today, so it has a lot less bugs and a lot more content (not to mention other characters).

This game is really old, so while it is good, there is not a lot of activity here any more. The Silver mod had its own thread. Akabur has mad several games since this one, and currently is working on one called Queen Trainer.

I assume that you download the same game with the link on this post.
If so after you unzip the game go to this link and download https://f95zone.to/threads/unren-ba...compiler-console-developer-menu-enabler.3083/
after that unzip it into the game folder. after done just run the file that already been extract and select number 3.
after done just run the game then press shift + o it will show console and you can type this example below line per line.

just type for example:

gold = 1000 (example the amount value you want to input can be any for sake example I put it 1000)
slytherin = 100 (Assuming that you want to increase slytherin point can be any amount)
gryffindor = XX (vice versa if gryffindor point too high just lower it put any number)
hufflepuff = xx
ravenclaw = xx

WT Silver is classified as mod, so maybe that's why you did't find it in games category. Also they have their own website

Well that's flat out false. For example, Silver requires befriending Tonks so she can convince Hermione to sell favors. It also changes Genie's character, like how he immediately sells out Snape, hoping to avoid imprisonment.

Akabur's original game was much more slim and cohesive. Silver is a pile of new outfits and incomplete character plots.
