The Urgent Care thing was laughable, probably only concocted to brush right up against the Holidays, meaning he can now go AWOL for the maximum amount of "excused" time with the tried and true Sickness into Holiday combo (I've used this one at the office a lot, it only works the first few times so be careful). It's kinda risky but if employed properly you can pretty much just 'X' out the entire month of December.
My god's honest hope with this kid is that he was just doing this as a hobby in college and now years later he is working an actual job in his career field and is just trying to keep this project going with as little effort as possible in order to keep that extra revenue stream going. That is sort of my personal fantasy though, I think the harsh reality is that this person is a compulsive liar with no integrity or work ethic, and they will realize very soon that when the money runs out they have no other choice but to make another AVN under a different name because the BrainDrop brand will have zero credibility and he's absolutely not using WVM to get a job in the real world as any elementary googling skills quickly reveals the dumpsterfire that is this game's development saga.

with the cycle of delays from this dev being constant, quite frankly i am amazed that anybody bothers to complain anymore. ever time i look here, it's the same commenters making the same comments. personally i couldn't give a shit how long the updates take since there are so many better games to play here than this one. sure i play the updates as they come, but the story is so basic and boring and the number of LI's is beyond idiotic that perhaps one day i will go back, start a new game and keep the LI number down as much as i can. it's kinda pathetic that there are so many LI's that i can't even remember the names of my favorites. 
and of course that is down to the long time between updates and each update focusing on more new LI's and less on the ones mc already has. though my fav LI's are the ones where mc steals women away from their asshole soon to be exes..

The thought of this guy in a real world job is kind of scary. Wouldn't want him responsible for anything that affects me.
You don't have to take it as a joke.... but keep this in mind. You're getting butt hurt over a game that has been a gigantic shit show for years, and as much as I'd like to hope it isn't a joke.... we really might get another Eternum release before BD gets ep 13 out, and that is a weird mix of hilarious and sad, and it's just easier to assume it is a joke instead of prophetic

If every single one of WVM supporters stop paying their subscriptions, one of two things would happen:
1) braindrop would start to take things seriously and start putting out updates that are long overdue and over paid.
2) braindrop would stop making this game for lack of money and would take care of his health, and by health I mean mental health.
I for one would rather option 1 as I like this AVN, and that is why I am always beating up on braindrop.
Well, we´ll see what happens, I dont expect any miracles, and braindrop will be braindrop.

Stop by every other month or so just to see what's happening. Surprise. Still nothing. Im quite shocked that people leave their CC on auto renew for this guy. It's just a Rolodex of excuses about an update that was said to be done over a year ago that's been chopped and hacked up in to 200 render updates, if that.
There's disposable income and then there's just being outright terrible with your money. Would be wild to see the numbers on how many months people have been billed and gotten zero updates or a tiny one with 200 renders. Again, for something that was supposed to be out over a year ago.

This is going to be a pretty long post, I'm typing this during downtime in-between bug fixing packaging attempts.
We're coming to the end of 2024, I hope all of you are enjoying the Holiday season.
To put it lightly, Dev-wise this has been a year to forget for me. Missed dates, Broken promises, bad communication, in every single way I have been embarrassingly bad this year.
I'm not saying that to beat myself up or anything like that, it's simply reality.
A reality I am 100% responsible for.
It's been a year of poor decision after poor decision, just me digging the hole further and further. I was given 1000 chances this year and I failed every time.
This platform is used to support creators and I was blessed with this community.
The support I've received for this silly little game has not only changed my life but also the lives' of my loved ones.
That support isn't blind support though, it's to aid in the development and release of WVM.
Just to put it bluntly, I've been re-paying your support with disrespect instead.
It's not intentional but at the end of the day it's still disrespect and that's a stain I can never wash off.
All year long I've been stuck on E13. What was originally only planned to be 400 renders ballooned into 1600+ renders mostly due to poor planning and whatever mental block I've had. I remade scene after scene and was just never able to be happy with what I made. It fucking blows to pour so much time into something only to feel too ashamed in it to want to share it with anyone. It also fucking blows to be told constant release dates only for those days to come and go.
This whole situation is in a shit spot and the only one who can change it is the same person who got it here in the first place.
And just to be transparent, this is far from my first time saying things will change. In fact I've said it way too many times with no results. Not to undermine the whole post but the truth is these words don't mean anything, only actions do.
2024 wasn't a complete wash, in all of the chaos and remakes I did learn a lot. With some of the stuff I was trying to do I was forced into new challenges that made me try new things. I've been focusing a lot on feedback, a lot of stuff I tried to ignore in the past and I think I grew a lot from it. I hope the upcoming content will show some of that growth.
I have to get the train back on the rails, So let's talk about 2025.
I have a small list of reasonable and expectable goals.
- 3500 new renders released (average of around 9.5 a day) (Excluding already made content like E13 & E14)
- At least the first week released of the Season 1 redo
- All Character Sheets released (Needed for the redo)
- Jasmine DITLO & Harper Uncensored DITLO (After things are going smooth)
- Some level of side content or just for fun stuff (After things are going smooth)
I have to prove to myself that I can still do this, I have to prove that I am worthy of support.
I'm holding myself accountable to these goals. If I can not hit these then I can't do this anymore, it simply isn't fair to all of you. WVM would then just continue as a hobby.
There will be a post at the end of 2025 seeing how things went as well as monthly check ins to see if I'm staying on track.
With all that said, I sadly have to end 2024 with one last L on the pile, the rest of E13 will not be ready by the end of the year. I really wanted to end this year with this weight off of me and I fucking tried but if it could go wrong right now, it did. The problems are not major and they will not turn major.
The content is all figured out but I'm dealing with technical issues as well as some life stuff that's been in the works for a long time. Just too much shit landing at the worst time.
Super fucking sucks, I'm frustrated beyond belief with it all but silver linings. This gives me a chance to start 2025 with something I wasn't able to do in 2024 and that's hit a release date.
Sunday, January 5th, 2025. The rest of E13 will be released. I really want it to be sooner but I don't want to give a date without being able to guarantee it and with the life stuff this is the first day that I know I can have it out by. This release will be available to all tiers straight away including former patrons (patrons will have access to the post here, former patrons will have access via the discord).
While I'm on the topic all of E14 will be available to former patrons too as previously promised, though all of those releases will be tiered but sped up a lot. (2 hours between tiers)
I will also be doing the same for a handful of updates past E14 (Though these will follow the normal tier release schedule)
Once again, none of you owe me anything and I owe all of you a lot.
Your money is your money and there is no current need to pledge. You will still receive everything for a while including all of the character sheets when they're released.
I am sorry for all of the frustration I've caused. I hope to leave most of this shit behind in 2024.
The last thing I want to touch on is communication. I fucking suck at it and I always try to overpromise things which leads into a vicious cycle which leaves me in situations like this one currently. This release date for E13 will be the only release date given in 2025.
I will have a weekly progress report with no text, just an image with numbers and a teaser or two like the one in this post.
There will also be the monthly report going over the month but I won't talk much about future months.
Alright, I think that's enough for one post. I'm once again so sorry for taking so long but I will see you guys on the 5th. I'm excited for you guys to see these last few scenes. And I'm excited to put this behind me on get onto releasing E14.
