I checked the page for an update and it looks like the devs is running into a few delays most likely because of work, but I also think he’s mentally drained so he might take a few breaks but still continue to work just a slower process now and he said something about or shutting down the donations on November 15 on his Patreon page so most likely the game will have a major update next year. So let’s support the devs and creators and let them know to rest so he could continue fresh the wait it should be worth it.

He works slow but I'll give him the fact that he posts monthly and disables Patreon when he takes too long, at least. Plenty of games where the devs just ghost for like a year and keep accepting donos.

Plus, he's overhauling the game (both code-wise and drawings-wise), because the current version of rpgmaker is struggling with the game's content, so he has to make sure that both previous content and new content works properly after the overhaul, and he has a real life job, and with Japan's work culture being absolutely inhumane, it's commendable that he both makes progress reports every month (to be fair, most Japanese porn game devs do that) and disables donations whenever progress slows down.

i've tried a lot of things, but I'm still not sure on how to continue story beyond getting myself trapped in the castle. I've already made a separate save where I grind a bit more, all I need now is clear instructions on where to go and what to do as the past replies im seeing are unhelpful
that's nice and all but I have no room for discovering new changes later when I've no idea on where to progress before the updates. I meant as in where and what to do to progress. I haven't beaten the flame knight or the second slime boss, instruct as if im just starting the game please
Thats why, it ends at the flame knight the next update will improve and extend the story and add side quests, especially indicators and markers for easy navigation, but right now he is fixing the RPG maker and dealing with real life situation so be patient the wait is worth it.
the creator of the game has decided to work on the game silently until 0.8.0 is finished, as such there will be no updates until that happens(assumed to be around 2025), all funds from fanbox and patreon have been disabled until then

Yes but next year maybe, the dev want release full 0.8.0 demo cuz he's remade the art style, game mechanic and he's very busy in his real life.
Wait he redid the artstyle? When did that happen? Last I checked he remade his character designs. And yeah he's basically taking some time off because he's worn out due to beeing busy with real life and working on the game so plans to have next update early next year.

Artstyle is the same, improved if I'm being honest. A lot of the sprite is being remade though, evident by recent posts and sneak peaks.
Honestly no idea if VerehrER is taking a break, but they are busy. So progress has always been slow since back then. Making a game has always been more like a hobby/side project to them.
Best to do is wait at the moment.
