Is the bathroom party the last event for non-beta players? I kind of got stuck after it and I can't do anything. My quest says "go to bed", but I have only "no" and reset daily options. I have a couple of quests I didn't do, but I can't do them because it's "night". So I wonder if there's some funny code that checks if I done X,Y, Z quests to allow me to progress further or is it just the end for non-beta build of the game. Is there a console line for changing time of the day? Or am I f-ed? I don't wanna play for the 5th time, because my save is not working..

I think there plenty of vailed reasons to use AI generated writing and Art, or even coding special for small companies who may not be able to afford to pay high wages. it kind of like the agricultural sector for example with farming you can pay less than minim wage, which is setup for small farmers, can hire people and include in there pay things like room and board food so forth as part of the pay.

I think issue is when a small business becomes a larger corporation, where they can afford it but take advantage of the same rules that are there for small one- or two-man businesses.

for example, it be one thing for a single person to use AI to help them developer a game it's a total diff thing for a company like Disney to do that.

I just put this in there due to how this small developer seems to by state morally conflicted with use of AI....

and my view is if your small and just can't afford the help, then I think AI is fine it also maybe might help more people become developers them self's in future so instead of working for people perhaps AI become a thing where more people can create their own Images where before they may not been able to, which could possible lead to more people making more monie form their own ideas vs working for someone.

so, to developer do not feel you really need to put in talk about remedying your use of AI..

AI is just progress, and progress is like a steam roller those who get in it the way gets flattened.

It's really cool whenever you see somebody trying to make a smut game with a little bit more ambition is the story or mechanics department. I love how it looks (game assets and CG), and it really has a nice cozy atmosphere. Having said that, there are a lot of rough edges I have comments about (but I'm sure the dev is already aware of most of them).
  • Performance is extremely bad. I get optimization isn't top priority at this stage, but after playing for half an hour I need to quit out because of how bad the stuttering and pop-in become.
  • The bloom effects are really excessive. I think you overdo them to the point that they detract from the game's aesthetic.
  • For me the default third person camera was almost unusable. Even the slightest collision with things in the environment would send the camera rocketing forward into the protagonists body.
  • The top down view was better, but the tendency for the camera to clip through walls and blast your eyeballs with an infinite white void was a bit jarring.
  • Walking around is has a very weightless, floaty feel to it which isn't very satisfying.
  • Multiple times I encountered things where the interact prompt appeared, but didn't respond to anything. This almost happened when I had to take a seat for the first class, which was particularly annoying.
  • The yes/no interaction prompt for every staircase and door is very clunky. A simple press/hold E would be much smoother.
  • Being able to exit conversations immediately with esc or some other key would be nice. I accidentally re-opened the interactions for a few characters and it was irritating having to mash through their conversation again.
  • The music track changes every time you transition through a door, which is s bit jarring. The very short background loops also get tiring very quickly.
  • On the other hand the background chatter sounds seemed to be consistent (even when in the middle of classes). More variety in volume and intensity would help a lot with the illusion that this is a real place.
  • Speaking of, something to independently change the music and sound effects volume instead of just an option to mute the game would be nice.
  • Navigating is quite confusing. I think this could be helped a lot if you placed more landmarks at regular intervals. Things like distinctive painting or suits of armor. This would also give the castle some more variety.
  • It would be nice if there was an indication which doors or npcs can be interacted with. Like a faint outline glow. Currently having to go around clicking on everybody to make sure they don't have anything to say is annoying, and there's no way to tell what is or isn't interactable from the assets alone.
  • IMO you need to do a bit more work establishing the world. You've changed a lot of things about the setting (which is fine), but it's confusing when these changes pop up in conversations with no context for what they are or how they relate to the rest of the setting that is already familiar.
  • Writing is interesting, and you're doing lots of good work trying to build up your cast of characters. My two main problems are that most characters speak in a very similar, slightly too-formal way, and occasionally some of the dialog is a bit stilted. Some more editing could help it a lot.
  • The text needs to be bigger. At least 1.5-2x bigger. It's just not as easy to read as it should be, especially when it's overlaid on the pale stone.
Interested to see where this game goes though. :)

Oh I wasn't commenting about when you mentioned "hand holding",
I meant the other guy, the great godofgames who's livid that porn games aren't more difficult :KEK:
Not that I understand what a map has anything to do with "game difficulty".

