Hey dev, I understand all the tags in the genre, and I like some of them—except for the possible tags (excluding 'Animated,' of course).
They're all about grinding and extending gameplay time. Are these actually planned features, or just possibilities with no guarantee they'll be added?
If you end up adding a grind fest in the middle of the game, it could really disappoint those who prefer a normal VN experience.
Also, I saw 'Monster' in the current tags. What exactly does that refer to in the game? Just curious before deciding whether to follow this project. Thanks!
No I have a file that removes textboxes from renpy games and another that adds a black border to the text.
If you want to do it through URM you can though, there's a "textboxes" section.
Really...am i seriously that blind??? Hang on i'm checking...
Jesus fucking christ you have got to be kidding me...i was trying through the searchbar i guess searching for opacity...still would think i would look down the left side.
If Beerus can match the quality and quantity of his Renpy visuals with the quality and quantity of his writing, this could be the greatest adult visual novel ever made.
This may be a dumb question, but wasn't there a similar game but on html? If yes, it's the same dev? Because I believe the dad was also Franco Morgan... Is the friend at safehouse an indian?
I recall that the html game was already nice, if it's a rework for Ren'Py or based on the original game I'm looking forward to it.
Hi there! This is, in fact, the SAME GAME! The game's first update was made in Twine as an HTML game, but for Update 2, all of the Twine/text-based parts were imported into Ren'Py, so that the full, complete story is in Ren'Py, as well as going forward. I hope you enjoy Update 2!
I have to agree, what the fuck? There is an explanation later, but it feels a bit unrealistic.
That said, I really, REALLY hope the father gets what's coming to him. Don't know how dark this is gonna get, but he should suffer. Like get crippled or something. He's literally pure evil.
Edit: Oh and yeah, the rest is pretty wholesome. And Abigail is SO cute!
Abigail is certainly the best and the crowd favorite. Best sister. As far as the police thing, as someone who spent my entire life around familial abuse, you might be surprised how few times police get involved in such situations. That said, there are certainly some elements to the story where I'm really asking the reader to just come along for the ride rather than overanalyze what's happening. Sorry about that!
EDIT: Also this VN could use a text box transparency option, the default textbox covers up too much imo.
I use a personal renpy mod for it, but for others that don't like to use mods, it might be a good option to consider.
Very sorry there's not already one, I truthfully do not know enough about Ren'Py at the time to have done it myself, but something I'll look into for Update 3.
It switches to renpy. Honestly i skipped a lot of the dialogue in the first part. It's just too much and i got the gist of it. Dad's a big deal wrestler, Dad's a dick, Mom's hurt and traumatized, Kids run but don't report the crime cause mom wouldn't want it, They find a new wrestling league and mom gets better. Son is fucking around with mom (a little), Dad's still a dick but this time to older brother. Insert Renpy. Honestly, Dev should write up a short summary and give you the option to read that rather than play the text based portion in his intro. I know Dev put a lot of work into writing that, but it's gonna put a lot of people off his game before it even gets to the portion that's a game rather than a book.
There actually used to be a "Read a recap of Update 1" rather than replay the whole thing, and I talked to members of my Discord about it, and it was literally unanimous to just remove the recap and have everyone start anew lol. I did put a lot of work into this story and I know there's a lot of reading at the beginning, but stick with this story and it will pay off
I've also gone on record (even in this very thread), saying that I originally did NOT want to import all of the text-based update 1 into Ren'Py, but at the time, practically everyone involved in the discussion was saying how I definitely should. So I listened to all the people asking for it, and I did! But it seems I can't win with everyone though

The "possible" tags are just that: random ideas I have floating in my mind that may or may not (most likely never will, but still possible) make it into the game. However, rest assured there will NEVER be any kind of grind or any such thing. I really want to overhaul my "Genre" section to include things such as "current tags that directly affect the MC/LI's". Perhaps I'll work on that today! EDIT: I have completed this so please check the "Genre" section again now for more information!
As far as the "Monster" tag, this is currently related to (minor spoilers): hallucinations relating to mental stress and psychological horror

Hey, thank you friend. I'm very relieved you like the story, as obviously the story is what's most important to me. I'm trying my best with the renders!
* * *
Anyway, thanks for all the comments! How are you guys liking Update 2? Did anyone find Update 2's secret ending?
I look forward to trying this so I can give some constructive feedback in the future but for now I just gotta say having read Beerus the riot act about 9 months ago regarding his plan to continue the game in Renpy without converting the content of the initial release I'm please to see what I said sunk in. Congrats Beerus, this is not halfassing it.

