I believe it is around that timeframe, but regardless long enough that Ryker, a yr or 2 older than MC no dealing before DAD and MC left the town WVM is in. Also the prevailing theory is MC's dad MAY have been responsible for Ryker and Katie's parent's deaths

I am still sticking with the MC father killed Ryker's parents in a car accident which is why he holds the grudge. Pure and simple easy to explain without a lot of extra crazy details.

Maybe even (chosen name) was some how a nickname and thats the reason MC was called that and why he thought it was his actual name.
