So I started the day with this question. Ok we need a question of the day again. Does anyone else think there is some sort of real relationship (No adoptive but more of a blood thing) between either Azel and Wendy or Azel and the MC father?

Now the more I think about that and after reading your responses I am more curious on why the MC name was changed from Jacob to Ethan. Also how did Wendy find him as well. So many questions from this now, I can't wait until we actually get to meet Wendy in game and have a real conversation with her and Azel as well. Oh the things to look forward in this awesome game. It really is inspiring me to start writing again.

I think that Azel was friends with both MC's mom and dad. She was closer to Mom especially after she came over to Azels one day while dad was out at work and she broke down and showed Azel all her bruises from where the dad got overly violent but not enough to kill her obviously. But it was at this moment where Azel found out that MC's Dad while he was a good man and good dad but he had his demons. It was also at this moment where Azel dipped her toes into the Girl on Girl Pool. Mom ended up having an affair with Azel. Which is why Azel adopted MC After dads death and why she still kept in touch with Mom after all these years. Its also why she allowed the visits. Azel also knew that Mom was not in the best place to raise both kids cause maybe MC Looked like the Abusive dad and thats why Mom never Tried to get MC Back but still wanted to be a part of MCs life.

Dont matter though she took MC in and loved him through the years and maybe she has withheld some bits of truth here and there but i dont think she flat out lied to MC. I love her to bits still and hope for something more with her later ( or at the end with a patch ) Cause i was head over heels the first time i seen her

Interesting theory, would make for a worthy story.
My only beef with it is the "I do not know about a sister, I would not lie to you about it" part. Does not fit... imo.

First off welcome back you missed a lot. Glad to hear you are doing at least a little better and good enough to come say hi.

I am not sure the actual laws on this but I have a feeling there is more to the story that will explain things in the future as well. Also I am not worried about accuracy for legal purposes for this, but maybe there is something to it. Maybe it was in the MC father's will, maybe the adoption was not 100% legal, maybe Wendy didn't want to take him back after giving up Cedar. Who knows there could be a bunch of possibilities and hopefully we learn some more in a future update.

It's kind of muddy to be honest and varies by state. From what I have found with a bit of arcane googlery is that only one parents consent is required if the other parent is deemed unift for any reason. All indications are that Wendy gave Cedey up for adoption on grounds she felt she was unfit to raise her so she would be on record as an unfit parent. Which would allow his dad to transfer custody to Azel alone.

I can tell about one aspect of it, but that would be a baby/unborn.
A birth mother can decide to give away the child/allow adoption if she cannot take care of the baby.
She will contact a accredited agency. From them she will get portfolios of "parents in waiting", screened, tested, weighed and measured, willing to adopt. She can opt to choose the adoptive parents, make sure she has a good feeling about them.
When agreed adoptive parents will take care about medical bills and birth costs. After the meds are out of the birth mothers system ( 72 hours after birth ) she will sign the child up to adoption and kind of a pre adotion foster care at adoptive parents. All handled by agency, social workers, lawyers and in court.
After 6 months, visits by social workers at foster/adoptive parents, other hoops to jump, the adoption is finalized by a court, a new birth certificate is made ( Adoptive parents named as parents in there ), the case is sealed and only the adopted child can have it opened at 18/21yrs.

With a "older" child I am not sure. Court would at least have tried to find the birth mother. If not found and no legal ties to Azel I am not sure if she would have gotten custody and after the search for birth mother, would have been able to go through the adoption.

Maybe if she was MCs "godmother"?

An option here would be that birth mother signed over custody over to Azel and calling it adoption was just an easy way to explain for the involved people?

Could that be a cop out from Patreon rules? Not adoptive mother but custodian? After MC is of legal age and his birth mother will most likely be coming back into his life the legal responsibility and relationship of Azel over/with MC would end

Over the next year, feelings develop and we end up sleeping together; in what way is that different from any 2 random teens meeting and falling in love/lust? Oh boy, I really can`t get peoples hate an unhealthy fear of the most natural things in life. Love and sexuality.
It all has to be regulated, categorized, pressed into boxes and stamped appropriate and not.

Honestly the whole adoption story would have been way more cut and dry if things were reversed and Ethan's mom died and the dad disappeared lol. Independent adoption can be arranged and executed between parents and a family friend and without involving any kind of agency. The need for the birth fathers consent is automatically revoked if he is out of contact with the child for an extended period so that would solve that.

Once the paperwork is signed, they'd just be consenting adults, or am I terribly naive? And if he still wants to call Azel mommy in the bedroom, that wouldn't be worse than Bailey calling him daddy, in my opinion.

Oh I also wanted to say good job on that guide! Thank you to everyone who has chipped in to help loco on it as well. You guys are awesome.

And being completely honest I'm doing a little poorly. Just a lot of stress.
There's the obvious stress of the update and issues with it and there's a lot of stress just from personal life. There was an earthquake where I live a few weeks ago, there wasn't any damage except for some water pipes and I had a plumber come out the same day and he said everything was fixed. But turns out there was a leak he didn't find/fix and I have some water damage with a pretty large portion of my floor. If anyone remembers it happened in the past as well and my floor turned into wet cardboard essentially, so I've just balancing getting everything done and fixed.

So it's been a struggle. But I don't want to harp on negative stuff too much. Just trying my best to stay positive through it all. I hope all of you guys are doing well.

The difference between legal and Terms of Service.
Even if what you do or create should be perfectly legal, if you signed the TOS of a "provider" stating you cannot do that for whatever reason, you cannot do that or you will be kicked.
