I'm working on the game currently.

As for the plans, I've shared them in more detail on my boosty page, but in short, right now I'm updating the Hermione' character, it would require an updated wardrobe (I want to introduce at least hairstyles, but maybe new outfits, lipstick colors, maybe heavier makeup?).
I think I'll need to update Galatea also, otherwise it would be weird having two different styles together.

As for the story update, I'm working on the story, I think I have a good one, but before I'll start introducing it, I want to implement the core corruption mechanics, like Docility Classes, Tantra, being able to influence Hermione in her dreams, proper potion and spell mechanic, things of that nature. That would require several new characters, as well as new art.

Once I feel like I have a solid mechanical foundation (engagement loops with the gradual progression) I would start overlaying the story on top of that.

The fact that I'm not introducing the story yet, doesn't mean I'm neglecting it, I've made several outlines and drafts already, now I've narrowed it down to a storyline that I like, and I'm gradually improving on it. So when the more technical aspects are ready, I would be able to jump into the storytelling.

That said, I still want to add more dialogue even before that. While doing that I want to try introducing a voiceover for Hermione, there are examples of it somewhere in this thread.


Can't give you a date at this point, but once I've updated Hermione, her wardrobe, and professor Seam, I'll release it on boosty, and a bit later I'll post it here. We'll see how it goes from that point on.

Generally speaking, if it's already in the game, it's probably will be included in the update as well (with the exception of the cat brows and whiskers, they look ridiculous in the photoreal style so far tbh), so yes, there definitely will be runny makeup of various stages of 'runniness', but also more conventional ones, like smoky eyes, darker lips, etc.

I do see your point, and as far as I'm concerned, engaging mechanics and beautiful art would probably be the better base for the game. It definitely is more technically challenging, that's why I want to focus on that first.

However, I have an ambitious goal of making the best corruption game possible (it's obviously an open question of me being able to execute that).
I'm still determined on providing (eventually) several ways of playing the game - light-medium-dark.

In the dark one I want to go deep into the whole concept of breaking down the will of the person, what it requires (psychologically and physically) and what would the implications of that be?
What does it really mean to destroy the sense of self-respect to the point of blind obedience? How would the player approach this, using fear and intimidations, or more subtle manipulation of the weaknesses, playing of of traumas, deep rooted sense of inadequacy, desire to fit it?

What makes Hermione tick, why is she the way she is, always trying to prove something, to prove the fact that she's worth something, and her exceptional reverence for the authority figures.

And to counter that dark path I want to introduce more romantic way of playing, where you can genuinely feel the compassion and respect for the character and to help her, rather then just bend her to your will.

But in order to do that, I need the underlying game mechanic to be able to support different strategies.

And I also realize that my story plans might sound at the very least too ambitious if not straight up pretentious lol, so I want to lay down the ground for that first. After all, the current version of the game (the one posted here) has just wardrobe mechanics implemented, and I would call it a moderate success since people seem to like it, so that's probably the way to go.

I do not think that this is in any way true. If you wanted just porn, there are many other options. I'd wager the majority of people decide on playing porn games, BECAUSE they want more than just porn.

Look at the whole visual novel genre. Sure, there are Nugike, and they are successful, but most of the famous and successful games have a normal or even low count of actual sex scenes.
I am NOT claiming to actually speak for the majority of people playing porn games, unlike others, but for me at last, and for many others I know of, it's the COMBINATION of story and porn that makes me interested in these games.
Again, if I would just want porn, one google search and I get thousands of hits for any porn I'm interested in.

Damn, that is great. You can clearly see the artist in you through this, as your descriptions literally form images in my mind.

I also don't think your ideas are too ambitious. After all, like with a comicbook, the writing while important usually goes way faster and is easier done, than the artwork, especially once the artwork is there (Marvel method of old).
There are already great games playing with that concept. Fe. College Days, it's just an html game with real porn images and videos, but the way you can choose your approach into corrupting and/or romancing the girls sounds similarly to what you envision (in a good way, not in a copycat way).
In a scene similar to yours above, it could fe. play out pretty much as envisioned, with the MC appearing in the end to either torture the woman even more mentally, or you could appear as the saviour, treating her nicely and comforting her, or you could offer an option at several points during the scene where the MC could decide to either influence the dream to be even more degrading or to either just act earlier in saving her or change the dream a bit away from horror to lust etc..

With your art and the plans you have and with how you described this scene, your game COULD definitely be among the greatest corruption games ever. It sounds and looks fantastic.

Cannot be more wrong, imo. We (at least I) like games because they are an exploration of fantasy, greater than the pictures wich accompany it. Look at the VN classics, from Teaching Feeling to Euphoria they couldn't be more different, but both are very memorable, because their story can move you, in a way or the other. It's the difference between fast food and a gourmet meal, yes, both are food, both get turned into mush into your stomach, but one lingers in your memory a lot longer.

I seem to be getting a lot of disagreement on this one - perhaps by people who feel differently about stories than most, or people who don't understand the meaning of the word 'primary', or just people who haven't properly understood the grey text. Or maybe I'm too inured to games with poor stories but good art (such as my other Sig link - Something Unlimited)!
