Dev Report #47

April 10, 2025

Hey everyone,
It's been a while since I’ve given a proper dev update, and I owe you all a bit of an explanation. I know things have been rocky, and I’m sure many of you are eager for the next steps with WVM. So, let's dive into the good, the bad, and the not-so-pretty parts of the journey ahead.

Where Things Stand

I’ve been deep in the weeds with E13 and E14, and as always, the project has grown more complicated than I anticipated. While I’ve made a lot of changes (some good, some... let’s just say, experimental), I’ve come to a point where I need to reassess the direction I’m taking with WVM.

E13 is nearly finished, but it’s been a tough one. A lot of unexpected challenges came up, both personal and technical. I know the pacing’s been an issue. The story has felt sluggish at times, and I’ve leaned too much into the side characters and, honestly, the sex scenes. That wasn’t the initial plan, and it’s something I deeply regret. The result? A very bloated update, a lot of wasted potential, and a game that feels like it lost its soul.

But here's the thing: I’m committed to finishing E13 and getting it out to you, warts and all. No more delay tactics, no more waiting for "perfect." This update is imperfect, but it’ll get done. That’s the promise.

What’s Coming Next

Once E13 drops, I’m shifting my focus to E14. It’s not going to be a perfect fix-all, but it's a return to the core of what made WVM a story people cared about. More basketball. More character development. Less filler.

I’m excited about E14, mainly because it feels like a fresh start. The ideas are coming together in a way that feels true to the game’s roots. But before I get too far ahead of myself, I still need to tie up the loose ends with E13. So, here's what you can expect from the next couple of weeks:

  • E13 will be released in chunks. Yes, I know it's a bit of a weird approach, but it’s the easiest way to get things out there without feeling completely overwhelmed.
  • E14 will follow soon after, but I’m not rushing this one. I want to do it justice.
The Road Ahead

I’ve been pretty down on myself lately about how WVM has turned out. There’s no denying it—I’ve missed deadlines, struggled with motivation, and added unnecessary filler. It’s easy to lose sight of why I started this in the first place. But the one thing I keep coming back to is this: WVM still has a lot of potential. It’s not over, and I’m not giving up on it. I owe it to you all to see this through.

Thank you for your continued support. Seriously. I can’t even begin to explain how much it means to me, especially with all the chaos behind the scenes. There’s more coming, I promise. I just need to clear some mental blocks and get back on track.

Stay tuned for more updates soon,
Love,
Braindrop

I mean, that's pretty fucking spot-on lol.

Edit: Damn, I think I even managed to turn ChatGPT against BD.

This guy has his nose so far up bd ass I don't know how he breathes. To defend a pathological liar with so much passion is far beyond delusional. He has to be suffering from SBS(smooth brain syndrome). :KEK: :KEK:

There are a few like that on discord, "Azel Virginity" is another that comes to mind.

I'm guessing they are just BD alt-posting to try and keep morale high. Anyone claiming this game is a "one of the best VNs" and not just another dime-a-dozen "gotta fuck 'em all", clearly hasn't played many or has something wrong upstairs.

That's hilarious, please post the second part in the discord, I beg you. That an AI can figure out that brainfart is nothing more than a grifter while thousands of real humans are still completely delusional says a lot about the average intelligence level of these cultists.

Fuck it. I'm bored and just high enough to think this is a good idea at the moment.

Lets start taking bets on the new wave of excuses that will come with the release of episode 14. I mean he can't keep blaming packaging. I am putting my money on a new wave of computer issues and a loss of data that will have to make him start episode 14 from scratch.

Woah, hold your horses there, champ. We still gotta get E13 out the door before we start speculating about E14 excuses. :LOL:

lol be prepared for the wrath of Morbil :eek::eek:
Meh, not too worried about Frog Boy. I've already got my breading station setup to fry his ass.

Well currently I'm sure he's gonna throw out a big pity one to lessen the heat from vanishing for a week now. So something like a major computer problem that sets him back,a hospital visit or death of someone. Otherwise there's no excuse for ghosting,this way people don't catch on to how big a piece of shit he is. Instead get pity me apology

Mother fucker deleted my post. :cry:
Sad. That's literally the only way for discord members to entertain themselves there since you can't discuss an update that gets delayed until the start of a new billing cycle each time.

I hope BD at least has some common courtesy to get Morbil a towel to clean himself after getting a gummer from him.

I've gone past the stage of trying to understand, then past the stage of getting mad at him, then even past the stage of making jokes... TODAY, I've honestly accepted that we're facing a high risk of this project being abandoned. If I had to bet, I'd divide it up like this:

- 52.8% chance: he'll simply abandon the project and disappear, without any justification;

- 40.3% chance: he'll announce that he's given up and/or will take a long hiatus (whatever the argument, I don't care, because he's a liar);

- 6.4% chance that he'll (TRY) to continue as he is, extending deadlines, saying that it's ready while he's still working, always delaying, making excuses as much as he can, releasing very little from time to time... BUT, it's unlikely that this will last, because the vast majority of funders have already lost patience (even old cultists are already giving up);

- 0.5% chance: he will act like a professional, like an adult, be responsible, be honest, deliver the project regularly as he did in the beginning (less talk, more work).
