All of the above, plus it is the Holidays, so only extremely dedicated, hard working devs are dropping releases this time of year (so no WMV). The best we can hope for is some creative (and hopefully innovative) excuses, since BD has been recycling his tales of woe lately. Around March, when BD typically comes out of hibernation, we might see a release.

Hey, even if you doubt it, there was a time when BrainDrop was just as diligent or more so than Moonbox... Then came the dark age, two years of silence, and everything in BD changed.
Very true. Early BD (2019) was a really amazing worker. It was great when he was so enthusiastic about the game. But sadly that is now so long ago...and now his "passion" is putting out (increasingly less) creative excuses for each new delay.Hey, even if you doubt it, there was a time when BrainDrop was just as diligent or more so than Moonbox... Sadly it's not just the work output drop, but the duckification of the female love interests, story drift and endless new, bland characters that really mark the decline of this VN imho. If the WMV was still really promising like in 2019 (and some of 2020), the delays would bit a lot more frustrating. But now, I enjoy BD's excuse drops a lot more than the game. Plus, they're more reliable.
It's been suggested many, many times over the last several years. And some will say he did hire two people to help out: Mackenzie and Dingleberry (close enough). Some have suggested that BD is no longer the one making the game, that he likely sold it to someone and that is why there is such a drastic change in the character design, story, etc.
But the simple most likely thing is that he either doesn't trust others with his "baby", or more likely doesn't want to share the revenue with others. Honestly why would he? The money has kept rolling in for years whether he puts out updates or not.
again my theory [was]and still is that,there were ateam of 2 bd and his long time friend[deceased]and the better of the 2 pass away,....r.i.p ...we got the uncool one,the lazy one,the one without ethics,,......this one is another kind of person,like totally 2 worlds aprt from that bd from 2019 before the virus,.
sadly you can see in his behaviour changes,his demeanour,how he trat the patrons,how he can manage to make good ppl feel remorse about standing up fro him,...
is that or he have multiple personalities,mackensie,dyonyx,morbil?.....
is so dumb what he is doing that,even if he wants and give an update once a year like many other gameshe could do without noneone ask shit,....[ofc his updates arent 5k renders ]but still ppl will not complain about 1200 renders,...but theguys dont do even that,prefer to lie,to scam,to critize others,and spit put delay after delay,.....
lets be honest here,why he change the days count? isnt bcs what he says.....is bcs ppl totally unsubscribe if he didnt changed that,what almost 6 years for a 13 ingame days???? think about it....now he have like 45 ....still nothing out of the world .....6 fucking years ,....well almost...

I think BD is actually at a Psychiatric hospital chained to bed and Borpa-MC(s)(and other aliases) being managed by a supervisor(s) and we are the npc's in this game like "Truman Show" to being moral support for this madness. Because I can't make any more logical expression about this Developer(once upon a time) to deliberatly being lazy. No sane person can be this dull.
