First of all just want to call you out again for your lie that people here are being mean about BDs family. There is none of this happening, so stop pretending he's a victim.

Secondly, if your argument is that you're not allowed an opinion unless you are a paying sub to BD.... what are you doing here? 99% of the people on f95 don't pay, its literally a pirate forum. You're really gonna say that because we don't pay we should shut up and not talk? Lol. If you're so anti piracy then leave man.

The trouble being you assume everyone on here is a pirate plenty on here subscribe to games. Sites like these provide free advertising to the games which result in them gaining patrons making players eager for the next update. You also realise that some people on here have been booted from BD's patrons page due to voicing their opinion and can only speak their mind here. Not saying BD hasn't had a rough time but he pulls in more money in a month compared to other VN's who are showing results. Like it was commented on this forum earlier when one of BD's fans compared it to Artemis,LOF,BAD and Eternum amongst a few.
Drifty has been through a rough patch but is getting through it his game is more complex than WVM he even spent 2 months of his patron fee to keep the music in the game and it's nearly ready. Artemis dig.b has done a good job with that game but still managed to rework some of it same issues with soundtracks even hired a composer to score some of them but has managed to hit nearly 3k renders since January. BAD we had the interlude to keep us busy but the next update is going to be a massive one but still has issues like others due to it being on steam. Eternum again another game that is making good progress with a good storyline.

Point being if his patrons can't complain which just results in them being kicked from his patron/subscribe star they will take to the forums wherever they are to voice their opinion. You can't blame them it was the end of last year before they had any real update compare it to BAD/Artemis which were released round the same time as that update and are heading for their next release within the next 3 months. They have been kept updated by the dev's which is why you don't see bitching on there just game talk and eagerness for the update's to drop. Compare dev's who care about their subscribers to BD you'll see the difference he's getting far more money than others but doesn't have to deal with music,mini games,constant in game choices ect ect so what is all that money going to if it's just renders and animations when others spend to keep the game as they want it.

If he really cared about it like he said he would have hired help like others have he's earning more than others to easily achieve it but that alone proves a point he doesn't want to press further with the game it seems milking even more

Well i was a pantreon from the very first day on since the first version came out until this year in february.
I postet on pantreon at that time that i want more regular updates again and not updates every now and then.

5 minutes later my post was deleted,and i asked what the fuck that was,and guess what i was banned.

Yeah that's what he told a lot of us. Apparently we were over critical of him and it stressed him out. He said that people were extremely mean to him on Patreon and Discord so he is going to hire someone to manage things. He also says that this is just a hobby which is a bunch of horse shit.

Unfortunately nothing is really going to change. The number of patrons has gone up not down. The end of June I believe it was around 3500. It went down to around 3000 at the start of July. There is always some fall off at the start of every month, but that seemed like a decent drop. However July hasn't ended yet and it's back up over 3600.

It's not my money and everyone can do with their own money whatever they like, but I don't believe any real change will happen without support dropping off to the point where BD has to start worrying. That hasn't happened yet and doesn't seem likely to happen anytime soon. Really like the game and would love to see it getting back on track, but as long as the money is flowing in without BD having to produce anything other than excuses, nothing is likely to change.

As someone mildly interested in this game, I'm dissapointed to see that this dev went the Icstor route. I did check on his posts from time to time in the last 2 years and while he seemed a nice enough guy, it's sad to see that the success went to his head.
He used to have a solid work ethic but now, it's just excuses and empty promises.

I get it, in a way, with him getting married and having a baby. A baby is a game changer and in the first few years, an absorbing pit of money and attention. The decent thing to do would have been for him to put this game on hold and figure things out in his personal life and maybe, just maybe, work on the game when he had the time, which would be very little. Instead, he preferred to lie to his fans, deliver some half assed update and call it a day.

There might be people who will say that I'm blaming his family or some other stuff like that. No, I am not doing that. What I am trying to do is to explain a few things, that I interpreted from what people are saying and my (admittedly little) knowledge that I have of the dev. I actually wish him all the best when it comes to his personal life.

For those of you defending him, I have to ask, why are you doing this? Has he not had missed deadlines before? Did he not make promises that he has continuously broken? Did he not say that he will release one update of 300 renders and shortly after, another one of 400 renders?

I actually have a suggestion for you. Instead of trusting blindly, try to doubt him a little. You'll see that you can find out more about someone that way. Try to ask him, on patreon or discord why he is having such a hard time delivering a product that he has continuously said is almost ready and see how he reacts to your question. And if you are afraid that you're going to lose his friendship, remember that your life was fine before knowing him. It can only get better if you remove a toxic friendship.

Later after yet another delay I voiced my opinion on how badly his money management is if he can't afford to suspend pledges for a month and should get a professional to help him as well as possibly hiring outside help even if just to render the stuff he has made since he does not want to give up creative control. This got removed, no foul language the worst was my doubt as to his constant excuses.

He needs help but refuses it or at least that is what it seems, it is possible he is just taking this for a ride as long as he can too at this point.

Here is the (un)funny truth. This game about basketball and we haven't seen a single basketball game yet. In a 3 year period we're still at early chapters on story according to dev. Plot is not moving, game not getting updated. But still people praises him. I just can't make any sense any of this.

Lets compare him with another dev;

For example there is a game called Nursing Back to Pleasure by Daniels K. Almost in a year (13 months) he completed his game. He already completed 9 other games. He's got only 1.3k patreon.

Comparing to BD this guys deserves at least 10k+ patreon.