Hey, good to see you again! You're right, the feedback from you (and the others at the time) got me to change my mind about putting all of Update 1 into Ren'Py for the full experience (which some are now criticizing me for doing lol).
In hindsight, this was absolutely the right call and I'm very thankful you and the others convinced me of it. I was absolutely wrong about it and I apologize. I hope you enjoy the game whenever you get the chance to play! Thanks again!

Thanks for clarifying! I appreciate the update to the genre section.
The reason I asked is, first, I really don’t like sandbox and other branching tags (like those in your 'Possible' section), so I wanted to confirm before playing. Second, I (and many others) use exclude tags to filter out things we don’t want in our games. Since 'Sandbox' and other tags in the 'Possible' section are on my exclude list, if you ever add them in the future, the game will automatically disappear from my updates and searches. Even if I don’t manually ignore it, F95Zone will still hide it from me. That’s just how the exclude tags work, and it aligns with my preferences.
You also mentioned that there will never be any kind of grinding, which I appreciate. However, genres like 'Puzzle, RPG, Sandbox, and Turn-Based Combat' often come with mechanics that naturally involve some level of repetition or progression-based gameplay. Whether they will fit into your VN without feeling like grind-heavy features is something only time will tell.
Since this is not 100% confirmed yet, I’ll wait and see how things develop. Wishing you the best with the project!

I'll talk about why those tags are even in the "Possible" section, and how I really should just remove them. The original vision of Wrestling Dynasty was to be a text-based RPG, complete with stats, skills, perks, experience, turn based combat for the wrestling matches, etc. Then after Update 1 came out, obviously all my plans have now changed lol.
Tags like "Puzzle, RPG, Sandbox, Turn-Based Combat" used to be in the "Planned" tags because that was the direction I was going, but after enough feedback (specifically changing to Ren'Py), I moved those tags from "Planned" to "Possible" almost just out of pure stubbornness lol.
All in all, while I still don't want to say "0% chance" those tags will appear, it's likely 1% at this point lol. So much so that after hearing this from you, and wondering how many share the same or similar opinions as you (especially about the game potentially becoming auto-hidden), I'm actually going to remove these tags altogether from the "Possible" section.
Even as something simple like this, thank you very much already for the feedback on this!

I really appreciate the explanation! It makes sense that those tags were from the game's original vision, and I totally understand how plans evolve over time. However, I want to clarify that you don’t need to change anything just for my sake—this is your game, and you should decide what fits your vision best.
The reason I personally dislike sandbox and similar mechanics is based on experience. A lot of them tend to involve excessive grinding, repetitive tasks, and clicking through slightly altered dialogue day after day just to progress. That’s why I avoid them, but I know that many players enjoy those elements too.
So please don’t feel the need to change things just because of my preferences. Ultimately, you should create the game the way you truly want to. Thanks again for the open discussion, and I’ll be keeping an eye on the project’s progress!

