Although I understand your comment, I believe that the game has been taking this dark direction for a long time (the problem is that by waiting for so many updates, we've lost track of the real size of the story at the moment). If you stop to think about it, only the beginning of the game was really light, since that alley in the first game, he has always been deepening this pothole. But it's not like this is something new, he's just explaining the lore, things that had already happened a long time ago. I believe that when this whole explanation is over, the game will go back to being more like it was. Otherwise, maybe I'll start to worry, like you.

Exactly, MCs dad was always an asshole and MC was always a victim of kidnapping, just because we're seeing the details now doesnt mean they werent always present.
This game has gone so off the rails that even trying to play the game from any point gives me a massive headache from how idiotic Braindead has made this game. At this point there's no actual story other than either a click to fuck game and a half assed story that can be easily torn apart by mini scissors with how dumb the whole stuff is.
What next, we come back from the "vacation" to find all of the students have turned from being braindead to literal zombies and Basketball is a forgotten sport?

The alley stuff wasnt as dark and could be justified as plot. But this whole drugs, abuse, violent past goes a bit too much past my confort zone
And yeah, i hope it just belongs to the flashbacks and ends there, even when the flashbacks have been quite long already. Hopefully the game goes back to what we loved and what made it big in the first place

Yep. And let's not forget Cedar's backstory, the nightmares and sleepwalking, and the reintroduced memories, either. Amongst other things. The deep and dark background has always been there, and it's well woven into the story, particularly in terms of why MC became the kind of man he is, despite the repressed memories. As someone else pointed out, I think the long update cycles are factor, here. With a fairly deep and involved story, it's easy to forget a lot of it after waiting a year for a small and often broken update. Especially after not delving into the deeper story in awhile and keeping everything lighter and shallower in recent (I use that term relatively) updates before this one.
Not gonna get into the whole BD-bashing thing, but yeah...I do really hope that this is eventually finished, though, because despite the flaws, and the whole thing with BD and his less than stellar record, I really do enjoy this game, and I totally understand MC and his mentality and character. It's one that I can identify with, especially the whole "White Knight" or "Protector" angle, and the hidden scars of past trauma. Certainly, he's more likeable and relatable than the total creep MCs of many other AVNs/games.

I dont disagree, but its weird when he starts choking out a girl he met for 5 minutes a few hours ago during sex in this update.

Still a better love story than Twilight. (Disclaimer: I never watched Twilight.)The MC is going full Bobby Brown. He'll be smoking crack and smacking around his harem. Ends up breaking his hand on one of their duck bills. The dream is gone, now homeless he and his harem begin the search for the world's largest cardboard box. Really takes a left turn on you. I'd stop following now.
The game can be mixed at times, I definitely noticed a downgrade in dialog writing around season 2 I think it was, but I still like it. And it is not like there's a whole lot of similar games regarding the erotic plot. I kinda need it as sort of a wholesome pole (heh) to lift me up, especially after indulging in the more darker stuff.
shit im going to say it,....storywise this show have more plot than dpc adik ,sorry guys but im taking a side her,not bcs bd deserves shit,but i really believe that being a dik plot wise doenst do anything for me,...no mistery behind,no further plot on anything just fucking girls ,being a cheater or not,but nothing else....now in the quality part is like this is at infancy and dik is the after college person,..,.i know dpc put so much effort and work in the novel but my problem is the lack of an harem path ,the lack of a story plot,and the douchebag of mc we got ,and ofc the almost ayear ,a year or more than a year between updates,and like i say so mnay times i dont care if it comes with 5k renders,isnt working for me,...and that bcs the lack of the harem comes with so much paths open that is impossible to someone who doesnt have a big development team to work in all the girls under less time,.....before someone tells me to go off bcs this fucker dont even not do that ,i know and bcs of that i put them in the same position in my list ,...one bcs it dev sucks the other bcs no harem sucks,....but thats for me
