The alternative to that though is 10-15 years of 2-3 hours per day of art practice though

So 15 minutes isn't nearly as big a deal as you'd think imo. Artists can do this fast, but the hours they've spent honing their craft isn't inconsequential.
Yes, don't get me wrong, as a technology it is amazing, but it's still hard to manipulate and imprecise. It took 15 minutes to get a simple object right, if you want more complex arrangements, with a set perspective, artstyle, etc. that time scales up a lot, and even then you might not be able to convey to the AI what exactly you want.

The reason I cannot wait for a language model to be added to the mix, is because it will allow you to make the precise alterations you need. Move one of the objects in the background to a better spot, shift the angle a little bit, refine details of clothing, etc.

I'm not going to lie, I don't really care about the ethics of using AI to generate art for indie porn games that will likely only ever get 1000 downloads. If you don't want to see them you can exclude ai art in the tags

Thanks to the people who did like it, and thanks for a lot of constructive response! Taking it into account for the next build. Player camera should no longer clip through colliders and movements are more fluid with strafing etc at least. Will be out when I get around to putting roofs everywhere now that the camera is free. Also, I can hear I probably have to scrap or at least seriously revamp the ball mini game lol

In terms of the AI debate, and I'm probably shooting myself in the foot here by addressing it at all, I kind of consider it the same as piracy. Just like it doesn't have that big of an impact on sales because the people who can't afford something simply won't buy it, there are artists so talented in these models that I would never be able to commission them. The alternative is that the game wouldn't have been made, that the artists are no less or more rich, and that they get less publicity overall. That's not to say that I do them a favour because obviously I gain from this "transaction" more than them. If I look at it a little more egoistically, there are things in motion now with AI that are not going to be stopped, and I might as well just follow along while I still can because artists are going to be laughing at people like me in 5-10 years when we too are automated

in conclusion, if there for some reason is ever a paid version of the game, feel free to pirate it

Can only hope that they are so that devs who have no artistic talent, and are from countries where paying for an artist isn't feasible, are able to pursue their goal of making a game. That is what I see as the best thing to come from AI art - people who cannot afford to hire people being able to still have a creative outlet.
The problem is that 99% of people that use AI-generated art in their games are doing it to make a quick and easy buck from Patreon. It's basically the same as using Daz3D models.

Fighting against AI art is like when factory workers fought against the Industrial revolution or against automation. Lot of skilled jobs were lost then as well, art is just an other step. You don't see people fighting against 3d printers, it's just a great tool that let you do things that you otherwise couldn't. Ai art is not different. It's an uphill battle, it cannot be won, and it shouldn't. It's progress, it has cost people their jobs as long as civilization has been around. Anyone who dares will be lawnmowed. If artists want to survive this, they will have to incorporate it as a tool in their arsenal. Just like, as a developer, I have to do with GPT.

I, for one, welcome our AI overlords.

Probably true AI will not go away anymore and somehow everyone will have to get used to it at some point even if i would wish those art stealing AI's wouldnt exist. Personally i dont like AI art visually in most cases and also i think the problem that it straight up is stealing art of artist who do not consent to it is a big one. I guess we are at a point where its better to start learning to love it than fighting against it since yeah it really seems like an uphill fight.

This dev is wasting his talents on porn games.
Dude should make rage games for streamers to play,
that stupid ass fucking ball game took me 20 minutes of pure suffering to complete.
WHO SET THE ACCELARTION THAT HIGH
WHY THE FUCK ARE THE STAIRWAYS SO BADLY PLACED
overall good ass
would love to see more ball games

SCARY AI ART THOUGH, wondering if I have a future or if the ai are going to make me a dog.

You finished the ball game after only 20 minutes? Damn that's impressive. I don't think I could have done it with even an hour. It was way too frustrating and I was only getting worse as time went on.

anyone else getting AV hits on the mega download?
Not sure about that, but I recommend waiting to play it at any rate until the next update with fixed player movements+cam, bug fixes, and more quests are out. Should be a couple of days at most

Lol I'm howling. For anyone that found the ball game frustrating, dw it's getting gimped (fixed) or made skippable without a stat loss in the next build too

Yeah. Cause the devs who write these programs, and scrape the artists work to 'train' the AI are all amazing. That's why they were scraping actual artists and not paying for their work. The ones who aren't good enough aRtIsTs are the ppl who rely on this shit.

Deformed hands, mishapen faces, pussies LITERALLY in the side of a fucking LEG. All are what I've seen as just a pittance of examples of this shit. But this is better then the actual artists who actually can draw. You're idiotic.
My dude, it's an open source AI. Most of them aren't backed up by multi-billion dollar companies. Give it a year or two, it literally improves noticeably in a matter of months.

Fucking lmao. Well unless something seriously breaks, the new version with character movement should be out in a few hours and it'll let you skip them entirely

When Ai does the rendering for you but can't write a good story :ROFLMAO: (n)
Sorry to hear that but ty for playing nonetheless. Can you touch on which parts you didn't like (if you want)?

Game really needs map, and/or quests need better pointers, I've been looking for Great Hall for half an hour, I'm giving up.
It might be just me, but game is too bright/muddy during day, it really hurts eyes...
