I am also hoping that they dont mess her up with the new artstyle. She looked way too butch on that art promo they had a while back, where all the heroines were side by side. Hated it.

Yeah she just looks weird. The other are somewhat fine.



I dont know. The eyes are too big. The face is more round (overall this arstyle has everything too round imo). Piercings are too pronounced.

Frankly I just liked the old akabur style, where it was mainly just chibis, busts and a lot of good writing. The CG was the least important part of the game and they seem to hyperfocus on it. Just give me tons of dialogue, scenes and outfits. THATS what witch trainer is about. Not a few mid cg scenes...

This is very much a minority opinion, based on both what's been said in this thread, and what the team has taken as feedback when the general public has been asked.

Quite the impressive endevour! You might want to get on the discord and post this as a mod, so it's not lost in the pages of this thread. There's a chinese translation branch of the git, so maybe you could do something like that?

The old game doing so well shows what worked. When you make the minority your main playerbase, the majority may appear as minority. But who knows.

No one is forcing you to play this game. It is literally a mod of the main game. The main game is right there. You can play it. It's real. I promise.

"Why doesn't this mod cater to my interests" is such a weird fucking argument. The artists are making it the way they want. Because it's a mod. They're modding the original game.

Personally, I also prefer the old art, After all, when we like something, the original the one we’re familiar with tends to feel superior, while the new one often seems strange. but from what I’ve seen, the style wasn’t entirely consistent because some scenes were done by different artists. So, even though I prefer the previous style, if this new art allows for more consistent settings and easier (and quicker) development, I’d definitely prefer to stick with it. Besides, I believe that’s why they chose this style in the first place.

Same here. The best part for me in the original was the dialogue. I mean, I love some good character art, but I really don't care much about full CGs, especially if they're not made by Akabur. It doesn't help that they decided to multiply the work tenfold by animating them either.

Little bit of an overexaggeration there. The last full public release was in March, with updates regularly on the git for those who want to check ongoing progress.

Except there is a flaw in your logic. It isnt a mod that has "hey we are just adding cgs to this game" in its title and description. It was supposed to be expanding on the game. I dislike the way they took that expansion and voice my opinion. Your statement is the one that is fucking weird. Just because you disagree doesnt make other opinions not matter.

They already removed a lot of chibi stuff and pasted those scenes over with cg. Not feeling hopeful.

How can i get this game running? It's a renpy game, right? Shouldn't it just start when i click the exe? Instead I get some error about a module pygame_sdl2 that can not be found. I'm on Windows 10 btw and I can run other renpy games just fine.

with what you extracted packet? other options are that it doesn't like your graphic card.

Is there a joke with his name? Like, sure, jokes can be made with his name in context of this game, but Fawkes is his actual name, and I don't see any joke with it in context of the actual series.

Feeding Fawkes does do something. It makes me feel better. He's a good bird.

Can you post a screenshot of the error? Or the logfile?

I have a strange bug where persistent (Settings, read text, achievements) aren't saved. For some reason they are reset every time I start the game.
Does anyone know how to solve this?

Edit: Solved it reinstalling the game fixed it.
