" part of the whole creative process is spending all day working on something and to go to bed loving it... just to wake up the next day and not like it and then you have to make changes. " then " I'm not in panic mode, I'm not in perfectionist mode, I'm just trying to do what is right for the game" Oooookay. Somehow this doesn't add up for me.

I think he finally said something true.
Except there was no mention of watching football or playing video games (other than WMV). I'm sure part of the reason for the delay is what he said, but also what he's said previously: it's football season and a bunch of games have dropped in the last two months.

The comment about him not having any play-testers surprised me though. What dev after 3 years of development thinks that is still a good idea?

The one that wants nobody to be able to definitively call him out on his BS. All we have to go on is what he says and what he shows. If he says "It's almost done" there's nobody that can look over his shoulder and say "No it fucking isn't."

Though, we all still call him out on it. It's just different if he thinks he has some plausible deniability. (perhaps not the right term, but I'm sure you all understand what I mean.)

Hmm, I cannot swear to this. But I thought he had testers. Discord talks about it. I will have to ask and take a look around. You would think there would be a lot more errors if there were no objective testing. Although, the content is pretty linear so far. You meet a girl. Have sex, yes or no? Next.

i haven't really said much in this thread, since he refunded me a decent amount of $ for the months i spent at an all-star(?) tier, with no updates (during the great BD content purge of 2020/21?) and i WILL respect him for that. definitely appreciate it.

but that respect only goes so far. to see him "relapse" like this, is just.. i dunno. expected? sad? comical? not sure.

"
If you're wondering what the hold up is,
It's pretty simple. I'm the sole developer of WVM and at this moment in time I don't utilize playtesters or proofreaders.
The reason being is that part of my development process in finalizing an update is playing and replaying the update over and over again to make sure things play out as I want them to.
"
" (It's also why I have a history of staying up for 3 days at a time when releasing updates.)
"

statements like these, are what cause the loss of respect.
these so called "delays" can be easily mitigated by playtesters/proofreaders
and the "staying up for 3 days at a time" is just him victimizing himself in an attempt to keep his support

you can only cry wolf so many times. but with BD, his cultists are so insanely braindead, that he will keep his following.

i really bit my tongue for a long time. but i can't sit here idly and watch him lie through his teeth/make BS excuses (as usual) even if my wrong was righted.

edit: we conversed in May, when I was refunded. and i believe, i haven't really said much, if ANYTHING in this thread since then. but this was one of my first AVN, which i thoroughly enjoyed (back a few years ago when quality was good, and updates were respectable) so i will come back to it, to see if it ever does see completion, or if it ends up being an ICSTOR project (most likely, i mean it's basically there)

this kind of shooting himself in the foot is just stupid. I'm Kthulian's sole proof reader on Ataegina but Ace also brought me in to help QC/Proof for Where the Heart Is (which has a group of people helping). If he can't bring himself to take even a single person's help, then he has no one to blame for himself. I don't even ask for any money or anything when I help, Kthulian occasionally gives me some money into my Steam Wallet once a year or so. It can't be that hard to find cheap help that are just dedicated to the project.

I'm amused to see the number of people who complain about the developer's work but who continue to wait for the game to be updated. Gentlemen, if you find so many faults with its work, simply stop playing it and wait for updates.
If people aren't complaining about one thing, it's another. Just how some people are. I agree with you.

Is this gonna be one of those games where the pregnancy tags means a couple of scenes at the end or will the game actually have a lot of pregnancy content throughout the story?