IMHO the dev should just write a romance novel e-book instead.
RenPy textboxes are simply unsuitable for this much text; even when the game can display like 20 textboxes per second while skipping, the game still takes like 5 minutes to complete. That would be like what, left-clicking 6000 times? Just for the first chapter?
And having the static busts in the background with no relation to the written scene is simply distracting.
After finishing the first three chapters (which are the original text-based content, so there are only a few renders), there's no denying that the quality of this game is very good, albeit too good for my own sake. The depiction of domestic abuse and the portrait of MC's father as the authoritarian control freak of the family are very spot-on. People say it isn't realistic as to why they didn't call the cops, but in reality, victims of domestic abuse, through years of gaslighting, are mentally discouraged to report in fear of "breaking up the family", and also in this special case, MC's father is a powerful figure who has certain influence at least in his region, so I won't be surprised that police won't do shit. That said, because of all these realistic depictions, this game is quite mentally challenging, especially if you have similar experiences of abuse. Also, I'm a bit mixed on the addition of the older brother as the bootlicker. For one thing, having another male family member in an incest-harem game is quite rare and unique, but on the other hand, it also means the level of tension gets doubled, especially when the story about domestic abuse hits too close to home, having not one but two antagonistic males tailing you constantly can be a bit exhausting (in fact, when I finished the end of chap.3 and the start of chap.4 and saw these two immediately found out about MC's new phone number I was like "no this is a bit too stressful I'm out." It's still a very decent game, but it does require a little bit of brave heart (or maybe detachment from the story?) to enjoy it through.
The game is clearly not for you, and that's okay. Many people enjoy the story and the characters beyond "me need pretty girl to look at, me horny". If you are not one of them, please go to a thread that caters to what you like

Hi there and thank you for writing all this. I do know that this game is very heavy on trauma, domestic abuse, healing, etc, and so while you say it's too intense for you to play, it's still immensely rewarding to me to hear that it's because the story is too realistic to you (for an AVN anyway) rather than "I stopped playing because it's bad." These topics are very important to me because I've spent my life from birth up until the age of 26 being abused by family.
As for what you said about the new phone number and thus you quit, I'll say that opening scene in Chapter 4 is (spoilers): a nightmare, as the MC breaks his phone multiple times after getting those calls and the phone keeps reappearing and calling him again, before things progress and finally the MC wakes up.
Though I'll also say that there are some immensely heavy psychological/trauma scenes in Update 2 (after the opening Chapter 4 scene that you mentioned), far more than anything in Chapters 1-3, so it might be better for you to not play if it's already too stressful for you.
In any case, thank you again for this very unique point of view and opinion. It truly means a lot to me, even if you don't play the game anymore because of it.

Thank you for your response, Beerus! My sympathy and empathy go out to you as I've also lived through the shadow of my abusive father (not as harsh as Franco, but still, physical abuse until adolescence and psychological abuse even today from time to time), so the story resonates with me greatly even though it means being reminded of traumatic memories. I wish you all the best and future success in the game, and I'll still follow the game and may even continue playing it when my emotions aren't all over the place lol.
Hey dev, I’m happy the tag's got removed! But I just wanted to clarify that my question wasn’t meant to push for any changes—I was just trying to understand what was actually planned. If you were already considering removing those tags, then that makes sense, but I hope you didn’t feel like you had to change anything just because I asked.
Honestly, when I saw the tags were removed right after our conversation, it made me wonder if my question influenced the decision. That wasn’t my intention at all. I just wanted to be sure what to expect before following the project. Either way, I really appreciate the open discussion and the effort you put into keeping things clear for players!

I really appreciate it, thank you. And same goes to you as well, brother. If you ever come back to Wrestling Dynasty, make sure to let me know how you find it. Otherwise, you're always welcome to join our Discord if you want a place to talk. Otherwise, take care of yourself!

I understand your concern but I assure you that these tags were truly just hanging on by a thread at this point (and have been since last July lol), and your comments, while they did influence me technically, really just made me realize that it was finally time I removed them and put that whole thing to rest, so to speak lol. I can be rather stubborn at times but I can also admit when I'm wrong, and it was certainly time to just delete those tags lol. The tags were on life support and I was kind of just looking for a reason to finally remove them, so thank you for that!
If this is a slow burn, then how come the main LIs are already head over heels for the MC? I feel like i missed something, apart from potential erotic scenes, I'm talking specifically about the emotional side of things.
Anyway, good game overall. Keep it up, Beerus!