I have no problem with getting lost a bit, that's gameplay. The issue is getting lost again, again and again, simply cause the map throws you off.
The quests are mostly go from point a to point b, which is fine.... until there is 20 points where its simply memorization.
And with the updates, eventually you might even add more, right?

There's no functionality to many of the rooms aside from quests, which makes it simply memorization and nothing else.
You aren't incentivized to remember where a room is at all until it's brought up again from another quest.
So chances are, many won't bother to memorize it -> which leads to the current conundrum here for many players.

So if you forgot where a room is for whatever reason, you would try to reference the map.
But if you reference the map, your movement from room to room is just janky due to how big the map is and how weird the map movement is.
Everything becomes a slog and you'll find yourself constantly checking the map instead of purely traveling or enjoying the sights of the game.
The effort required to do a simple point a to point b is multiplied many times, repeat that constantly and many will just get frustrated.
It's taking away a lot from the gameplay.

Long story short for the average player -> when you're better off memorizing your movements instead of referencing the map.
It says a lot about the map..

I personally like the witty dialogue, AI art and the whole concept of trying something new.
My only qualms is a map that does jack all, calling it a map is all but in name.
I would have no problems if it imitated a real world map or even outright used the hogwarts map, cause those are ACTUAL maps.. they do what MAPS do.
>when you're better off memorizing your movements instead of referencing the map. It says a lot about the map..
Well, to be fair, that is sort of what I was aiming for. The map is there to create a general idea of where in the castle you are. I feel like a lot of rooms in video games have no "incentives" in terms of being remembered other than to serve as directions for later uses, and that's fine. That said, as mentioned I do want to add some uniqueness to some rooms to make it easier to memorise these places, and SLIGHTLY update the map to create a better sense of precisely what the current floor composes of. Thanks for the words too, it's appreciated

Yo man, thanks a lot, seriously. I am not going to speak too much on this again because I don't want to invite unnecessary trouble, but it's appreciated man

A lot of really, really good points to address here, and I'll probably do so more in depth when I am on the other side of this coming release, but I can at least say that there are attempts at fixing a couple of the issues you have brought up. Thanks a lot for taking the time to write down your issues, and thanks for the words in general!

There are commands to fix most issues like that and you can simply contact me on Discord with your exact issues. The bathroom party is the last major event for non-patreons tho yup! There are a couple of other small things in the most recent public release, but they are sort of scattered around the castle, starting with Sprout's quest

beyondrepair I'm sorry if you felt I was being unfair in my replies. Trying as much as I can to address everything, but I'm in the middle of finishing a release so it's a bit hectic. The way the map is intended to work is for people to familarise themselves with the layout, more than it is to tell you the location of the SPECIFIC room you're looking for. In that way you're right, it's not a "good" map, but I just wanted a middleway between Witcher 3 tier radar system and total confusion.
To use it "correctly", I recommend reading the part of almost (some few may be missing, will be addressed) every quest where it tells you which floor the room you are looking for is. Then you can check your map as you go and see if you are in the correct building, need to go up or down a floor, etc. Then when the banner with the current floor in the mapview tells you the same as what the quest does, you have narrowed it down to searching just that floor

What?

(y)Nice.

"The way the map is intended to work-"

but I just wanted a middleway between Witcher 3 tier radar system and total confusion
It's your game, you're the creator, whether you want to envision dark souls or witchers, all the power to you.
Your response is coming off as completely tone-deaf, so I'll stop responding now.
Take my responses / review with a grain of salt, I'm just one player, I'm not a game dev or know the intricacy of making my own game.

