Well, was finally able to get caught back up with the Dev on this game. After being able to explore the whole house, I knew the bed had to be something to do with it, as when I picked the bed, it kept saying about not enough room for both. So it took a bit to trigger it right, as several times, it was like just a normal hiding behind something, but suddenly, it did work, and got past it. Luckily, the courtroom was much more straight forward, but not looking forward to playing that hide and seek with the spider lady ever again.

I added a Walkthrough option in the Options menu that highlights the right choices for people who don't want to do the guessing and exploring. It'll turn the right choice green.

That being said, I'm definitely taking notes on community response to things like this, as I'd like to avoid this kind of frustration in our next project.

Thanks fir the post, the walkthrough is a good idea. For some games walkthrough would make the game more enjoyable. Keep up the great work.

I'm putting together a FAQ and would like some of your frequent questions! Technical troubles, questions about the gals, Aurum or any other characters, plotlines, accessibility, you name it. I'll be gathering the most important (relatively speaking) and most asked questions, so if you see someone ask what you were going to, repeat it anyway, so I know more people want answers! Your contributions will be greatly appreciated!

Maybe something like "when will X girl get content?", some sort of roadmap would be good too, then some stuff about fetishes that might take place, and if they are avoidable (the smaller characters for instance, and the trap or trans characters). :)

I published a roadmap not too long ago. That might be good to include, absolutely.

need to add sandbox tag
Please don't start this again. It's not sandbox at all. It is a linear game that takes breaks from the main story to allow you to pick a girl to hang out with, then goes right back to the main story. No stats, no grind, no random events, none of that.

Adding the sandbox tag would be horribly misleading for people looking for a real sandbox experience, and would turn away people looking for a linear story, which is what this is.

[PROGRESS REPORT] Windows Can Eat Me

Hi. Progress report. Do I sound angry? 'cause I'm angry.

image_2025-05-23_104010971.png

Alright, we woulda had more progress except that one scene took me all goddamn night and part of the next day. And that's because it had 112 shots, some of which ended up as video loops. Oh, but that's not the kicker. While renaming the default names of the images, I realized I'd screwed up and needed to undo that. So I did what any sensible person (I thought) would do. I hit CTRL+Z.

AND 30 OF MY MOST COMPLICATED SHOTS DISAPPEARED. I assume due to name conflicts. Which means they didn't go to the Recycle Bin. And wouldn't you know it, I had File History for my folders turned off. So I ran Recuva and what do ya know... it didn't find them.

So I had to shoot those 30 shots all over again. I am now in the habit of copying all the shots to another folder and renaming them inside that folder only. I am not letting this happen again.

ANYWAYS... we've decided to do something different with this episode. We will, of course, be delivering the whole episode at once, but we realized that there are 10 Free Time opportunities in this episode, and most of you will have already gone through all of the available Free Time content... so we decided to do at least 10 Free Time scenes and ship them with this episode in the same build. That way, there will be at least 1 new scene in every Free Time opportunity, even if you've finished all the Side Story scenes in 1.4.5.0.

Despite my difficulties, this scene is gonna be NUTS. Can't wait for you guys to play it.

That's all for now. Will be back again soon with more updates.

Been playing back through the game after the latest update.

I haven't finished my replay yet, but one jarring difference is that in the first linear game section (episode 1 I guess?) you went through and helped Chiara give her white rose bracelet to Eshtel.

Playing back through, you help Chiara, she gives you the bracelet, and then you get the Dryad to preserve it. Then it's blackholed never to be mentioned again. Weirdly afterwards you see Chiara wearing a white rose bracelet and she mentions "Yeah, I made one for myself".

This doesn't at all jive with the previous story content from when I last played through from the beginning. (Which admittedly was a long time ago.) Just wondering, why the weird drastic change?

*Edit: It's just gotta be a reorganizing of the storyline timeline I'm guessing. My old save is there. I can see it. Hell, I can load it and it doesn't crash. So the code is still in the game to present Eshtel with the bracelet. It's just not in the same order it used to be, and the intervening "I'll preserve the bracelet" scene should have been a hint to me I guess.

*Edit 2: Just finished my clean playthrough. The chance to talk to Eshtel is never triggered. I even went back and played through it one more time up until that point in the game (Before Seraphina finds Nook for you after she's been missing), and it never triggers. Loading my old save lets me completely run through all 3 variantions of the scene, and then eventually moves on to the Seraphina finds Nook scene.

Not sure what is going on, but seems very very odd.

Eshtel's Side Story hasn't been added yet. We'll be adding some of her story after the next Main Story. We have to tie up a certain story point before Eshtel becomes available to romance. Plans are in this roadmap:

You would not BELIEVE the amount of rage I got because I forced players to give away a love interest. I had people screaming NTR even though that is nowhere near the definition of NTR, and it was almost a death sentence for this game. So I backed out and decided to make it a choice later in the story, because players want agency over what happens in their story. So when Eshtel's story happens, you'll be able to either give her the bracelet and say it's from you, or say it's from both you and Chiara, and you both date her. Mono route and Poly route. The main flow of the story will be the same, but the Poly route will have extra scenes with Chiara in them.

But yeah, the decision to make it a choice later on was purely from player rage and people actively trying to kill the game because of it. I mistakenly believed Eshtel wasn't very popular and no one would mind. I was very wrong lol

As far as Chiara having a bracelet... that may be an oversight. I'mma have to look through the script and adjust it. Appreciate you mentioning it so I can fix it!

Gotcha.

If I had to guess the Chiara making herself a bracelet was a quick and dirty cover (kind of like the "I'll preserve this for later") for the adjustment to the storyline you mention.

Honestly I thought it was a pretty cool idea to share a LI with a lesbian (who seems to sorta/possibly be having mild bi thoughts) with the MC. I've really enjoyed the game, I'll keep an eye out for updates as they come.

Glad to know that you can seemingly reuse a bit of your previous codebase (since the code still exists for the Esthel stuff, just isn't referenced to trigger during playback.)

This has been today's episode of "People Really Need to Get a Grip." Thank you for watching.

Right, exactly. And I can still do that exact same story I had in mind; I just needed to make it a choice and not forced on the player. I came from writing novels, and this was my first AVN, so adjusting to player agency in the beginning was a big challenge, as a lot of the things I had assumed about writing were true in the novel world and false in the AVN world.

Same with River, the Harpy, and Cecilia. They were all originally Core characters, but all contain some sort of potentially objectionable content, so I moved their romance routes to the Secret category, as Secret characters require you to make a choice and opt into their content. All the stories are still there. You just have to seek it out now, and I always warn the player when there is a critical decision that will enable or disable a romance route. This seems to have satisfied a lot of people, and I'm pretty happy with the current state of the game. There are still a couple of things I'd like to smooth out in Season 1 Episodes 4-6, but overall I think we did pretty well with what we had.

That being said, being a first AVN, I made a ton of design mistakes in this story, and I'm gonna take what I've learned from this to make our next project better. It'll most likely be Goblin Roommates, but time changes things, and I've had several other ideas since then.

Anyways, thanks for the input!
