Well you're not even aiming high at all when comparing to most games, when there is so much RPGM slop, to begin with. However if you actually compare WVM to other games from his and superior tiers ranks .... aka 4 star rated and above.. it's hardly the best out there... and even less worth the wait. Obviously it would still rank fine, but hardly the "highest quality" in visuals today.

I'm sure it was, back in the day, at first. And it pretty much was the excuse and coping mechanism for some of the other truly mediocre aspects of the game, then the pace of releases, at some point. But today ? No way

Of course I'm not aiming high. We're talking about porn games. The vast majority aren't worth playing and have renders that make Cruelty Squad look pleasant by comparison. The only reason to play this one is the renders and models. The other aspects are actual shit. The writing pretty much enters The Room territory of so bad it's good. The MC is the biggest Mary Sue in the universe and his harem of literally every woman under 40 in a 500 mile radius are so poorly written it's not believable that BD is actually married to a real woman.

I don't wait for updates for this game, haven't for I don't even know how many years. Whenever I see it pop up in the updates, it's like a neat little surprise and I just hope there's a scene good enough to cream to.

Obviously the early renders are pretty bad, if I remember right. Renders in later updates are far better now. Like, you can just hate the game, but objectively, at least it looks like the renders in these later updates actually have decent lighting and posing, a standard that most porn games just don't meet. I'm sure he could do better. I literally never said he was perfect and yeah, I'd love it if better VNs got the funding BD gets. I could probably name twenty or thirty other games that deserve to have his level of success that don't even reach half of it.

Yeah, if you're looking for a good story, you won't find it here. The writing is garbage. I play plenty of other games that have good writing, but sometimes I just want to beat off to good images, and so far this is one of the few games with high quality group scenes. Even VNs with far superior quality renders seem to be incredibly tepid about having more than three girls involved in a sex scene.

I don't know why my incredibly lukewarm take on a porn game is so offensive, but I assure you, I don't consider this to be one of the best games out there. I just said that it has some of the highest quality renders out there, which it just does compared to the slop we're drowning in.

I had to do a complete replay since my saves weren't working with the Jasmine update. It was startling how Alexis looked in that day 1 scene. I don't hold that against BD. It seems to be pretty common in AVNs that the dev's skills in using Daz/Blender/whatever improves over time. I hate when I see a dev saying they are going back and redoing all their early renders when it takes away from progress on new updates, but I understand looking at your old work and cringing at how it looks compared to your current ability.

Obviously i addressed the slop. However i also mentioned in broad strokes the highest rated tiers and titles, and in comparison to those, nope WVM ain't that great looking in my opinion. Even within porn games , there is just better visually. And surprisingly that's still many titles. I mostly stayed on the topics of aesthetics and renders in that post for a reason. I'm not accusing you of hyping the game, i know your argument stuck to the renders aspects as well. Hell, If i agreed with your argument, that it's some stellar looking porn game ... everything else could even be overlooked... but it's not. It's serviceable at best.. which is fine if that's what someone is looking for. Let's just not try to pass it as gourmet stuff, even when solely discussing the visuals.

It also includes the rest of the Dahlia scene that was cut from two updates ago, which has a fair bit of dialogue. It is definitely not a large update, but it is significantly longer than the five minutes some people were claiming.

Yeah, reviews here aren't going to drop his patronage, and at the end of the day, why change if the cash is still rolling in.

It definitely will not drop the current numbers, but it can potentially decrease them that even if out of 10 people, who want to support him, 1 or 2 do not, then it decreased. Basically it can negatively affect the potential support.

Now will it actually do that? That is another story entirely, that we cannot know.

That is just a level of retcon I don't want to even consider. MC needs to get home, then wake up and discover that whole scene was some bizarre dream/nightmare.

Other option: someone tossed out a theory a couple weeks ago that there has been more than one BD. 1st 9 days written by OG, and then taken over by someone else who pitched the rewrite of the entire story. For reasons, I'm more willing to accept that as possible now, explaining the complete lack of cohesion between the two halves of the game.

Well since he hasn't done it before , i doubt he will change now...The whole point of Azel kissing MC on the lips is stupid and annoying and personally i never really understood why he add it to his game when he is not a fan of that....

I wasn't in this thread until recently, so I know very little of what the rework was supposed to include, but the "story" is so broken at this point I don't know why BD bothered. And honestly, if it is a different person role-playing as BD, they should have just done a second AVN for this twisted mess that unfurled in that hotel room.

The best outcome? At the end of the game you see the MC in the hospital dying. Turns out that the blows in the bowling alley were lethal and everything that happened was just a fantasy due to his severe head trauma

One of the big goals of the remake was to allow you to pursue the girls only available on the cheating path (Alexis, Rachael's Clients, etc) without being a cheating douche, which really doesn't fit with the super good guy persona the MC has later in the story.

There's another line that talks about MC seeing Rachael occasionaly, while Azel works for her, but in the original version he had never met her before picking Azel up from work at the start. I assume these things are being changed in the rework so that MC knows them already, and isn't telling his girlfriend he loves her, then immediately banging two women he just met, or in Alexis's case didn't remember.

It actually tracks as making sense, if Grandma is controlling it due to grandpa passing, and dad being a habitual drug addicted abuser. Dad wouldn't of been stable enough, or trustworthy enough to run stuff. My guess is this club would still be seeking out the proper male heir to run the show with likely a half sister, or an aunt at the lead temporarily (just a guess, and had to fill in a ton of blanks with assumptions). Since we know 0 about the structure, I'm just assuming they want the male family member at the head of it due to tradition or whatever, and women are typically support to the head. My assumption is that Grandma and whomever else were at the head, didn't want to do it, but had to out of necessity.

This is all under the assumption that BD is going to use the obvious plot points I put above, or if he is going to try and 5D chess his way through mental gymnastics to pull something else off.