Aside from that, good luck with your otherwise great game.

With the latest release here, I'm stuck again.

The game won't let me save because "saving prevented by an event" and I have no clue what this event is or if I have any way of progressing it. My closest guess is that I received a "Someone is looking for you prompt", I believe after being chosen as the Secretary, but nothing has happened.

Despite having the "Day's End" Quest, each time I try to end the day, it says that daily quests are reset, but the day count won't progress.

Appreciate any help and tips!

My eyes aren't the best so I'll wait till there's an option to enlarge the text/boxes. I don't want to give myself an ocular migraine trying to read the text no matter how fun the game looks.

So I'm not sure where i am atm, but i seem to be somewhere in the gray hellscape outside the castle, I think i fell out of a window or wall this is during the Mabinogion Castle event, also there was an attic that didn't seem to be accessible, i somehow squezed in and barely made it out again. attic with a ladder and two beams in this same space, just fyi.

OK, I'm apparently blind as hell. There are a couple of things at the beach I cannot for the life of me seem to find. As far as I can tell, I've looked everywhere, but obviously I've missed something. I have found (not comprehensive):
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
What I have not found:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
Since I'm apparently blind, could someone point out where the bar is found?

Edit: I found Hana; I just thought it was some random girl on the raft. SMH.

Also, bluewitchgames, FYI I consistently fall through the world when finishing the bath party (where Hermione's clothes go see-through). I've repeated the entire event multiple times, and nothing ever changes. I do everything in the entire bath scene, and I just have "Spend the night" left in the quest tracker. When I then use the door to exit the bath, everything disappears and my character is in free-fall. If having a save will help, let me know the location of those and I'll attach one (right before talking with Hana on the way to the party) for you.

Hello everyone, I'm new to the game and am stuck at the image of these 3 girls so I can't get out to continue the "find hope's room" part of the Friday evening mission. 1703235217311.png

Discord Update
srtshooterToday at 4:12 PM
Been a while since I've used this channel so I think I'm allowed ONE

Everyone,
New public release is up and ready. With the exception of the final stage, the 0.55 release is now unlocked!

Can be downloaded here:

The new duel mode I've mentioned earlier is about finished and will just need its rewards dispersed throughout the game + some last fixes. It'll probably come up with the next release

Next stage is the Yule Ball! It'll probably come out in 2 parts, hopefully 2 weeks apart only, and the first one should have the duel stuff + new story content. Additional writer on so perhaps that should speed things up a bit!

I'm also looking at outsourcing parts of the art generation. If you're interested in that, do reach out to me. You don't need a good GPU, but some experience with stable diffusion would be preferred. Pay would be low and it's mostly if someone would be interested in adding their touch and using stable diffusion in general

---

Here at the end, I want to say thanks! First of all to the patreons who make this entire project possible and have been supporting me throughout this entire thing. Cheers guys, seriously

Thanks also to the people who have reached out, whether privately or with general bugfixing here in the channels. I am not going to make it weird and use specific names, but there have been a lot of you who have been a great support and I really appreciate it

Finally, thanks to everyone for following this project in general. I feel like it's finally in a stage to actually start pushing it and possibly getting more people on, and I got some big hopes for these coming months! Ty guys!

————————————

FYI, the file from this update is about 250 MB larger than the previous release, being over 1GB in size now. So although the version number is the same, this is absolutely an update and not what you may have already downloaded from this site.

Started a new game. First mission, enter your room. I go in and that's it. A conversation should start, but it doesn't. Anybody have the same problem?

P.S.
The problem turned out to be BepInEx. When translation is enabled, the conversation does not start. Before entering the room, it is necessary to switch off the translator ALT+T. I've never had this problem before.

I'm not too familiar with BepInEx, and it's not an intentional 'feature'. I'll have a look at what could be causing the issue. The release wasn't really supposed to be published here on f95 until later in the day, but it looks like someone beat me to it
